اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِي دَانَ لَهُ كُلُّ شَيْءٍ وَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ الَّتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَ بِعِزَّتِكَ الَّتِي قَهَرَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَ بِعَظَمَتِكَ الَّتِي تَوَاضَعَ لَهَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ وَ بِقُوَّتِكَ الَّتِي خَضَعَ لَهَا كُلُّ شَيْءٍ وَ بِجَبَرُوتِكَ الَّتِي غَلَبَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ وَ بِعِلْمِكَ الَّذِي أَحاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ
“O‟ God! I ask You, in the name of Your Name before which everything kneels down, in the name of Your Mercy which encompasses everything; in the name of Your Might which subdues everything and by Your Grandeur to which all things are humble by Your Strength to which all things are humble and by Your Omnipotence which has conquered all things and by Your Knowledge which encompasses all things.
يَا نُورُ يَا قُدُّوسُ يَا أَوَّلُ قَبْلَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَ يَا بَاقِي بَعْدَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ
O‟ Light! O‟ Holy One! O‟ the First before everything! O‟ Everlasting after all things.
يَا اللَّهُ يَا رَحْمَانُ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
O‟ God! O‟ Beneficent! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as).
وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُغَيِّرُ النِّعَمَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُنْزِلُ النِّقَمَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَقْطَعُ الرَّجَاءَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُدِيلُ الْأَعْدَاءَ
Forgive me for my sins that would change Divine Favors. Please forgive me for my sins that would bring down misfortunes. And forgive me for my sins that would cut off hope. Forgive me for my sins that would allow enemies to lay hands on me.
وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَرُدُّ الدُّعَاءَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُنْزِلُ الْبَلَاءَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَحْبِسُ غَيْثَ السَّمَاءِ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَكْشِفُ الْغِطَاءَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُعَجِّلُ الْفَنَاءَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تُورِثُ النَّدَمَ وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَهْتِكُ الْعِصَمَ [وَ اغْفِرْ لِيَ الذُّنُوبَ الَّتِي تَرْفَعُ الْقِسَمِ]
Forgive me for my sins that would nullify supplications. Forgive me for my sins that would bring down calamities. Forgive me for my sins that would hold off rain from the sky. Forgive me for my sins that would expose what has been forgotten. Forgive me for my sins that would expedite destruction. Forgive me for my sins that would result in remorse. Forgive me for my sins that would ruin my integrity and bless me with Your Impregnable Protective Covering which never collapses.
وَ أَلْبِسْنِي دِرْعَكَ الْحَصِينَةَ الَّتِي لَا تُرَامُ وَ عَافِنِي مِنْ شَرِّ مَا أَخَافُ بِاللَّيْلِ وَ النَّهَارِ فِي مُسْتَقْبَلِ سَنَتِي هَذِهِ
Please safeguard me from the evils which may frighten me by threats, day in and day out, throughout this year.
اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ السَّمَوَاتِ السَّبْعِ وَ رَبَّ الْأَرَضِينَ السَّبْعِ وَ مَا فِيهِنَّ وَ مَا بَيْنَهُنَّ وَ رَبَّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ
O‟ my God! Lord of the seven heavens and the seven layers of the earth and all that is therein and all that is between them.
وَ رَبَّ السَّبْعِ الْمَثَانِي وَ الْقُرْآنِ الْعَظِيمِ
O‟ Lord of the Throne Supreme! O‟ Lord of „the Seven Oftrepeated (verses) and the Grand Qur‟an‟ .
وَ رَبَّ إِسْرَافِيلَ وَ مِيكَائِيلَ وَ جَبْرَئِيلَ وَ رَبَّ مُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ وَ سَيِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِينَ
O‟ Lord of Israfil, Michael, and Gabriel! O‟ Lord of Muhammad (as) – the Seal of the Prophets (as) and the Master of the Messengers (as).
