اللَّهُمَّ رَبِّي وَ إِلَهِي وَ سَيِّدِي وَ ثِقَتِي

O Allah, my Lord, my God, my Master, my Trust,

وَ رَجَائِي وَ أَمَلِي وَ مَوْضِعَ شَكْوَايَ

my Hope, my Desire, and the Place of my complaint,

وَ مَنْ إِلَيْهِ مَلْجَئِي وَ مَنْ هُوَ ثِقَتِي فِي كُلِّ أَحْوَالِي

and to Whom I resort, and Who is my Trust in all my states.

إِنِّي أَصْبَحْتُ وَ بِي إِلَيْكَ فَاقَةٌ وَ لِي إِلَيْكَ حَاجَاتٌ

Indeed, I have awakened with my poverty towards You and my needs towards You,

وَ لَكَ عِنْدِي طَلِبَاتٌ وَ أَنَا مُرْتَهَنٌ بِمَا اجْتَرَأْتُ فِيهَا

and I have demands from You, and I am burdened by what I dared in it

وَ بَارَزْتُكَ بِهِ مِنَ الْمَعَاصِي وَ مُخَالِفَةِ مَا أَمَرْتَنِي بِهِ

and opposed You with of sins and disobedience to what You commanded me,

وَ تَائِبٌ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهَا فَاغْفِرْهَا لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ بِعَظِيمِ عَفْوِكَ

and I repent to You from it, so forgive them for me from Your side with Your immense pardon,

وَ بِسَعَةِ رِزْقِكَ وَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ جُودِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ

and with the expansiveness of Your provision, and Your mercy, and Your generosity, and Your nobility,

وَ مَغْفِرَتِكَ كُلِّهَا قَدِيمِهَا وَ حَدِيثِهَا سِرِّهَا وَ عَلَانِيَتِهَ

and Your forgiveness, all of it, the old and the recent, the secret and the public,

ا خَطَأِهَا وَ عَمْدِهَا مَغْفِرَةً عَزْماً جَزْماً لَا أَكْتَسِبُ بَعْدَهَا خَطَأً

the mistake and the deliberate, forgiveness decisively, after which I do not commit a mistake,

وَ لَا تَكْتُبُ عَلَيَّ بَعْدَهَا ذَنْباً وَ لَا إِثْماً

nor do You write against me a sin or an offense.

يَا ثِقَتِي فِي شِدَّتِي وَ مُونِسِي فِي وَحْدَتِي وَ كَالِئِي فِي وَحْشَتِي

O my Trust in my hardship, and my Companion in my solitude, and my Refuge in my estrangement,

يَا قَدِيمَ الْعَفْوِ يَا حَسَنَ الْبَلَاءِ

O Ancient of pardon, O Beautiful in trial,

يَا إِلَهِي وَ إِلَهَ آبَائِي وَ إِلَهَ الْخَلْقِ أَجْمَعِينَ

O my God and the God of my fathers and the God of all creation.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي عَبْدُكَ الْعَلِيلُ [الْقَلِيلُ‌] الذَّلِيلُ الْخَائِفُ الْمُسْتَجِيرُ

O Allah, I am Your feeble (or insignificant), humble, frightened, seeking refuge,

الْمُحْتَاجُ إِلَيْكَ الْمُضْطَرُّ فِي كُلِّ أَحْوَالِهِ إِلَى خَالِقِهِ

needy servant, compelled in all his states to his Creator.

أَنَا حَمَّالُ الْخَطَايَا سِرّاً وَ عَلَانِيَةً

I am the bearer of sins, secretly and openly.

أَنَا شَرُّ عَبْدٍ وَ أَنْتَ خَيْرُ رَبٍّ وَ مَوْلًى

I am the worst servant, and You are the best Lord and Master.

أَنْتَ الْعَوَّادُ بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ وَ أَنَا الْعَوَّادُ بِالْمَعْصِيَةِ

You are the Repetitive in forgiveness, and I am repetitive in sinning.

أَنَا الْمُسْتَوْجِبُ لِسَوَابِقِ سَخَطِكَ وَ لِزَوَالِ نِعَمِكَ

I am deserving of the precedents of Your wrath and the disappearance of Your blessings.

أَسْأَلُكَ يَا إِلَهِي بِضِيَائِكَ وَ بَهَائِكَ وَ آلَائِكَ وَ كِبْرِيَائِكَ

I ask You, O my God, by Your light, Your splendor, Your favors, Your majesty,

وَ أَسْمَائِكَ الْحُسْنَى كُلِّهَا وَ كَلِمَاتِكَ التَّامَّاتِ كُلِّهَا

and all Your beautiful names, and all Your complete words,

وَ أَيَادِيكَ الْقَدِيمَةِ عِنْدِي

and Your ancient favors upon me,

أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَخْيَارِ

to send blessings upon Muhammad and the good members of his household,

وَ أَنْ تُعْتِقَ رَقَبَتِي مِنَ النَّارِ

and to liberate my neck from the Fire.

إِنَّكَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Indeed, You are capable of all things.

وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ وَ سَلَّمَ.

And may Allah send blessings upon Muhammad and his pure family, and grant peace.
