اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ يَا مَنْ‌ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ اهْتَدى‌

O Allah, indeed I ask You, O He who is the most knowledgeable of those who are guided,

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ يَا مَنْ خَلَقَ‌ سَبْعَ سَماواتٍ طِباقاً

and I ask You, O He who created seven heavens in layers,

وَ جَعَلَ الْقَمَرَ فِيهِنَّ نُوراً وَ الشَّمْسَ سِراجاً

and made the moon therein a light and the sun a lamp,

يَا مَنْ لَا يُوجَدُ [لَا نَجِدُ] مِنْ دُونِهِ مُلْتَحَداً

O He who finds no equivalent,

يَا مَنْ أَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيْهِ‌

O He who encompasses everything He has

وَ أَحْصى‌ كُلَّ شَيْ‌ءٍ عَدَداً

and has counted everything in number,

يَا أَهْلَ التَّقْوَى وَ يَا أَهْلَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ

O the one of piety and O the one of forgiveness,

يَا مَنْ هُوَ قَادِرٌ عَلى‌ أَنْ يُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتى

O He who is capable of giving life to the dead.

‌ يَا مَنْ أَعَدَّ لِلْكافِرِينَ سَلاسِلَ وَ أَغْلالًا وَ سَعِيراً

O He who has prepared for the disbelievers chains and shackles and a blazing fire,

يَا مُرْسِلَ الْمُرْسَلَاتِ وَ الْعَاصِفَاتِ

O the sender of the winds, the storms,

وَ النَّاشِرَاتِ وَ الْفَارِقَاتِ وَ الْمُلْقِيَاتِ ذِكْراً

the spreaders, the distinguishers, and the reminders,

يَا مَنْ خَلَقَ‌ الْأَرْضَ كِفاتاً أَحْياءً وَ أَمْواتاً

O He who created the earth for the living and the dead,

وَ جَعَلَ‌ فِيها رَواسِيَ شامِخاتٍ

and made therein lofty mountains,

‌ وَ أَسْقَى عِبَادَهُ‌ ماءً فُراتاً

and watered His servants with sweet water,

أَسْأَلُكَ بِأَنَّكَ أَنْتَ اللَّهُ‌ الْأَوَّلُ وَ الْآخِرُ

I ask You by Your name, You are Allah, the First and the Last,

وَ الظَّاهِرُ وَ الْباطِنُ‌ وَ أَنْتَ‌ بِكُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ عَلِيمٌ‌

the Manifest and the Hidden, and You know everything,

وَ بِمَا سَأَلَكَ بِهِ السَّائِلُونَ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ

and by what Your righteous servants have asked of You,

أَنْ تَرْزُقَنِي فِعْلَ الْخَيْرَاتِ وَ الْعَمَلَ الصَّالِحَ

to grant me the ability to do good deeds and righteous work,

وَ اجْتِنَابَ الْفَوَاحِشِ وَ مَا لَا تَرْضَى بِهِ

and to avoid indecencies and what You do not approve of,

يَا مَنْ لَا يُعْجِزُهُ شَيْ‌ءٌ أَرَادَهُ

O He who is not impeded by anything He wishes,

وَ يَا مَنْ لَا يَتَعَاظَمُهُ غُفْرَانُ الذُّنُوبِ الْعِظَامِ

and O He who is not overwhelmed by forgiving great sins,

يَا مَنْ يُقِيلُ الْعَاثِرِينَ وَ يَعْفُو عَنِ الْمُذْنِبِينَ

O He who excuses those who slip, forgives the sinners,

وَ يَتَكَرَّمُ عَلَى الْمُسِيئِينَ

bestows favor upon the wrongdoers,

وَ يَفْتَحُ بَابَ التَّوْبَةِ لِلْخَاطِئِينَ

and opens the door of repentance to the sinners,

ارْحَمْنِي فَإِنَّكَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ

have mercy on me for You are the most merciful of those who show mercy,

وَ أَعْتِقْنِي فِي يَوْمِي هَذَا مِنَ النَّارِ

and liberate me this day from the Fire,

إِنَّكَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Indeed, You are capable of all things,

وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ

and may Allah's blessings be upon our master Muhammad the Prophet and his pure family.