أَسْأَلُكَ بِكَ وَ بِمَا تَسَمَّيْتَ بِهِ [سَمَّيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ] يَا عَظِيمُ أَنْتَ الَّذِي تَمُنُّ بِالْعَظِيمِ وَ تَدْفَعُ كُلَّ مَحْذُورٍ وَ تُعْطِي كُلَّ جَزِيلٍ وَ تُضَاعِفُ مِنَ الْحَسَنَاتِ الْكَثِيرِ بِالْقَلِيلِ وَ تَفْعَلُ مَا تَشَاءُ
I ask You in Your Name and in Name of that which You referred to Yourself. O‟ the All-Mighty! You are He who gives great favors, fends off all dangers, gives abundant things, and rewards a lot in exchange for a little. You do what You Will.
يَا قَدِيرُ يَا اللَّهُ يَا رَحْمَانُ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَلْبِسْنِي فِي مُسْتَقْبَلِ سَنَتِي هَذِهِ سِتْرَكَ
O‟ Almighty! O‟ God! O‟ Merciful! Please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as) and cover me with Your Protection during this year.
وَ أَضِئْ وَجْهِي بِنُورِكَ وَ أَحِبَّنِي [أَحْيِنِي] بِمَحَبَّتِكَ وَ بَلِّغْ بِي رِضْوَانَكَ وَ شَرِيفَ كَرَائِمِكَ وَ جَزِيلَ [جَسِيمَ] عَطَائِكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا عِنْدَكَ وَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا أَنْتَ مُعْطِيهِ أَحَداً مِنْ خَلْقِكَ سِوَى مَنْ لَا يَعْدِلُهُ عِنْدَكَ أَحَدٌ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَ الْآخِرَةِ وَ أَلْبِسْنِي مَعَ ذَلِكَ عَافِيَتَكَ
Illuminate my face with Your Light, love me with Your Love, and let Your Pleasure and Abundant Gifts reach me. The best of what is with You, and the best of what You have ever bestowed to any of Your creatures except for the one no one equals to in this world and the Hereafter.Also bless me with well-being.
يَا مَوْضِعَ كُلِّ شَكْوَى وَ يَا شَاهِدَ كُلِّ نَجْوَى وَ يَا عَالِمَ كُلِّ خَفِيَّةٍ وَ يَا دَافِعَ مَا تَشَاءُ مِنْ بَلِيَّةٍ يَا كَرِيمَ الْعَفْوِ يَا حَسَنَ التَّجَاوُزِ
O‟ He who settles all complaints! O‟ He who sees clearly all that is whispered! O‟ He who knows all which is kept undisclosed! O‟ He who protects from calamities whenever He Wills! O‟ Generous one who Pardons! O‟ He who overlooks faults!
تَوَفَّنِي عَلَى مِلَّةِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَ فِطْرَتِهِ وَ عَلَى دِينِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَ سُنَّتِهِ وَ عَلَى خَيْرِ الْوَفَاةِ
Please let me depart from this world adhering to the creed of the Prophet Abraham (as), his disposition and following the religion and way of life of Muhammad (as) – the best departure.
فَتَوَفَّنِي مُوَالِياً لِأَوْلِيَائِكَ [وَ] مُعَادِياً لِأَعْدَائِكَ
Please take my life in love of Your Friends, and as enemy of Your enemies.
اللَّهُمَّ وَ امْنَعْنِي مِنْ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ أَوْ فِعْلٍ أَوْ قَوْلٍ يُبَاعِدُنِي مِنْكَ وَ اجْلِبْنِي إِلَى كُلِّ عَمَلٍ أَوْ فِعْلٍ أَوْ قَوْلٍ يُقَرِّبُنِي مِنْكَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
O‟ God! Please fend off from me, during his year, all words or deeds that could push me far away from You and keep me close to all deeds and words which bring me near to You during this year – O‟ the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
وَ امْنَعْنِي مِنْ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ أَوْ فِعْلٍ أَوْ قَوْلٍ يَكُونُ مِنِّي أَخَافُ سُوءَ عَاقِبَتِهِ وَ أَخَافُ مَقْتَكَ إِيَّايَ عَلَيْهِ حِذَارَ أَنْ تَصْرِفَ وَجْهَكَ الْكَرِيمَ عَنِّي فَأَسْتَوْجِبَ بِهِ نَقْصاً مِنْ حَظٍّ لِي عِنْدَكَ يَا رَءُوفُ يَا رَحِيمُ
Please prevent me from all words or deeds that could cause an evil result on account of which I am scared of Your Aversion; and I am afraid that You may turn Your Noble Face away from me and I be prohibited from obtaining my share of good fortune that is near You – O‟ Compassionate, O‟ Merciful.
