اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الرَّبُّ وَ أَنَا الْعَبْدُ قَضَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ الرَّحْمَةَ وَ دَلَلْتَنِي

O my God! You are the Lord and I am the servant! You have decreed Mercy on Yourself, and have directed me towards it.

وَ أَنْتَ الصَّادِقُ الْبَارُّ يَدَاكَ مَبْسُوطَتَانِ تُنْفِقُ كَيْفَ تَشَاءُ

And You are honest and righteous. Your hands are extended and You bestow in any way that You wish

لَا يُلْحِفُكَ سَائِلٌ وَ لَا يَنْقُصُكَ نَائِلٌ وَ لَا يَزِيدُكَ كَثْرَةُ السُّؤَالِ إِلَّا عَطَاءً وَ جُوداً

You are He who is not troubled by those who ask and nothing is lessened from You when You reward. The extent of demands from You does not increase anything but Your Bestowal and Generosity

أَسْأَلُكَ قَلْباً وَجِلًا مِنْ مَخَافَتِكَ أُدْرِكُ بِهِ جَنَّةَ رِضْوَانِكَ

I ask You for a heart frightful of Your Fear with which I may reach the Paradise of Your Pleasure

وَ أَمْضِي بِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ مَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَ أَرْضَاكَ عَمَلُهُ وَ أَرْضَيْتَهُ فِي ثَوَابِكَ

and follow the way that You like and You are plessed with, and it gets pleased with Your Rewards

حَتَّى تُبْلِغَنِي بِذَلِكَ ثِقَةُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ بِكَ وَ أَمَانُ الْخَائِفِينَ مِنْكَ

so that with it I may attain the trust of the believers in You, and shelter of those scared of You

اللَّهُمَّ وَ مَا أَعْطَيْتَنِي مِنْ عَطَاءٍ فَاجْعَلْهُ شُغُلًا فِيمَا تُحِبُّ

O my God! Please let whatever of Your Gifts which You bestow upon me be as a means of doing what You like

وَ مَا زَوَيْتَ عَنِّي فَاجْعَلْهُ فَرَاغاً لِي فِيمَا تُحِبُّ

and let whatever You withhold from me be as a means of freedom for me in doing what You like.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ قَصَمْتَ الْجَبَابِرَةَ بِجَبَرُوتِكَ وَ بَسَطْتَ كَفَّكَ عَلَى الْخَلَائِقِ

O my God! You defeated the oppressors with Your Omnipotence, extended Your Hand to the creatures

وَ أَقْسَمْتَ أَنَّكَ حَيٌّ قَيُّومُ

swore that You are the Living, the Eternal.

وَ كَذَلِكَ أَنْتَ تَنْقَطِعُ حِيَلَ الْمُبْطِلِينَ وَ مَكْرَهُمْ دُونَكَ

You are so and the tricks and the plots of the wicked are not working against You

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ [وَ آلِهِ‌] وَ ارْزُقْنِي مُوَالاةَ مَنْ وَالَيْتَ وَ مُعَادَاةَ مَنْ عَادَيْتَ

O my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny. O God! Please bless me with the friendship of whoever is Your Friend; and animosity with whoever is Your enemy

وَ حُبّاً لِمَنْ أَحْبَبْتَ وَ بُغْضاً لِمَنْ أَبْغَضْتَ حَتَّى لَا أُوَالِي لَكَ عَدُوّاً وَ لَا أُعَادِي لَكَ وَلِيّاً

love for whoever loves You; and despise for whoever despises You so that I never become friends with Your enemies, or become the enemy of Your Friends

أَشْكُو إِلَيْكَ يَا رَبِّ خَطِيئَةً أَغْشَتْ بَصَرِي وَ أَظَلَّتْ عَلَى قَلْبِي وَ فِي‌ طَرِيقِ الْخَاطِئِينَ صَرَعَتْنِي

O Lord! I complain to You about offenses that blocked my sight, darkened my heart, and threw me in the path of the wrongdoers

فَهَذِهِ يَدِي رَهِينَةٌ فِي وَثَاقِكَ بِمَا جَنَيْتُ عَلَى نَفْسِي

These are my two hands that are in Your Chains since I have oppressed myself

وَ هَذِهِ رِجْلِي مُوثَقَةٌ فِي حِبَالِكَ بِاكْتِسَابِي

and these are my two feet that are in Your Chains for what I have done.

