اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ يَا مَنْ جَعَلَ‌ اللَّيْلَ لِباساً

O Allah, I ask You, O You who made the night a garment,

وَ النَّوْمَ سُباتاً وَ جَعَلَ النَّهارَ نُشُوراً

sleep a means of rest, and the day a time of resurrection,

يَا مَنْ‌ أَرْسَلَ الرِّياحَ بُشْراً بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَحْمَتِهِ

O You who sent the winds as heralds of Your mercy,

‌ وَ أَنْزَلَ‌ مِنَ السَّماءِ ماءً طَهُوراً

and sent down from the sky pure water,

يَا مَنْ‌ جَعَلَ فِي السَّماءِ بُرُوجاً

O You who placed fortresses in the sky

وَ جَعَلَ فِيها سِراجاً وَ قَمَراً مُنِيراً

and made therein a lamp and a shining moon,

يَا مَنْ‌ مَرَجَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ‌ ...

O You who let the two seas flow,

وَ جَعَلَ بَيْنَهُما بَرْزَخاً

setting between them a barrier

وَ حِجْراً مَحْجُوراً

and an impassable boundary,

يَا مَنْ‌ جَعَلَ اللَّيْلَ وَ النَّهارَ خِلْفَةً

O You who made the night and the day as a succession

لِمَنْ أَرادَ أَنْ يَذَّكَّرَ أَوْ أَرادَ شُكُوراً

for those who desire to remember or wish to be thankful,

يَا مَنْ أَوْحَى‌ إِلى‌ مُوسى‌ أَنِ اضْرِبْ بِعَصاكَ الْبَحْرَ

O You who inspired Moses to strike the sea with his staff,

فَانْفَلَقَ فَكانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍ كَالطَّوْدِ الْعَظِيمِ‌

splitting it so that each part was like a great towering mountain,

يَا مَنْ‌ جَعَلَ الْأَرْضَ قَراراً وَ جَعَلَ خِلالَها أَنْهاراً

O You who made the earth a dwelling place, placed within it rivers,

وَ جَعَلَ لَها رَواسِيَ وَ جَعَلَ بَيْنَ الْبَحْرَيْنِ حاجِزاً

set firm mountains upon it, and made a barrier between the two seas,

يَا مَنْ‌ يُجِيبُ الْمُضْطَرَّ إِذا دَعاهُ وَ يَكْشِفُ‌ السُّوءَ

O You who respond to the distressed when they call upon You and relieve hardship,

أَسْأَلُكَ يَا اللَّهُ بِمَا نَاجَيْتُكَ بِهِ فِي يَوْمِي هَذَا

I ask You, O Allah, by what I have confided in You today,

أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ

to send blessings upon Muhammad and his pure family.

وَ اجْعَلْ لِي مِنْ أَمْرِي مَخْرَجاً

Make a way out for me from my difficulties,

وَ مِنْ أَمْرِي يُسْراً وَ مِنْ هَمِّي فَرَجاً

ease my affairs, relieve my worries,

وَ ارْزُقْنِي مِنْ حَيْثُ أَحْتَسِبُ وَ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَا أَحْتَسِبُ

provide for me from where I expect and from where I do not,

فَإِنَّكَ تَأْتِي بِالْيُسْرِ بَعْدَ الْعُسْرِ

for indeed You bring ease after hardship,

وَ بِالرَّخَاءِ بَعْدَ الشِّدَّةِ وَ بِالْعَافِيَةِ بَعْدَ الْبَلَاءِ

comfort after distress, well-being after trial,

وَ بِالرَّحْمَةِ بَعْدَ الْقُنُوطِ وَ بِالْغِنَاءِ [بِالْغِنَى‌] بَعْدَ الْفَقْرِ

mercy after despair, prosperity after poverty.

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ يَا رَبِّ حُبَّكَ وَ حُبَّ مَنْ أَحَبَّكَ

And I ask You, O Lord, for Your love, the love of those who love You,

وَ أُحِبُّ عَمَلًا يُقَرِّبُ إِلَى حُبِّكَ

and to love the deed that brings me closer to Your love.

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ‌

By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful,

إِنَّكَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

indeed You are capable of all things,

وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ.

and may Allah send blessings upon our master Muhammad and his pure family.
