اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَأْنِسُ الْعَمَلَ وَ أَرْجُو الْعَفْوَ

“O‟ my God! I shall start my deeds hoping for Your Pardon.

وَ هَذِهِ أَوَّلُ لَيْلَةٍ مِنْ لَيَالِي الثُّلُثَيْنِ

This is the first night of the remaining ten nights.from the 2nd 1/3rd

وَ أَدْعُوكَ بِأَسْمَائِكَ الْحُسْنَى

I call upon You by Your Beautiful Names.

وَ أَسْتَجِيرُ بِكَ مِنْ نَارِكَ الَّتِي لَا تُطْفَى

I seek sanctuary in You from Your Fire which shall not cool

وَ أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُقَوِّيَنِي عَلَى قِيَامِ هَذَا الشَّهْرِ [قِيَامِهِ‌] وَ صِيَامِهِ

and ask You to strengthen me to stay up at night and fast,

وَ أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي وَ تَرْحَمَنِي‌ إِنَّكَ لا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعادَ

and I ask You to forgive me and have mercy on me for You never break Your promise.

اللَّهُمَّ بِرَحْمَتِكَ الَّتِي‌ وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْ‌ءٍ [بِهَا] تَتِمُّ الصَّالِحَاتُ

O‟ my God! I ask You by Your Mercy which encompasses all things with which good deeds are perfected,

وَ عَلَيْهَا اتَّكَلْتُ

and upon which I rely!

وَ أَنْتَ الصَّمَدُ الَّذِي‌ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَ لَمْ يُولَدْ وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُواً أَحَدٌ

You are the Eternal, Absolute One who „begetteth not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him!‟

صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (MGB),

وَ اغْفِرْ لِي وَ اعْفُ عَنِّي [وَ ارْحَمْنِي‌] وَ تَجَاوَزْ عَنِّي‌

forgive me and have mercy on me and overlook my transgression.

إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ‌.

Verily You are the Ever-Relenting, the Merciful!‟ ”
