اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ يَا مَنْ‌ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ فِي الْأُولى‌ وَ الْآخِرَةِ

O Allah, I ask You, O You whose praise is declared in the beginning and the end,

وَ لَهُ الْحُكْمُ‌ وَ إِلَيْهِ يُرْجَعُ الْأَمْرُ كُلُّهُ‌

to whom belongs judgment, and to whom all affairs are returned.

يَا مَنْ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ‌ بِما فِي صُدُورِ الْعالَمِينَ‌

O You who are most knowledgeable of the hearts of all beings.

يَا مَنْ‌ يَبْدَؤُا الْخَلْقَ ثُمَّ يُعِيدُهُ وَ هُوَ أَهْوَنُ عَلَيْهِ

O You who initiate creation and then repeat it, and it is easier for You,

وَ لَهُ الْمَثَلُ الْأَعْلى‌ فِي السَّماواتِ وَ الْأَرْضِ

and for You is the highest example in the heavens and the earth.

وَ هُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ‌

And He is the Might, the Wise.

يَا مَنْ‌ أَحْسَنَ كُلَّ شَيْ‌ءٍ خَلَقَهُ

O You who perfected everything You created

وَ بَدَأَ خَلْقَ الْإِنْسانِ مِنْ طِينٍ‌

and began the creation of man from clay.

يَا مَنْ هُوَ الْحَقُ‌ وَ هُوَ يَهْدِي السَّبِيلَ‌

O You who are the Truth and guide to the path.

يَا مَنْ رَدَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا بِغَيْظِهِمْ لَمْ يَنالُوا خَيْراً

O You who repelled those who disbelieved in their rage, not achieving any good

وَ كَفَى اللَّهُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ الْقِتالَ

and Allah sufficed the believers in battle,

وَ كانَ اللَّهُ قَوِيًّا عَزِيزاً

for Allah is Strong, Almighty.

يَا مَنْ يَعْلَمُ مَا فِي الْأَرْضِ‌ وَ ما يَخْرُجُ مِنْها

O You who know what is on the earth and what comes out of it,

وَ ما يَنْزِلُ مِنَ السَّماءِ وَ ما يَعْرُجُ فِيها

what descends from the sky, and what ascends in it,

وَ هُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ

and You are the Forgiving, the Merciful.

أَسْأَلُكَ بِمَا أَوْجَبْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ لِمَنْ سَأَلَكَ

I ask You, by what You have obligated upon Yourself for those who ask of You,

وَ بِأَسْمَائِكَ كُلِّهَا وَ بِمَا نَاجَيْتُكَ بِهِ فِي يَوْمِي هَذَا

and by all Your names, and by what I have confided in You today,

أَنْ تُثَبِّتَنِي حَتَّى لَا أَزُولَ [أَزِلَ‌]

to make me steadfast so I do not falter,

وَ أَنْ تَهْدِيَنِي‌ حَتَّى لَا أَضِلَّ

to guide me so I do not go astray,

وَ أَنْ تَمْنَعَنِي أَنْ أَجْهَلَ أَوْ يُجْهَلَ عَلَيَّ

to prevent me from acting ignorantly or being treated with ignorance,

وَ أَنْ أُشَايِعَ فِي سَفْكِ دَمٍ

not to involve me in the shedding of blood unjustly,

وَ لَا تُقَوِّينِي عَلَى ظُلْمِ أَحَدٍ

not to empower me to oppress anyone,

وَ لَا تَجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْقَوْمِ الظَّالِمِينَ

not to make me among the wrongdoers,

وَ لَا تَجْعَلْنِي أُوَالِي لَكَ عَدُوّاً أَوْ أُعَادِي

not to make me ally to Your enemy or oppose Your ally,

لَكَ وَلِيّاً أَوْ أَرْضَى لَكَ بِسَخَطٍ أَوْ أَسْخَطُكَ بِرِضًى

not to make me content with Your displeasure or displease You with what pleases me,

أَوْ أُقْصِي لَكَ طَالِباً أَوْ أُجِيبُ دَاعِياً إِلَى ضَلَالَةٍ

not to reject any of Your seekers or answer any caller to misguidance,

أَوْ أُكَذِّبُ دَاعِياً إِلَى حَقٍّ أَوْ أَجْحَدُ بِآ

not to deny Your signs or to incur Your wrath,

يَاتِكَ أَوْ يَحُلُّ بِي سَخَطُكَ أَوْ أَتَّبِعُ هَوَايَ بِغَيْرِ هُدًى

not to follow my desires without guidance from You,

مِنْكَ أَوْ أَقُولُ‌ لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا هؤُلاءِ أَهْدى‌ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا سَبِيلًا

not to say to those who disbelieve that they are more guided than those who believe.

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ يَا رَبِّ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الْأَخْيَارِ

I ask You, O Lord, to send blessings upon Muhammad and his virtuous family,

وَ تُحَرِّمَ جَسَدِي عَلَى النَّارِ

to forbid my body to the fire,

وَ تَجْعَلَنِي يَا رَبِّ مِنَ الْأَبْرَارِ

to make me, O Lord, among the righteous.

إِنَّكَ رَؤُفٌ رَحِيمٌ‌

Indeed, You are Merciful and Compassionate,

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ‌

by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful.

إِنَّكَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Indeed, You are capable of all things,

وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ.

and may Allah send blessings upon our master Muhammad and his pure family.
