اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّ رَحْمَتَكَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ عَمَلِي

O Allah, indeed Your mercy is better than my actions

وَ عَطِيَّتَكَ أَفْضَلُ مِنْ مَسْأَلَتِي

and Your gift is superior to my request.

فَبِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا إِلَهِي وَ بِكَرَمِكَ وَ عِزَّتِكَ

So, by Your mercy, O my God, by Your generosity, Your honor,

وَ ارْتِفَاعِ مَكَانِكَ وَ جَلَالِ وَجْهِكَ

the loftiness of Your station, the majesty of Your countenance,

وَ قُدْرَتِكَ وَ عَظَمَتِكَ وَ سَعَةِ فَضْلِكَ

Your power, Your greatness, and the vastness of Your grace,

أَعْطِنِي خَيْرَ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ فِي هَذَا الشَّهْرِ الْمُكَرَّمِ

grant me the best of this world and the Hereafter in this honored month.

وَ ارْزُقْنِي فِيهِ شُكْراً وَ اسْتَعْمِلْنِي فِيهِ بِطَاعَتِكَ

Provide me within it gratitude and employ me in Your obedience,

حَتَّى أَكُونَ يَوْمَ فَاقَتِي غَنِيّاً فِي لَحْدِي

so that on the day of my need I may be wealthy in my grave,

وَ إِذَا أُفْرِدْتُ فِيهِ آمِناً مِنْ هَوْلِ الْمُطَّلَعِ

and when I am singled out in it, I am secure from the terror of exposure.

وَ أَكُونَ قَبْلَ مَوْتِيَ الْمَغْبُوطُ فِي دَارِ الدُّنْيَا بِسَعَةِ الرِّزْقِ وَ إِصْلَاحِ الشَّأْنِ

Let me be envied in the life of this world for the expansiveness of provision and the rectification of affairs before my death.

اللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَرْجُو بُلُوغَ رِضَاكَ لَا بِعَمَلِي

O Allah, through You alone do I hope to attain Your pleasure, not by my actions.

وَ أَنْتَ يَا إِلَهِي مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ حَسْبِي

You, O my God, are sufficient for everything,

وَ أَنْتَ يَا إِلَهِي لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ

and You, O my God, have no partner,

وَ أَنْتَ إِلَهِي بِي رَءُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ

and You are merciful and kind towards me.

يَا رَبِّ فَلَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ وَجْهِي

O Lord, to You I have submitted my face,

فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ وَ لَكَ الشُّكْرُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ

so to You belongs all praise and thanks for that.

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ ثِقَتِي وَ رَجَائِي

O Allah, You are my trust and hope,

وَ إِلَيْكَ رَغْبَتِي وَ دُعَائِي

towards You is my desire and prayer.

وَ أَنْتَ بِحَاجَتِي عَالِمٌ غَيْرُ مُعَلَّمٍ

You are knowledgeable of my needs without being taught.

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ يَا اللَّهُ أَنْ تَجْعَلَنِي فِي هَذَا الْيَوْمِ مِنْ عُتَقَائِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ

I ask You, O Allah, to make me among those whom You have freed from the Fire on this day,

وَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ اسْمِي فِي أَسْمَاءِ الْأَبْرَارِ وَ الْأَخْيَارِ

and to include my name among the names of the righteous and the good.

إِنَّكَ عَلى‌ كُلِّ شَيْ‌ءٍ قَدِيرٌ

Indeed, You are capable of all things,

وَ ذَلِكَ عَلَيْكَ سَهْلٌ يَسِيرٌ

and that is easy for You.

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ

O Most Merciful of the merciful,

وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى سَيِّدِنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِينَ.

and may Allah send blessings upon our master Muhammad and his pure family.
