بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

bis-millahir-rahmanir-rahim

In the Name of Allah, the All-merciful, the All-compassionate

اللّهُمّ صَلّ عَلَى مُحَمّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمّدٍ

allahumma salli `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

O Allah: (please do) bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ ٱلْحَسَنِ وَٱلْحُسَيْنِ

allahumma salli `ala alhasani walhusayni

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon al-Hasan and al-Husayn,

عَبْدَيْكَ وَوَلِيَّيْكَ

`abdayka wa waliyyayka

Your two servants and friends,

وَٱبْنَيْ رَسُولِكَ وَسِبْطَيِ ٱلرَّحْمَةِ

wabnay rasulika wa sibtay alrrahmati

the two sons of Your Messengers, the two grandsons of Mercy,

وَسَيِّدَيْ شَبَابِ أَهْلِ ٱلْجَنَّةِ

wa sayyiday shababi ahli aljannati

and the two chiefs of the youth of Paradise,

أَفْضَلَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَىٰ أَحَدٍ مِنْ أَوْلاَدِ ٱلنَّبِيِّينَ وَٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ

afdala ma sallayta `ala ahadin min awladi alnnabiyyina walmursalina

with the most excellent blessings that You have ever sent upon any of the sons of the Prophets and the Messengers.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ ٱلْحَسَنِ ٱبْنِ سَيِّدِ ٱلنَّبِيِّينَ

allahumma salli `ala alhasani ibni sayyidi alnnabiyyina

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon al-Hasan the son of the chief of the Prophets

وَوَصِيِّ أَمِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

wa wasiyyi amiri almu'minina

and the successor of the Commander of the Faithful.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ

as-salamu `alayka yabna rasuli allahi

Peace be upon you, O son of Allah's Messenger.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ سَيِّدِ ٱلْوَصِيِّينَ

as-salamu `alayka yabna sayyidi alwasiyyina

Peace be upon you, O son of the chief of the Prophets’ successors.

أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ يَا بْنَ أَمِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

ashhadu annaka yabna amiri almu'minina

I bear witness that you are verily the son of the Commander of the Faithful,

أَمِينُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱبْنُ أَمِينِهِ

aminu allahi wabnu aminihi

the trustee of Allah, and the son of His trustee.

عِشْتَ رَشِيداً مَظْلُوماً

`ishta rashidan mazluman

You lived upright and persecuted

وَمَضَيْتَ شَهِيداً

wa madayta shahidan

and passed away as martyr.

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ ٱلإِمَامُ ٱلزَّكِيُّ

wa ashhadu annaka al-imamu alzzakiyyu

And I bear witness that you are verily the pure,

ٱلْهَادِي ٱلْمَهْدِيُّ

alhadi almahdiyyu

guiding, and well-guided leader.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَيْهِ

allahumma salli `alayhi

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon him

وَبَلِّغْ رُوحَهُ وَجَسَدَهُ عَنِّي

wa balligh ruhahu wa jasadahu `anni

and convey to his soul and body

فِي هٰذِهِ ٱلسَّاعَةِ أَفْضَلَ ٱلتَّحِيَّةِ وَٱلسَّلاَمِ

fi hadhihi alssa`ati afdala alttahiyyati walssalami

at this hour the best greeting and salutation from me.

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ ٱلْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ

allahumma salli `ala alhusayni ibni `aliyyin

O Allah, (please) send blessings upon al-Husayn the son of `Ali,

ٱلْمَظْلُومِ ٱلشَّهِيدِ

almazlumi alshshahidi

the oppressed, the martyr,

قَتِيلِ ٱلْكَفَرَةِ وَطَرِيحِ ٱلْفَجَرَةِ

qatili alkafarati wa tarihi alfajarati

the slain by the unbelievers, and the thrown down by the sinful people.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ ٱللَّهِ

as-salamu `alayka ya aba `abdi allahi

Peace be upon you, O Abu-`Abdullah.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ

as-salamu `alayka yabna rasuli allahi

Peace be upon you, O son of Allah's Messenger.

اَلسَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بْنَ أَمِيرِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

as-salamu `alayka yabna amiri almu'minina

Peace be upon you, O son of the Commander of the Faithful.

أَشْهَدُ مُوقِناً أَنَّكَ أَمِينُ ٱللَّهِ وَٱبْنُ أَمِينِهِ

ashhadu muqinan annaka aminu allahi wabnu aminihi

I bear witness with full conviction that you are verily the trustee of Allah and the son of His trustee.

قُتِلْتَ مَظْلُوماً وَمَضَيْتَ شَهِيداً

qutilta mazluman wa madayta shahidan

You were killed wrongly and you passed away as martyr.

