اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ الِاسْمِ

O Allah, I ask You by the right of the Name

الَّذِي قُلْتَ لِلسَّمَاءِ كُونِي بِهِ فَقَامَتْ

with which You commanded the sky to be, and it stood,

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ الِاسْمِ الَّذِي تُمْسِكُ السَّمَاءَ

and I ask You by the right of the Name with which You hold the sky

أَنْ تَقَعَ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ‌ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِكَ

from falling on the earth except by Your permission,

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ الِاسْمِ الَّذِي دَعَاكَ بِهِ آدَمُ

and I ask You by the right of the Name with which Adam called upon You,

فَأَقَلْتَ عَثْرَتَهُ وَ رَحِمْتَ عَبْرَتَهُ

so You pardoned his slip and had mercy on his tears,

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِالاسْمِ الَّذِي دَعَتْكَ بِهِ حَوَّاءُ بِالْمَرْوَةِ [عَلَى الْمَرْوَةِ]

and I ask You by the Name with which Eve called upon You at Marwah,

فَاسْتَجَبْتَ لَهَا

so You answered her,

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِالاسْمِ الَّذِي دَعَاكَ بِهِ نُوحٌ

and I ask You by the Name with which Noah called upon You,

فَنَجَّيْتَهُ وَ مَنْ مَعَهُ فِي الْفَلَكِ الْعَظِيمِ

so You saved him and those with him in the great Ark,

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِالاسْمِ الَّذِي دَعَاكَ بِهِ شُعَيْبٌ

and I ask You by the Name with which Shu'ayb called upon You

فَنَجَّيْتَهُ مِنَ الرَّجْفَةِ

so You saved him from the earthquake

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ [بِالاسْمِ‌] الَّذِي دَعَاكَ بِهِ صَالِحٌ

and I ask You by Your Name with which Salih called upon You

فَأَنْجَيْتَهُ مِنَ الصَّيْحَةِ

so You saved him from the outcry,

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِالاسْمِ الَّذِي جَعَلْتَ بِهِ النَّارَ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ‌ بَرْداً وَ سَلَاماً

and I ask You by the Name with which You made the fire cool and safe for Abraham

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِالاسْمِ الَّذِي دَعَاكَ بِهِ إِسْمَاعِيلُ

and I ask You by the Name with which Ishmael called upon You

فَنَجَّيْتَهُ مِنَ الذَّبْحِ

so You saved him from being slaughtered

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِالاسْمِ الَّذِي دَعَاكَ بِهِ مُوسَى

and I ask You by the Name with which Moses called upon You

فَكَلَّمْتَهُ عَلَى جَبَلِ طُورِ سَيْنَاءَ

so You spoke to him on Mount Sinai

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِالاسْمِ الَّذِي دَعَاكَ بِهِ أَيُّوبُ

and I ask You by the Name with which Job called upon You

فَكَشَفْتَ عَنْهُ الْبَلَاءَ

so You relieved him of the affliction

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِالاسْمِ الَّذِي نَجَّيْتَ بِهِ يُونُسَ مِنْ بَطْنِ الْحُوتِ

and I ask You by the Name with which You saved Jonah from the belly of the whale

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِالاسْمِ الَّذِي دَعَاكَ بِهِ مُحَمَّدٌ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ يَوْمَ الْغَارِ

and I ask You by the Name with which Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, called upon You in the cave

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّ الْكِرَامِ الْكَاتِبِينَ

and I ask You by the honor of the noble scribes

وَ بِحَقِّ جَبْرَئِيلَ وَ مِيكَائِيلَ وَ إِسْرَافِيلَ

and by the right of Gabriel, Michael, and Israfil

أَنْ تَسْتَجِيبَ دُعَائِي فِيمَا سَأَلْتُكَ بِهِ

to answer my prayer in what I asked You

مِنْ أَوَّلِ الشَّهْرِ إِلَى هَذَا الْيَوْمِ

From the beginning of the month until this day

وَ أَنْ تُعْتِقَ رَقَبَتِي مِنَ النَّارِ

and to emancipate my neck from the Fire

وَ تُحَرِّمَ جَسَدِي عَلَى النَّارِ

and to forbid my body on the Fire

إِنَّكَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

for You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.