فَلَوْ كَانَ هَرَبِي إِلَى جَبَلٍ يُلْجِئُنِي أَوْ مَفَازَةٍ تُوَارِينِي أَوْ بَحْرٍ يُنْجِينِي لَكُنْتُ الْعَائِذَ بِكَ مِنْ ذُنُوبِي

If I could run away somewhere to take refuge, or go to a desert where I could hide, or go to the sea where I could be saved, I would certainly take refuge in You from my sins

َسأْتَعِيذُكَ عِيَاذَةَ مَهْمُومٍ حَزِينٍ كَئِيبٍ يَرْقُبُ نَارَ السَّمُومِ

I take refuge in You like a depressed grievous one who is awaiting the flames of a burning Fire

اللَّهُمَّ يَا مُجَلِّيَ عَظَائِمِ الْهُمُومِ

O my God! O remover of great griefs. Please remove all my anxieties

جَلِّ عَنِّي هَمَّةَ الْهُمُومِ وَ أَجِرْنِي مِنْ نَارٍ تَقْصِمُ عِظَامِي وَ تُحْرِقُ أَحْشَائِي وَ تُفَرِّقُ قُوَايَ

Save me from the Fire that shall break my bones, burn my body, and destroy my strength

اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِي صَبْرَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اجْعَلْنِي أَنْتَظِرُ أَمْرَهُمْ

O God! Please bless me with the perseverance of the Household of Muhammad (MGB). Please establish me as one of those awaiting their Rule

وَ اجْعَلْنِي مِنْ أَنْصَارِهِمْ وَ أَعْوَانِهِمْ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ

Please establish me as their helpers and supporters in this world and the Hereafter.

اللَّهُمَّ أَحْيِنِي مَحْيَاهُمْ وَ أَمِتْنِي مَيْتَتَهُمْ

Please let me live as one who lives for them, and take away my life as one who dies for them

اللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِهِمْ سُؤْلَهُمْ فِي وَلِيِّهِمْ وَ عَدُوِّهِمْ

Please grant me what they ask regarding their friends and enemies

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّبْعِ الْمَثَانِي وَ الْقُرْآنِ [وَ الْفُرْقَانِ‌] الْعَظِيمِ وَ رَبَّ جَبْرَئِيلَ وَ مِيكَائِيلَ

O my God! Lord of ‘the Seven Oft-repeated (verses)’ and the Grand Quran, Lord of Gabriel and Michael!

أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَنْ تَقْبَلَ صَوْمِي وَ صَلَاتِي

I ask You to bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny; and accept my fasting and praying

Then ask for what you need and say the following:

اللَّهُمَّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ فِي هَذَا الشَّهْرِ الْعَظِيمِ مِنْ كُلِّ ذَنْبٍ يَحْبِسُ رِزْقِي

O my God! I take refuge in You in this great month from all sins that may restrain my sustenance

أَوْ يَحْجُبُ مَسْأَلَتِي أَوْ يَبْطُلُ صَوْمِي أَوْ يَصُدُّ بِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيمِ عَنِّي

block my asking, or void my fast, or turn Your Noble Face away from me

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَ اغْفِرْ لِي مَا لَا يَضُرُّكَ

O my God! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny, please forgive me what would not harm You

وَ أَعْطِنِي مَا لَا يَنْقُصُكَ فِي هَذِهِ اللَّيْلَةِ فَإِنِّي فَقِيرٌ إِلَى رَحْمَتِكَ

Please grant me what would not diminish near You on this night. Verily I am poor and in need of Your Mercy.