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي فِي مُسْتَقْبَلِ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ فِي حِفْظِكَ وَ جِوَارِكَ وَ كَنَفِكَ وَ جَلِّلْنِي عَافِيَتَكَ وَ هَبْ لِي كَرَامَتَكَ عَزَّ جَارُكَ وَ جَلَّ ثَنَاؤُكَ وَ لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ
O‟ God! Throughout this year, please keep me under Your Custody, near Yourself and by Your Side. Cover me with Your Protective Covering and bestow on me Your Benevolence since anyone under Your Protection is honored and Glorious and Sublime is Your Praise and there is no God but You.
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي تَابِعاً لِصَالِحِي مَنْ مَضَى مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِكَ وَ أَلْحِقْنِي بِهِمْ وَ اجْعَلْنِي مُسَلِّماً لِمَنْ قَالَ بِالصِّدْقِ عَلَيْكَ مِنْهُمْ وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ
O‟ my God! Please let me follow Your past Friends, and let me be closely tied up with them; and believe what they truthfully said on Your Behalf.
يَا إِلَهِي أَنْ تُحِيطَ بِي خَطِيئَتِي وَ ظُلْمِي وَ إِسْرَافِي عَلَى نَفْسِي وَ اتِّبَاعِي لِهَوَايَ وَ اشْتِغَالِي بِشَهَوَاتِي [وَ اسْتِعْمَالِ شَهَوَاتِي] فَيَحُولَ ذَلِكَ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ رِضْوَانِكَ فَأَكُونَ مَنْسِيّاً عِنْدَكَ مُتَعَرِّضاً لِسَخَطِكَ وَ نَقِمَتِكَ [نقمتك]
O‟ my God! I take refuge with You from being surrounded with slippages, crimes, ignorance, harming myself, following lust, engagining in carnal desires that cause a barrier between me and Your Mercy and Pleasure and I be forgotten by You and be subjected to Your Wrath and Revenge.
اللَّهُمَّ وَفِّقْنِي لِكُلِّ عَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ تَرْضَى بِهِ عَنِّي وَ قَرِّبْنِي إِلَيْكَ زُلْفَى
O‟ my God! Please grant me success in doing deeds that would please You and help me get close to You.
اللَّهُمَّ كَمَا كَفَيْتَ نَبِيَّكَ مُحَمَّداً صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ هَوْلَ عَدُوِّهِ وَ فَرَّجْتَ هَمَّهُ وَ كَشَفْتَ كَرْبَهُ وَ صَدَقْتَهُ وَعْدَكَ وَ أَنْجَزْتَ لَهُ عَهْدَكَ
O‟ God! You did everything to help Your Prophet Muhammad (as) regarding the threats of his enemies, removed his anxieties, relieved his troubles, honored Your Promise, and completely carried it out.
اللَّهُمَّ فَبِذَلِكَ فَاكْفِنِي هَوْلَ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ وَ آفَاتَهَا وَ أَسْقَامَهَا وَ فِتْنَتَهَا [وَ فِتَنَهَا] وَ شُرُورَهَا وَ أَحْزَانَهَا وَ ضِيقَ الْمَعَاشِ فِيهَا
O‟ my God! Please keep me safe from fearful things and events, during this year, and from their consequences including ailments, confusion, evil, sorrow; and the economic recession.
وَ بَلِّغْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ كَمَالَ الْعَافِيَةِ بِتَمَامِ دَوَامِ النِّعْمَةِ عِنْدِي إِلَى مُنْتَهَى أَجَلِي
And through Your Mercy let me attain perfect well-being from the Everlasting Bounties until the end of my life.
