اللَّهُمَّ غَارَتْ نُجُومُ سَمَائِكَ

“O‟ my God! The stars in Your sky have gone far away!

وَ نَامَتْ عُيُونُ أَنَامِكَ

The eyes of Your people have fallen asleep!

وَ هَدَأَتْ أَصْوَاتُ عِبَادِكَ وَ أَنْعَامِكَ

The sounds of Your Servants and animals have become silent!

وَ غَلَّقَتْ مُلُوكُ الْأَرْضِ عَلَيْهَا أَبْوَابَهَا وَ طَافَتْ عَلَيْهَا حُرَّاسُهَا

The kings of the earth have shut their doors with guards encircling them.

وَ احْتَجَبُوا عَمَّنْ يَسْأَلُهُمْ حَاجَةً أَوْ يَنْتَجِعُ مِنْهُمْ فَائِدَةً

Thus they hide themselves from those who may want to ask them for the fulfillment ofeed, or demand to gain some benefit from them.

وَ أَنْتَ إِلَهِي حَيٌّ قَيُّومٌ لَا تَأْخُذُكَ سِنَةٌ وَ لَا نَوْمٌ

And You are my God! The Living! The Eternal! No slumber can seize You or sleep.

وَ لَا يَشْغَلُكَ شَيْ‌ءٌ عَنْ شَيْ‌ءٍ

Nothing shall hinder you from nothing else.

أَبْوَابُ سَمَاوَاتِكَ لِمَنْ دَعَاكَ مُفَتَّحَاتٌ وَ خَزَائِنُكَ غَيْرُ مُغَلَّقَاتٍ

The gates of Your heavens are open to whoever calls You, and Your Treasures are not shut closed.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَوْدِعُكَ وَ أَسْتَحْفِظُكَ بِأَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ وَ النُّورُ الْقُدُّوسُ

O‟ my God! I entrust You and seek Your Protection by „There is no God but You – the Living, the Eternal, the Light and the Holy One.‟

نَفْسِي وَ رُوحِي وَ رِزْقِي وَ مَحْيَايَ وَ مَمَاتِي وَ أَنْفُسَ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَنْفُسَ أَشْيَاعِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ جَمِيعَ مَا تَفَضَّلْتَ بِهِ عَلَيَّ وَ عَلَيْهِمْ

I entrust myself, my soul, my sustenance, my life, my death, the souls of the Progeny of Muhammad (as), the souls of Muhammad‟s followers, and all You have favored me and them with,

حَيّاً وَمَيِّتاً وَ شَاهِداً وَ غَائِباً وَ نَائِماً وَ يَقْظَانَ وَ قَائِماً وَ قَاعِداً وَ مُسْتَخِفّاً وَ مُتَهَاوِناً

dead or alive, present or absent, sleeping or awake, standing or sitting, even if I consider them to be little and minor.

بِنُورِ وَجْهِكَ [وَ بِنُورِ وَجْهِكَ‌] الْكَرِيمِ الْجَلِيلِ الرَّفِيعِ الْعَظِيمِ الْقَائِمِ بِالْقِسْطِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ

I ask You by the Light of Your Face- the Benevolent – the Most Majestic! Standing firm on justice! That there is no God but God the Almighty, the All-Wise.

وَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

I ask You by Muhammad and his Progeny (as) – the Immaculte, the pure ones to bestow Your Blessings upon them all.

يَا وَلِيَّ النَّبِيِّينَ وَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ وَ مَلَائِكَتِكَ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَجْمَعِينَ

O‟ Guardian of the Prophets (as) and Messengers (as), and Your nearby-stationed angels- May Your Blessings be upon them.

يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ وَ بَيْتِكَ الْمَعْمُورِ وَ السَّبْعِ الْمَثَانِي وَ الْقُرْآنِ الْعَظِيمِ وَ بِكُلِّ مَنْ يُكْرَمُ عَلَيْكَ مِنْ جَمِيعِ خَلْقِكَ

O‟ Lord of the worlds! O‟ my Master! I ask You by the Canopy Raised High; by „the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur‟an.‟1, and by all Your Creatures who are honored by You.

يَا سَيِّدِي مَعَ مَا تَفَضَّلْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَ عَلَيْنَا فَاجْعَلْنَا فِي حِمَاكَ الَّذِي لَا يُسْتَبَاحُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.

Please let us be under Your Own Support that cannot be violated along with all You have bestowed upon us and them - by Your Mercy – O‟ the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.‟