اللَّهُمَّ وَ اقْبَلْنِي بِفَضْلٍ مِنْكَ عَلَى مَا كَانَ مِنِّي

O Allah, accept me by Your grace upon what has been from me

تَفَضُّلًا مِنْكَ عَلَيَّ

a grace from You upon me

اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَقْطَعْ فِيهِ رَجَائِي

O Allah, do not cut off my hope in it

وَ لَا تَحْجُبْ فِيهِ سَعْيِي وَ دُعَائِي

nor veil my effort, my prayer

وَ لَا تُجْهِدْ فِيهِ بَلَائِي بَعْدَ صَوْمِي لَهُ

nor aggravate my trial after my fasting for it

وَ لَا تُشْمِتْ بِي فِيهِ أَعْدَائِي

nor let my enemies gloat over me in it

إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

Indeed, You are Allah, there is no deity except You

سَيِّدِي وَ مَوْلَايَ وَ غَايَةَ طَلِبَتِي وَ رِضَايَ

my Lord and my Master, the end of my request and my satisfaction

اللَّهُمَّ أَلْهِمْنِي فِي سَاعَتِي هَذِهِ الطُّمَأْنِينَةَ بِعَفْوِكَ عَنِّي

O Allah, inspire me in this hour with tranquility with Your pardon for me

وَ قَبُولِكَ لِي عَمَلِي [عَلَى‌] مَا كَانَ مِنِّي

and acceptance of my act upon what has been from me

حَتَّى أَعْلَمَ أَنَّكَ قَدْ رَحِمْتَنِي

until I know that You have had mercy on me

وَ غَفَرْتَ لِي وَ تَكَرَّمْتَ وَ تَفَضَّلْتَ وَ تَطَوَّلْتَ

forgiven me, honored me, favored me, extended to me

وَ مَنَنْتَ عَلَى عَبْدِكَ الَّذِي خَلَقْتَهُ

and granted favor upon Your servant whom You created

وَ أَنْتَ مَوْلَاهُ وَ مَنْجَاهُ وَ مَلْجَاهُ

and You are his Patron, his Refuge

وَ غَايَتُهُ وَ مُنْتَهَى رَغْبَتِهِ

his ultimate goal, and the end of his desire

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِمَّنْ فَازَ فِيهِ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ بِقَبُولِكَ إِيَّاهُ

O Allah, make me among those who succeeded among Your righteous servants by accepting them

اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَرُدَّنِي خَائِباً

O Allah, do not return me disappointed while

وَ أَنْتَ قَادِرٌ عَلَى إِجَابَتِي وَ أَنْ تَقْضِيَ حَاجَتِي

You are capable of answering my prayer and fulfilling my need.

اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَجْعَلْهُ آخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنِّي

O Allah, do not make this the last of my connection with You.

اللَّهُمَّ وَ أَحْيِنِي إِلَى مِثْلِهِ سِنِينَ وَ دُهُوراً

O Allah, and let me live to its likes for years and centuries.

عَلَيْكَ السَّلَامُ يَا شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ

Peace be upon you, O month of Ramadan.

اللَّهُمَّ يَا صَادِقَ الْوَعْدِ

O Allah, O the True in promise

لَا تَجْعَلْ شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ آخِرَ الْعَهْدِ مِنِّي بِهِ

do not make the month of Ramadan the last of my connection with it.

أَسْتَوْدِعُكَ اللَّهَ يَا شَهْرَ رَمَضَانَ

I entrust You, O month of Ramadan,

دَعَةً رَاضِيَةً مَرْضِيَّةً مَقْبُولَةً

with peace, satisfaction, acceptance.

اللَّهُمَّ يَا رَبِّ لَا تُخْرِجْهُ عَنِّي

O Allah, O Lord, do not leave me

بِيَأْسٍ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ لِي وَ عَفْوِكَ عَنِّي

in despair of Your mercy for me and Your pardon for me.