أَسْأَلُكَ سُؤَالَ مَنْ أَسَاءَ وَ ظَلَمَ وَ اسْتَكَانَ وَ اعْتَرَفَ أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي مَا مَضَى مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ الَّتِي حَصَرَتْهَا حَفَظَتُكَ وَ أَحْصَتْهَا كِرَامُ مَلَائِكَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَ أَنْ تَعْصِمَنِيَ
I ask You just like a person who has transgressed and oppressed others, but surrenders and confesses. I ask You to forgive my past sins that are counted by Your preserving angels, and which have been recorded by the angels You appointed over me.
اللَّهُمَّ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ فِي مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمُرِي إِلَى مُنْتَهَى أَجَلِي
O‟ my God! Please protect me from sins during the rest of my lifetime up until my death.
يَا اللَّهُ يَا رَحْمَانُ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آتِنِي كُلَّ مَا سَأَلْتُكَ وَ رَغِبْتُ فِيهِ إِلَيْكَ فَإِنَّكَ أَمَرْتَنِي بِالدُّعَاءِ وَ تَكَفَّلْتَ بِالْإِجَابَةِ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.
O‟ God! O‟ Beneficent! And please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as) and give me all I asked for and for which I turned to You. It was You who ordered me to pray to You and You obliged Yourself to fulfill. O‟ the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.‟ ”

فَتَوَفَّنِي مُوَالِياً لِأَوْلِيَائِكَ [وَ] مُعَادِياً لِأَعْدَائِكَ
Please take my life in love of Your Friends, and as enemy of Your enemies.
اللَّهُمَّ وَ امْنَعْنِي مِنْ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ أَوْ فِعْلٍ أَوْ قَوْلٍ يُبَاعِدُنِي مِنْكَ وَ اجْلِبْنِي إِلَى كُلِّ عَمَلٍ أَوْ فِعْلٍ أَوْ قَوْلٍ يُقَرِّبُنِي مِنْكَ فِي هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
O‟ God! Please fend off from me, during his year, all words or deeds that could push me far away from You and keep me close to all deeds and words which bring me near to You during this year – O‟ the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.
وَ امْنَعْنِي مِنْ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ أَوْ فِعْلٍ أَوْ قَوْلٍ يَكُونُ مِنِّي أَخَافُ سُوءَ عَاقِبَتِهِ وَ أَخَافُ مَقْتَكَ إِيَّايَ عَلَيْهِ حِذَارَ أَنْ تَصْرِفَ وَجْهَكَ الْكَرِيمَ عَنِّي فَأَسْتَوْجِبَ بِهِ نَقْصاً مِنْ حَظٍّ لِي عِنْدَكَ يَا رَءُوفُ يَا رَحِيمُ
Please prevent me from all words or deeds that could cause an evil result on account of which I am scared of Your Aversion; and I am afraid that You may turn Your Noble Face away from me and I be prohibited from obtaining my share of good fortune that is near You – O‟ Compassionate, O‟ Merciful.
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي فِي مُسْتَقْبَلِ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ فِي حِفْظِكَ وَ جِوَارِكَ وَ كَنَفِكَ وَ جَلِّلْنِي عَافِيَتَكَ وَ هَبْ لِي كَرَامَتَكَ عَزَّ جَارُكَ وَ جَلَّ ثَنَاؤُكَ وَ لَا إِلَهَ غَيْرُكَ
O‟ God! Throughout this year, please keep me under Your Custody, near Yourself and by Your Side. Cover me with Your Protective Covering and bestow on me Your Benevolence since anyone under Your Protection is honored and Glorious and Sublime is Your Praise and there is no God but You.
اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي تَابِعاً لِصَالِحِي مَنْ مَضَى مِنْ أَوْلِيَائِكَ وَ أَلْحِقْنِي بِهِمْ وَ اجْعَلْنِي مُسَلِّماً لِمَنْ قَالَ بِالصِّدْقِ عَلَيْكَ مِنْهُمْ وَ أَعُوذُ بِكَ
O‟ my God! Please let me follow Your past Friends, and let me be closely tied up with them; and believe what they truthfully said on Your Behalf.
