لا إِلهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ‌ وَحْدَهُ‌ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ

There is no deity except Allah, alone, without partner,

‌ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ

to Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise.

يُحْيِي وَ يُمِيتُ‌ وَ هُوَ حَيٌّ لَا يَمُوتُ

He gives life and causes death, and He is living and does not die.

بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَ هُوَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

In His hand is all good, and He is over all things capable.

لا إِلهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ‌ وَحْدَهُ‌ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ‌ وَ لَا نَعْبُدُ إِلَّا إِيَّاهُ

There is no deity except Allah, alone, without partner, and we worship none but Him.

‌ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ‌ وَحْدَهُ‌ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ‌

There is no deity except Allah, alone, without partner.

وَ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ

Glorified is Allah with His praise.

‌ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ‌ إِلهاً واحِداً وَ نَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُونَ‌

There is no deity except Allah, the One, and to Him, we submit.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْعَالِمُ بِمَا ظَهَرَ مِنِّي وَ مَا خَفِيَ عَنْ خَلْقِكَ

O Allah, You are the Knower of what is apparent from me and what is hidden from Your creation.

وَ لَوْ لَا سَتْرُكَ لِي وَ تَحَنُّنُكَ عَلَيَّ لَكُنْتُ مِنَ الْمَفْضُوحِينَ

If not for Your covering for me and Your compassion towards me, I would have been among the disgraced.

سَيِّدِي أَوْقَرْتَنِي بِالنِّعَمِ وَ أَوْقَرْتُ صَحِيفَتِي ذُنُوباً

My Master, You have honored me with Your blessings, and I have laden my record with sins.

نَظَرْتَ لِي بِكَرَمِكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ

You looked upon me with Your generosity, O my Master,

وَ لَمْ أَنْظُرْ لِنَفْسِي لِسُوءِ [بِسُوءِ] رَأْيِي

and I did not look to myself for the ill opinion.

فَكَمْ مِنْ ذَنْبٍ عَظِيمٍ وَ خَطِيئَةٍ مُوبِقَةٍ أَحْصَيْتَ عَلَيَّ

How many great sins and destructive misdeeds have You enumerated for me

فِي سَوَادِ اللَّيْلِ وَ ضَوْءِ النَّهَارِ

in the darkness of night and the light of day,

أَسْتَحْيِي مِنْ ذِكْرِهَا تَسْمِيَةً بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ

which I am ashamed to mention before You.

فَبِئْسَ الْعَبْدُ أَنَا لِنَفْسِي وَ نِعْمَ الرَّبُّ أَنْتَ لِي

What a terrible servant I am to myself, and what an excellent Lord You are to me.

تَدْعُونِي فَأُوَلِّي عَنْكَ كَأَنَّ لِيَ التَّطَوُّلَ عَلَيْكَ

You call me, and I turn away from You, as if I am entitled to be insolent towards You.

فَأَسْأَلُكَ يَا إِلَهِي بِالْقُدْرَةِ الَّتِي قَدَرْتَ بِهَا عَلَى ذُنُوبِي وَ إِحْصَائِهَا

So, I ask You, O my God, by the power You have decreed over my sins and their enumeration,

وَ بِالرَّحْمَةِ الَّتِي سَتَرْتَ بِهَا مَا قَبُحَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِي

and by the mercy with which You have covered the ugliness of my sins,

أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ الْأَخْيَارِ

to send blessings upon Muhammad and his good family,

وَ تُعْتِقَنِي مِنَ النَّارِ فِي يَوْمِي هَذَا مِنْ شَهْرِكَ الْمَيْمُونِ الْمَعْصُومِ

and to liberate me from the Fire on this day of Your blessed, infallible month,

وَ أَنْ تَخْتِمَ لِي فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ بِخَيْرٍ مَعَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ

and to seal for me this day with good, along with the believing men and women,

الْأَحْيَاءِ مِنْهُمْ وَ الْأَمْوَاتِ بِمَا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ

the living among them and the dead, by what You are deserving of.

حَتَّى أَفُوزَ يَا مَوْلَايَ بِحُسْنِ تَوَكُّلِي عَلَيْكَ

That I may succeed, O my Master, by the goodness of my reliance on You

وَ بِمَا جَرَتْ عَادَتُكَ مَعَ أَمْثَالِي مِنْ خَلْقِكَ

and by what Your custom is with the likes of me from Your creation,

وَ أَنْ تَرْزُقَنِي الْأَمْنَ وَ الْعَافِيَةَ وَ الْغِنَى وَ الْمَغْفِرَةَ

and that You grant me security, well-being, wealth, and forgiveness.

إِنَّكَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

Indeed, You are capable of all things, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ وَ سَلَّمَ.

And may Allah send blessings upon Muhammad and his pure family, and grant peace.
