ِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful

يَا مَادَّ ٱلظِّلِّ

ya madda aldhilli

O Spreader of the shade

وَلَوْ شِئْتَ لَجَعَلْتَهُ سَاكِناً

wa law shi'ta laja`altahu sakinan

and if You willed, You could make it still,

وَجَعَلْتَ ٱلشَّمْسَ عَلَيْهِ دَلِيلاً

wa ja`alta alshshamsa `alayhi dalilan

then You have made the sun its pilot,

ثُمَّ قَبَضْتَهُ إِلَيْكَ قَبْضاً يَسِيراً

thumma qabadtahu ilayka qabdan yasiran

then You withdraw it to Us, a gradual withdrawal!

يَاذَا ٱلْجُودِ وَٱلطَّوْلِ

ya dha aljudi walttawli

O Lord of magnanimity, conferral,

وَٱلْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَٱلآلاَءِ

walkibrya'i wal-ala'i

greatness, and bounties!

لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ انْتَ

la ilaha illa anta

There is no god save You!

عَالِمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ وَٱلشَّهَادَةِ

`alimu alghaybi walshshahadati

You are the Knower of the hidden and the witnessed,

ٱلرَّحْمٰنُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ

alrrahmanu alrrahimu

the All-beneficent, the All-merciful!

لاَ إِلٰهَ إِلاَّ انْتَ

la ilaha illa anta

There is no god save You.

يَا قُدُّوسُ يَا سَلاَمُ

ya quddusu ya salamu

O All-holy! O (Source of) Peace!

يَا مُؤْمِنُ يَا مُهَيْمِنُ

ya mu'minu ya muhayminu

O Grantor of security! O Dominant!

يَا عَزِيزُ يَا جَبَّارُ

ya `azizu ya jabbaru

O Mighty! O Omnipotent!

يَا مُتَكَبِّرُ يَا اللَّهُ

ya mutakabbiru ya allahu

O All-great! O Allah!

يَا خَالِقُ يَا بَارِئُ يَا مُصَوِّرُ

ya khaliqu ya bari'u ya musawwiru

O Creator! O Maker! O Fashioner!

يَا اللَّهُ يَا اللَّهُ يَا اللَّهُ

ya allahu ya allahu ya allahu

O Allah! O Allah! O Allah!

لَكَ ٱلاسْمَاءُ ٱلْحُسْنَىٰ

laka al-asma'u alhusna

To You are the Most Excellent Names,

وَٱلامْثَالُ ٱلْعُلْيَا

wal-amthalu al`ulya

the most elevated examples,

وَٱلْكِبْرِيَاءُ وَٱلآلاَءُ

walkibriya’u wal-ala'u

greatness, and bounties.

اسْالُكَ انْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

as'aluka an tusalliya `ala muhammadin wa ali muhammadin

I beseech You to bless Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad,

وَانْ تَجْعَلَ ٱسْمِي فِي هٰذِهِ ٱللَّيْلَةِ فِي ٱلسُّعَدَاءِ

wa an taj`ala ismi fi hadhihi allaylati fi alssu`ada'i

include my name with the list of the happiest ones,

وَرُوحِي مَعَ ٱلشُّهَدَاءِ

wa ruhi ma`a alshshuhada'i

add my soul to the martyrs,

وَإِحْسَانِي فِي عِلِّيِّينَ

wa ihsani fi `illiyyina

record my good deeds in the most exalted rank,

وَإِسَاءَتِي مَغْفُورَةً

wa isa'ati maghfuratan

decide my offense to be forgiven,

وَانْ تَهَبَ لِي يَقِيناً تُبَاشِرُ بِهِ قَلْبِي

wa an tahaba li yaqinan tubashiru bihi qalbi

grant me certitude that fills in my heart

وَإِيـمَاناً يُذْهِبُ ٱلشَّكَّ عَنِّي

wa imanan yudhhibu alshshakka `anni

and faith that removes doubt from me,

وَتُرْضِيَنِي بِمَا قَسَمْتَ لِي

wa turdiyani bima qasamta li

make me feel satisfied with that which You decide for me,

وَآتِنَا فِي ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً

wa atina fi alddunya hasanatan

grant us reward in this world

وَفِي ٱلآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً

wa fi al-akhirati hasanatan

and reward in the Hereafter,

وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ٱلْحَرِيقِ

wa qina `adhaba alnnari alhariqi

save us from the torment of the burning Fire,

وَٱرْزُقْنِي فِيهَا ذِكْرَكَ وَشُكْرَكَ وَٱلرَّغْبَةَ إِلَيْكَ

warzuqni fiha dhikraka wa shukraka walrraghbata ilayka

and confer upon us at this night Your mentioning, thanking You, desiring for You,

وَٱلإِنَابَةَ وَٱلتَّوْفِيقَ لِمَا وَفَّقْتَ لَهُ مُحَمَّداً وَآلَ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَيْهِمُ ٱلسَّلاَمُ

wal-inabata walttawfiqa lima waffaqta lahu muhammadan wa ala muhammadin `alayhi wa `alayhimu alssalamu

turning to You, and success to that to which You led Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, peace be upon him and them.