يَا إِلَهِي أَنْ تُحِيطَ بِي خَطِيئَتِي وَ ظُلْمِي وَ إِسْرَافِي عَلَى نَفْسِي وَ اتِّبَاعِي لِهَوَايَ وَ اشْتِغَالِي بِشَهَوَاتِي [وَ اسْتِعْمَالِ شَهَوَاتِي] فَيَحُولَ ذَلِكَ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ رِضْوَانِكَ فَأَكُونَ مَنْسِيّاً عِنْدَكَ مُتَعَرِّضاً لِسَخَطِكَ وَ نَقِمَتِكَ [نقمتك]
O‟ my God! I take refuge with You from being surrounded with slippages, crimes, ignorance, harming myself, following lust, engagining in carnal desires that cause a barrier between me and Your Mercy and Pleasure and I be forgotten by You and be subjected to Your Wrath and Revenge.
اللَّهُمَّ وَفِّقْنِي لِكُلِّ عَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ تَرْضَى بِهِ عَنِّي وَ قَرِّبْنِي إِلَيْكَ زُلْفَى
O‟ my God! Please grant me success in doing deeds that would please You and help me get close to You.
اللَّهُمَّ كَمَا كَفَيْتَ نَبِيَّكَ مُحَمَّداً صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ هَوْلَ عَدُوِّهِ وَ فَرَّجْتَ هَمَّهُ وَ كَشَفْتَ كَرْبَهُ وَ صَدَقْتَهُ وَعْدَكَ وَ أَنْجَزْتَ لَهُ عَهْدَكَ
O‟ God! You did everything to help Your Prophet Muhammad (as) regarding the threats of his enemies, removed his anxieties, relieved his troubles, honored Your Promise, and completely carried it out.
اللَّهُمَّ فَبِذَلِكَ فَاكْفِنِي هَوْلَ هَذِهِ السَّنَةِ وَ آفَاتَهَا وَ أَسْقَامَهَا وَ فِتْنَتَهَا [وَ فِتَنَهَا] وَ شُرُورَهَا وَ أَحْزَانَهَا وَ ضِيقَ الْمَعَاشِ فِيهَا
O‟ my God! Please keep me safe from fearful things and events, during this year, and from their consequences including ailments, confusion, evil, sorrow; and the economic recession.
وَ بَلِّغْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ كَمَالَ الْعَافِيَةِ بِتَمَامِ دَوَامِ النِّعْمَةِ عِنْدِي إِلَى مُنْتَهَى أَجَلِي
And through Your Mercy let me attain perfect well-being from the Everlasting Bounties until the end of my life.
أَسْأَلُكَ سُؤَالَ مَنْ أَسَاءَ وَ ظَلَمَ وَ اسْتَكَانَ وَ اعْتَرَفَ أَنْ تَغْفِرَ لِي مَا مَضَى مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ الَّتِي حَصَرَتْهَا حَفَظَتُكَ وَ أَحْصَتْهَا كِرَامُ مَلَائِكَتِكَ عَلَيَّ وَ أَنْ تَعْصِمَنِيَ
I ask You just like a person who has transgressed and oppressed others, but surrenders and confesses. I ask You to forgive my past sins that are counted by Your preserving angels, and which have been recorded by the angels You appointed over me.
اللَّهُمَّ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ فِي مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ عُمُرِي إِلَى مُنْتَهَى أَجَلِي
O‟ my God! Please protect me from sins during the rest of my lifetime up until my death.
يَا اللَّهُ يَا رَحْمَانُ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَهْلِ بَيْتِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آتِنِي كُلَّ مَا سَأَلْتُكَ وَ رَغِبْتُ فِيهِ إِلَيْكَ فَإِنَّكَ أَمَرْتَنِي بِالدُّعَاءِ وَ تَكَفَّلْتَ بِالْإِجَابَةِ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ.
O‟ God! O‟ Beneficent! And please bestow Your Blessings on Muhammad and his Progeny (as) and give me all I asked for and for which I turned to You. It was You who ordered me to pray to You and You obliged Yourself to fulfill. O‟ the Most Compassionate, Most Merciful.‟ ”