اللَّهُمَّ حَقِّقْ ظَنِّيَ الْحَسَنَ فِيكَ

O Allah, fulfill my good assumption of You,

يَا مَنْ لَا تَشْتَبِهُ عَلَيْهِ الظُّنُونُ

O He who is not confused by assumptions,

يَا مَنْ لَا يَنْسَى مَنْ ذَكَرَهُ

O He who does not forget those who remember Him,

يَا جَوَاداً فِي عَطِيَّتِهِ

O Generous in His gift,

يَا كَرِيماً فِي جَوَائِزِهِ

O Noble in His rewards,

يَا مُحْسِناً فِي عَفْوِهِ

O Beneficent in His pardon,

يَا وَاسِعاً فِي رَحْمَتِهِ

O Expansive in His mercy,

يَا سَمِحاً فِي تَجَاوُزِهِ

O Forgiving in His overlooking.

قَدْ نَاجَيْتُكَ فِي أَيَّامِهِ كُلِّهَا

I have beseeched You in all its days,

مُتَوَسِّلًا بِرَحْمَتِكَ إِلَى عَفْوِكَ

seeking Your mercy to Your pardon,

وَ بِجُودِكَ إِلَى كَرَمِكَ

and Your generosity to Your honor,

وَ بِطَوْلِكَ إِلَى إِحْسَانِكَ

and Your patience to Your benevolence.

ارْزُقْنِي حَلَاوَةَ الرَّحْمَةِ

Grant me the sweetness of mercy

وَ لَا تَجْعَلْ عِنْدَ انْصِرَافِهِ فِي قَلْبِي مِنْهُ حَسْرَةً

and do not leave in my heart any regret at its departure.

اللَّهُمَّ أَذِقْنِي لَذَّةَ الْقَبُولِ وَ طِيبَ الْعَفْوِ

O Allah, let me taste the pleasure of acceptance and the goodness of pardon.

اللَّهُمَّ أَشْرِبْ قَلْبِي لَذَّةَ الْإِجَابَةِ

O Allah, drench my heart with the pleasure of response

حَتَّى أَعْلَمَ أَنَّكَ [قَدْ] رَحِمْتَنِي تَفَضُّلًا مِنْكَ عَلَيَّ [وَ امْتِنَاناً]

until I know that You have indeed had mercy on me as a favor from You upon me,

يَا رَبَّاهْ يَا سَيِّدَاهْ يَا مَوْلَايَاهْ

O my Lord, my Master, my Patron.

يَا مَنْ إِذَا تَوَكَّلَ عَلَيْهِ الْعَبْدُ كَفَاهُ

O He upon whom the servant relies and suffices him,

وَ إِذَا سَأَلَهُ أَعْطَاهُ

and when he asks Him, He gives him.

اللَّهُمَّ أَجِبْ دُعَائِي وَ صل [صَدِّقْ‌] رَجَائِي وَ أَعْطِنِي مُنَايَ

O Allah, answer my prayer, affirm my hope, and grant me my wish,

يَا قَرِيباً إِذَا دُعِيَ يَا مُجِيباً إِذَا نُودِيَ

O Near when called, O Responsive when invoked.

اللَّهُمَّ وَ اجْزِ شَهْرَكَ الْعَظِيمَ عَنَّا مَا أَنْتَ أَهْلُهُ

O Allah, and reward Your great month for us as You are worthy of it.

اللَّهُمَّ زِدْهُ شَرَفاً وَ بَهَجاً وَ تَلَأْلُؤاً وَ كَرَامَةً وَ زُلْفَى [زُلْفاً]

O Allah, increase its honor, brightness, sparkle, dignity, and closeness.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّهُ قَدْ [فَرَّجَ عَنْ قُلُوبِنَا] فَرِحَ عَنْهُ قُلُوبُنَا

O Allah, indeed, it has made our hearts happy,

وَ أَضَاءَتْ بِهِ أَبْصَارُنَا وَ قَلَّتْ بِهِ خَطَايَانَا

and our eyes brightened, and our sins lessened.

اللَّهُمَّ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى حُلُولِهِ

O Allah, so all praise is due to You upon its arrival,

وَ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عِنْدَ قُدُومِهِ وَ قُفُولِهِ وَ تَمَامِهِ وَ كَمَالِهِ

its coming, its departure, its completion, its perfection

وَ مَعُونَتِنَا عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى تُهَنِّئَنَا بِرِضَاكَ

and our assistance upon it until You make us pleased with Your satisfaction.

