اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ يَا مَنْ‌ خَلَقَ الزَّوْجَيْنِ الذَّكَرَ وَ الْأُنْثى

O Allah, I ask You, O He who created the male and female

‌ مِنْ نُطْفَةٍ إِذا تُمْنى‌

from a sperm drop when it is emitted,

يَا مَنْ‌ أَهْلَكَ عاداً الْأُولى‌ وَ ثَمُودَ

O He who destroyed 'Ad the first and Thamud

فَما أَبْقى‌ وَ قَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِنْ قَبْلُ

and left none of them, and the people of Noah before.

إِنَّهُمْ كانُوا هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَ أَطْغى‌

Indeed, they were more unjust and more rebellious.

يَا مَنْ فَتَحَ‌ أَبْوابَ السَّماءِ بِماءٍ مُنْهَمِرٍ

O He who opened the doors of heaven with pouring water

وَ فَجَّرْنَا الْأَرْضَ عُيُوناً

and caused the earth to burst with springs,

فَالْتَقَى الْماءُ عَلى‌ أَمْرٍ قَدْ قُدِرَ

so the waters met for a matter already decreed.

يَا مَنْ يَسَّرَ الْقُرْآنَ لِلذِّكْرِ

O He who has made the Quran easy for remembrance,

فَهَلْ مِنْ مُدَّكِرٍ

so is there any who will remember?

يَا مَنْ نَجَّى آلَ لُوطٍ بِسَحَرٍ نِعْمَةً مِنْ عِنْدِهِ

O He who saved the family of Lot at dawn, as a favor from Him.

كَذَلِكَ يَجْزِي مَنْ شَكَرَ

Thus, He rewards those who are grateful.

يَا مَنْ خَلَقَ كُلَّ شَيْ‌ءٍ بِقَدَرِ

O He who created everything with measure,

يَا مَنْ أَخَذَ آلَ فِرْعَوْنَ‌ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍ مُقْتَدِرٍ

who took the people of Pharaoh with a mighty grip.

يَا مَنْ رَفَعَ السَّمَاءَ وَ وَضَعَ الْمِيزانَ‌

O He who raised the heavens and set the balance.

يَا مَنْ وَضَعَ الْأَرْضَ لِلْأَنَامِ

O He who laid out the earth for creatures.

يَا مَنْ‌ يُسَبِّحُ لَهُ ما فِي السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ

O He whose praise is sung by whatever is in the heavens and the earth,

وَ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ‌

and He is the Mighty, the Wise.

يَا مَنْ‌ هُوَ الْأَوَّلُ وَ الْآخِرُ

O He who is the First and the Last,

وَ الظَّاهِرُ وَ الْباطِنُ

the Manifest and the Hidden,

وَ هُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ عَلِيمٌ‌

and He is, of all things, Knowing.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِمَا نَاجَيْتُكَ بِهِ مِنْ مِدْحَتِكَ فِي يَوْمِي هَذَا

O Allah, I ask You, by praising You today,

أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عِتْرَتِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ

to send blessings on Muhammad and his pure progeny,

وَ أَنْ تَفُكَّ رَقَبَتِي مِنَ النَّارِ

and to free my neck from the Fire.

يَا مَنْ أَيَادِيهِ وَ نِعَمُهُ لَا تُحْصَى بِعَدَدٍ

O He whose favors and blessings cannot be counted

وَ لَا تُكَافَى بِعَمَلٍ

or repaid by any action.

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي خَلَقَنِي وَ لَمْ أَكُ‌ شَيْئاً مَذْكُوراً

Praise be to Allah, who created me when I was nothing mentioned.

وَ فَضَّلَنِي عَلَى كَثِيرٍ مِمَّنْ خَلَقَ تَفْضِيلًا

And favored me over many of whom He created with a preference.

وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي رَزَقَنِي وَ لَمْ أَمْلِكْ شَيْئاً

And praise be to Allah, who provided for me when I possessed nothing,

وَ فَضَّلَنِي عَلَى كَثِيرٍ مِمَّنْ خَلَقَ فِي الرِّزْقِ

and favored me over many of whom He created in provision.

وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ وَ أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ

Praise be to Allah, and I seek forgiveness from Allah for every sin

وَ أَسْأَلُهُ فِي يَوْمِي هَذَا وَ سَاعَتِي هَذِهِ

and ask Him in this day, this hour,

وَ زَمَانِي أَنْ يَتَكَرَّمَ عَلَيَّ بِالْعَفْوِ مِنْ عَذَابِهِ

and this time to be gracious to me with pardon from His punishment,

وَ الْإِقَالَةِ مِنْ عِقَابِهِ وَ الْقَبُولِ لِمَا فَرَضَ عَلَيَّ

relief from His retribution, acceptance of what He has decreed upon me,

وَ أَنْ يَرْزُقَنِي خَيْرَ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ

and to grant me the best of this world and the Hereafter.

وَ الْأَمْنَ وَ الْعَافِيَةَ وَ الْغِنَى وَ الْمَغْفِرَةَ

And security, well-being, wealth, and forgiveness.

إِنَّكَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Indeed, You are capable of everything.

وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ

And may Allah send blessings upon our master Muhammad and his pure family.
