Dua 55 In times of fitna (trial, discord) and fasad (mischief, corruption), in a state of war, or in situations of unrest, anxiety, and distress caused by people, this supplication should be recited:
(Surah Ibrahim (14), Verse 35)
رَبِّ ٱجْعَلْ هَـٰذَا ٱلْبَلَدَ ءَامِنًا وَٱجْنُبْنِى وَبَنِىَّ أَن نَّعْبُدَ ٱلْأَصْنَامَ
Rabbij 'al haazal balada aaminanw wajnubnee wa baniyya an na'budal asnaam.
My Lord! Make this city a sanctuary, and save me and my children from worshiping idols.
(Surah Ibrahim (14), Verse 35)
Prophet Ibrahim (A.S.) prayed, "O Allah, establish peace and security in the city of Makkah." He also sought protection for himself and his progeny from shirk
Shirk is the root of fitna and fasad. Islam is a blessing. Outside of Islam, there is only fitna, fasad, oppression, darkness, chaos, anxiety, and superstition.
This dua should be recited during times of fitna and fasad, in war-like situations, or in periods of unrest and distress caused by people.