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ تَعَالَىٰ ٱلطَّالِبُ بِثَأْرِكَ

wa ashhadu anna allaha ta`ala alttalibu bitha'rika

I also bear witness that Allah the All-exalted is the One Who shall avenge You

وَمُنْجِزٌ مَا وَعَدَكَ مِنَ ٱلنَّصْرِ وَٱلتَّأْيِيدِ

wa munjizun ma wa`adaka min alnnasri waltta'yidi

and shall fulfill His promise to You of support and victory

فِي هَلاَكِ عَدُوِّكَ وَإِظْهَارِ دَعْوَتِكَ

fi halaki `aduwwika wa izhari da`watika

through exterminating your enemies and demonstrating your call (to the true guidance).

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ وَفَيْتَ بِعَهْدِ ٱللَّهِ

wa ashhadu annaka wafayta bi`ahdi allahi

I also bear witness that you fulfilled your covenant with Allah,

وَجَاهَدْتَ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ

wa jahadta fi sabili allahi

strove hard for His sake,

وَعَبَدْتَ ٱللَّهَ مُخْلِصاً حَتَّىٰ أَتَاكَ ٱلْيَقِينُ

wa `abadta allaha mukhlisan hatta ataka alyaqinu

and served Allah sincerely until death came upon you.

لَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ أُمَّةً قَتَلَتْكَ

la`ana allahu ummatan qatalatka

May Allah curse the people who killed you.

وَلَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ أُمَّةً خَذَلَتْكَ

wa la`ana allahu ummatan khadhalatka

May Allah curse the people who disappointed you.

وَلَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ أُمَّةً أَلَّبَتْ عَلَيْكَ

wa la`ana allahu ummatan allabat `alayka

May Allah curse the people who incited people against you.

وَأَبْرَأُ إِلَىٰ ٱللَّهِ تَعَالَىٰ مَمَّنْ كَذَّبَكَ

wa abra'u ila allahi ta`ala mamman kadhdhabaka

I release myself before Allah the All-exalted from those who belied you,

وَٱسْتَخَفَّ بِحَقِّكَ وَٱسْتَحَلَّ دَمَكَ

wa istakhaffa bihaqqika wa istahalla damaka

belittled your right, and allowed themselves to shed your blood.

بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ ٱللَّهِ

bi'abi anta wa ummi ya aba `abdi allahi

May my father and mother be ransoms for you.

لَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ قَاتِلَكَ

la`ana allahu qatilaka

Allah's curse be on those who killed you.

وَلَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ خَاذِلَكَ

wa la`ana allahu khadhilaka

Allah's curse be on those who let you down.

وَلَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ مَنْ سَمِعَ وَاعِيَتَكَ فَلَمْ يُجِبْكَ وَلَمْ يَنْصُرْكَ

wa la`ana allahu man sami`a wa`iyataka falam yujibka wa lam yansurka

Allah's curse be on those who heard your call (for help), but they refrained from responding to you or supporting you.

وَلَعَنَ ٱللَّهُ مَنْ سَبَىٰ نِسَاءَكَ

wa la`ana allahu man saba nisa'aka

Allah's curse be on those who captured your women.

أَنَا إِلَىٰ ٱللَّهِ مِنْهُمْ بَرِيءٌ وَمِمَّنْ وَالاَهُمْ

ana ila allahi minhum bari'un wa mimman walahum

I disavow them all before Allah and disavow those who adhered to them,

وَمَاَلأَهُمْ وَأَعَانَهُمْ عَلَيْهِ

wa mala'ahum wa a`anahum `alayhi

those who kept up with them, and those who helped them against you.

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ وَٱلأَئِمَّةَ مِنْ وُلْدِكَ كَلِمَةُ ٱلتَّقْوَىٰ

wa ashhadu annaka wal-a'immata min wuldika kalimatu alttaqwai

I also bear witness that you and the Imams from your descendants are the word of piety,

وَبَابُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَٱلْعُرْوَةُ ٱلْوُثْقَىٰ

wa babu alhuda wal`urwatu alwuthqai

the door to true guidance, the firmest handle,

وَٱلْحُجَّةُ عَلَىٰ أَهْلِ ٱلدُّنْيَا

walhujjatu `ala ahli alddunya

and the argument against the inhabitants of this world.

وَأَشْهَدُ أَنِّي بِكُمْ مُؤْمِنٌ

wa ashhadu anni bikum mu'minun

I also bear witness that I have full faith in you,

وَبِمَنْزِلَتِكُمْ مُوقِنٌ

wa bimanzilatikum muqinun

I have conviction in your standing,

وَلَكُمْ تَابِعٌ بِذَاتِ نَفْسِي

wa lakum tabi`un bidhati nafsi

and I always follow you in myself,

وَشَرَائِعِ دِينِي وَخَوَاتِيمِ عَمَلِي

wa shara'i`i dini wa khawatimi `amali

in the laws of my religion, in my sealing deeds,

وَمُنْقَلَبِي وَمَثْوَايَ فِي دُنْيَايَ وَآخِرَتِي

wa munqalabi wa mathwaya fi dunyaya wa akhirati

in my tour, and in my settlement in this worldly life and the Hereafter.
