اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ يَا مَنْ سَخَّرَ لِدَاوُدَ الْجِبَالَ وَ أَلَانَ لَهُ الْحَدِيدَ

O Allah, I ask You, O You who subjected the mountains and made iron soft for David,

يَا مَنْ‌ يُمْسِكُ‌ السَّمَاوَاتِ‌ [السَّماءَ] أَنْ تَقَعَ عَلَى‌الْأَرْضِ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ‌

O You who holds the heavens from falling onto the earth except by Your permission,

يَا مَنْ‌ يُمْسِكُ السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضَ أَنْ تَزُولا

O You who holds the heavens and the earth from vanishing,

يَا مُحْيِيَ الْمَوْتَى وَ تُكْتَبُ ] يَا مَنْ‌ يُحْيِ الْمَوْتى‌ وَ يُكْتَبُ[

O You who gives life to the dead, and is written down

ما قَدَّمُوا وَ آثارَهُمْ وَ كُلَّ شَيْ‌ءٍ أَحْصَيْناهُ فِي إِمامٍ مُبِينٍ‌

and everything they did and their traces are recorded in a clear ledger.

يَا مَنْ‌ خَلَقَ الْأَزْواجَ كُلَّها مِمَّا تُنْبِتُ الْأَرْضُ

O You who created all pairs from what the earth grows,

وَ مِنْ أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَ مِمَّا لا يَعْلَمُونَ‌

from themselves, and from what they do not know.

يَا مَنْ يُحْيِ الْعِظامَ وَ هِيَ رَمِيمٌ‌

O You who brings the dead to life when the bones are decayed.

يَا مَنْ مَنَ‌ عَلى‌ مُوسى‌ وَ هارُونَ

O You who bestowed favor upon Moses and Aaron

‌ وَ نَجَّاهُمَا مِنَ الْكَرْبِ الْعَظِيمِ‌

and saved them from great distress.

يَا مَنْ سَبَقَتْ كَلِمَتُهُ لِعِبَادِهِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ

O You whose word precedes for His servants, the messengers and the believers.

يَا مَنْ أَتَى دَاوُدَ الْحِكْمَةَ وَ فَصْلَ الْخِطابِ‌

O You who gave David wisdom and clear speech.

يَا مَنْ سَخَّرَ لِسُلَيْمَانَ‌ الرِّيحَ

O You who subjected the wind to Solomon,

تَجْرِي بِأَمْرِهِ رُخاءً حَيْثُ أَصابَ‌

running by His command gently wherever he desired.

يَا غَافِرَ الذَّنْبِ وَ قَابِلَ التَّوْبِ شَدِيدَ الْعِقَابِ

O Forgiver of sin, Acceptor of repentance, severe in punishment.

يَا ذَا الطَّوْلِ‌ لا إِلهَ إِلَّا هُوَ إِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ

O Possessor of bounty, there is no deity but He; to Him is the return.

يَا مَنْ‌ يَعْلَمُ خائِنَةَ الْأَعْيُنِ وَ ما تُخْفِي الصُّدُورُ

O You who know the deceit of the eyes and what the breasts conceal,

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِمَا نَاجَيْتُكَ بِهِ فِي يَوْمِي هَذَا رَجَاءَ عَفْوِكَ

I ask You, by what I have confided in You today in hope of Your pardon,

أَنْ تَعْفُوَ عَنِّي وَ تُفَتِّحَ لِي أَبْوَابَ الْخَيْرِ كُلِّهَا بِكَرَمِكَ

to pardon me and open for me the doors of all good through Your generosity,

وَ الرَّحْمَةِ وَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ [كُلِّهَا] بِجُودِكَ

mercy, and forgiveness.

وَ أَنْ تُوَفِّقَنِي إِلَى أَحَبِّ الْأَعْمَالِ إِلَيْكَ

Enable me to perform the deeds most beloved to You,

وَ أَنْ تُرْشِدَنِي إِلَى مَا يُزْلِفُنِي عِنْدَكَ

guide me to what brings me closer to You

وَ يُلْبِسَنِي رِضَاكَ

and clothes me in Your satisfaction.

وَ أَنْ تُسَدِّدَنِي إِلَى أَطْيَبِ الْقَوْلِ عِنْدَكَ

Direct me to the sweetest of words in Your sight

وَ أَنْ تَحْشُرَنِي يَوْمَ أَلْقَاكَ [الْقِيَامَةَ] مَعَ خَيْرِ خَلْقِكَ

and gather me on the Day I meet You with the best of Your creation.

وَ تَجْعَلَ مُحَمَّداً وَ أَهْلَ بَيْتِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ شُفَعَائِي

Make Muhammad and his pure family my intercessors,

وَ تَجْعَلَنِي مِنْ حِزْبِهِمْ وَ مَوَالِيهِمْ

include me among their party and their followers.

وَ تَرْزُقَنِي خَيْرَ الدَّارَيْنِ

Grant me the best of the two worlds,

وَ تَصْرِفَ عَنِّي شَرَّ نَفْسِي

and turn away from me the evil of my soul

وَ سَائِرَ مَا تَكْرَهُهُ مِنْ أَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ‌

and all that You dislike from anyone among Your creation.

إِنَّكَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Indeed, You are capable of all things,

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the Merciful.

وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ.

And may Allah send blessings upon our master Muhammad and his pure family.