اللَّهُمَّ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى ظَعْنِهِ

O Allah, so all praise is due to You upon its leaving.

اللَّهُمَّ وَ صَلِّ عَلَى خَيْرِ خَلْقِكَ عِنْدَكَ

O Allah, and send blessings upon the best of Your creation with You,

مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَ رَسُولِكَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ [رَسُولِكَ‌] وَ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ صَفْوَتِكَ وَ خِيَرَتِكَ

Muhammad Your servant and Your messenger, peace be upon him and his family,

وَ عَلَى جَمِيعِ أَنْبِيَائِكَ وَ رُسُلِكَ

and upon all Your prophets and messengers,

وَ حَمَلَةِ عَرْشِكَ كَمَا تُحِبُّ الصَّلَاةَ عَلَيْهِمْ

and the carriers of Your Throne, as You love prayers to be upon them.

إِنَّكَ حَمِيدٌ مَجِيدٌ وَ أَنْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Indeed, You are Praiseworthy, Majestic, and You are capable of all things.

غَفَرَ اللَّهُ فِي هَذَا الْعَامِ وَ فِي هَذَا الشَّهْرِ

May Allah forgive in this year, and in this month,

وَ فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ وَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّاعَةِ

and in this day, and in this hour,

لِصُوَّامِ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ

the fasters of the month of Ramadan

مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ

from the believers and the believing women,

الْأَحْيَاءِ مِنْهُمْ وَ الْأَمْوَاتِ

the living among them and the dead.

وَ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

And there is no deity except Allah, and Allah is the Greatest,

وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ

and there is no power and no strength except with Allah, the High, the Great.

اللَّهُمَّ وَ أَحْيِنَا إِلَى أَمْثَالِهِ حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً

O Allah, and let us live to its likes in a good life,

وَ اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَ تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا صَالِحَ أَعْمَالِنَا

and forgive us our sins, and accept from us our good deeds,

وَ تَسَامَحْ لَنَا وَ تَكَرَّمْ عَلَيْنَا

and be lenient with us, and honor us,

وَ تَجَاوَزْ عَنَّا وَ هَبْ لَنَا رِضَاكَ وَ الْجَنَّةَ

and overlook our faults, and grant us Your satisfaction and Paradise,

وَ أَعِذْنَا مِنْ سَخَطِكَ وَ النَّارِ

and protect us from Your displeasure and the Fire,

وَ ارْزُقْنَا الْحَجَّ إِلَى بَيْتِكَ الْحَرَامِ

and provide us with the pilgrimage to Your Sacred House,

وَ زِيَارَةِ قَبْرِ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ

and the visitation of the grave of Your prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family,

وَ مَشَاهِدِ الْأَئِمَّةِ مِنْ بَعْدِهِ مِنْ أَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ

and the sights of the Imams after him from his household,

وَ احْشُرْنَا فِي زُمْرَتِهِمْ وَ اجْعَلْنَا مِنْ شِيعَتِهِمْ

and gather us in their group, and make us from their followers,

وَ وَفِّقْنَا لِطَاعَتِهِمْ فَإِنَّهُمُ الْبَابُ إِلَيْكَ وَ بِهِمْ

and grant us success in obeying them, for they are the door to You, and by them,

يَا رَبِّ نَرْجُو عَفْوَكَ

O Lord, we hope for Your pardon.

فَارْزُقْنَا الْأَمْنَ وَ الْعَافِيَةَ وَ الْغِنَى وَ الْمَغْفِرَةَ

So provide us with security, well-being, wealth, and forgiveness.

إِنَّكَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Indeed, You are capable of all things,

وَ أَنْتَ أَكْرَمُ الْأَكْرَمِينَ

and You are the Most Generous of the most generous.

وَ خُصَّ النَّبِيَّ مُحَمَّداً وَ آلَهُ

And specially bless the prophet Muhammad and his family

بِأَفْضَلِ الصَّلَاةِ وَ التَّسْلِيمِ

with the best of prayers and peace,

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

O Most Merciful of the merciful.
