يَا ذَا الْمَنِّ وَ الْإِحْسَانِ يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَ الْإِكْرَامِ يَا ذَا الْجُودِ وَ الْإِفْضَالِ
“O‟ Lord of Favors and Kindness! O‟ Lord of Majesty, Bounty and Honor! O‟ Lord of Generosity and Favors!
يَا ذَا الطَّوْلِ يَا لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
O‟ He who is Benevolent! O‟ „There is no God but You‟!
ظَهْرَ اللَّاجِينَ وَ أَمَانَ الْخَائِفِينَ
You are Protection for those who seek protection! O‟ Shelter of the frightened ones.
إِنْ كُنْتَ كَتَبْتَنِي فِي أُمِّ الْكِتَابِ شَقِيّاً فَاكْتُبْنِي عِنْدَكَ سَعِيداً مُوَفَّقاً لِلْخَيْرِ وَ امْحُ اسْمَ الشَّقَاءِ عَنِّي
If it is the case that You have recorded me as one of the wretched ones in the Mother of the Books, please now record me as one of the prosperous ones who succeed in doing good deeds, and remove my name from the list of the wretched ones.
فَإِنَّكَ قُلْتَ فِي الْكِتَابِ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ عَلَى نَبِيِّكَ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ يَمْحُوا اللَّهُ ما يَشاءُ وَ يُثْبِتُ وَ عِنْدَهُ أُمُّ الْكِتابِ
You yourself said the following in the Book which You sent down to Your Prophet (as), „Allah doth blot out or confirm what He pleaseth: with Him is the Mother of the Book.‟11 The Holy Qur‟an: Al-Ra'ed 13:39.
اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِي طَيِّباً وَ اسْتَعْمِلْنِي صَالِحاً
O‟ God! Please bless me with pure sustenance and engage me in good deeds.
اللَّهُمَّ امْنُنْ عَلَيَّ بِالرِّزْقِ الْوَاسِعِ الْحَلَالِ الطَّيِّبِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ تَكُونُ لَكَ الْمِنَّةُ عَلَيَّ وَ تَكُونُ لِي غِنًى عَنْ خَلْقِكَ
O‟ my God! Please favor me with legitimate and Pure Extensive Sustenance due to Your Mercy so as it be a favor from You to me, so as to make me needless of Your creatures.
خَالِصاً لَيْسَ لِأَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ مِنْهُ [مِنْهُ مِنْ غَيْرِكَ] مِنْ غَيْرِكَ وَ اجْعَلْنَا فِيهِ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
Let it be pure with no mentioning by any of Your creatures but You. Let us be amongst those who thank You.
وَ لَا تَفْضَحْنِي يَوْمَ التَّلاقِ
Please do not disgrace me on the Day of Encounter!
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ السَّعَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا
O‟ my God! I ask you for prosperity in the world.
وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ السَّرَفِ فِيهَا
I take refuge in You from wasting it!
وَ أَسْأَلُكَ الزُّهْدَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْحِرْصِ عَلَيْهَا
I ask You to grant me abstinence it this world! And I take refuge in You from being greedy of it!
وَ أَسْأَلُكَ الْغِنَى فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْفَقْرِ فِيهَا
I ask You for wealth in this world, and I take refuge in You from being poor in it.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ بَسَطْتَ عَلَيَّ فِي الدُّنْيَا فَزَهِّدْنِي فِيهَا
O‟ my God! If You grant me Extensive Sustenance in this world, please make me abstain from it.
وَ إِنْ قَتَّرْتَ عَلَيَّ رِزْقِي فَلَا تُرَغِّبْنِي فِيهَا.
If You give me little sustenance, please make me inclined to it.”
