اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ وَقَفْتُ عَلٰى بَابٍ مِنْ اَبْوَابِ بُيُوْتِ نَبِيِّكَ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَ اٰلِهٖ

Allaahumma innee waqafto a’laa baabin min abwaabe boyoote nabiyyeka salawaatoka a’layhe wa aalehi

O Allah I stand still at one of the doors of the houses of Your Prophet (Your blessings be on him and on his children),

وَ قَدْ مَنَعْتَ النَّاسَ اَنْ يَّدْخُلُوْا اِلَّا بِاِذْنِهٖ

wa qad manaa’-tan naasa an yadkholoo illaa be-iznehee

because people are not allowed to enter without his permission.

فَقُلْتَ يَآ اَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا لَا تَدْخُلُوْا بُيُوْتً النَّبِىِّ اِلَّا اَنْ يُّؤْذَنَ لَكُمْ

faqulta yaa ayyohal lazeena aamanoo laa tadkholoo boyootan nabiyye illaa an yu-zana lakum

So You said: “O you who believe! Enter not the dwellings of the Prophet unless permission be granted to you.”

اَللّٰہُمَّ اِنِّیْ اَعْتَقِدُ حُرْمَۃَ صَاحِبِ ہٰذَا الْمَشْہَدِ الشَّرِیْفِ

allaahumma innee aa’-taqedo hurmata saahebe haazal mash-hadish shareefe

O Allah! I hold (as an article of faith) this honoured place of pilgrimage as sacred,

فِیْ غَیْبَتِہٖ کَمَآ اَعْتَقِدُہَا فِیْ حَضْرَتِہٖ

fee ghaybatehe kamaa aa’-taqedohaa fee hazratehi

in his invisibility just as I was certain and sure of his sanctity in his presence.

وَ اَعْلَمُ اَنَّ رَسُوْلَکَ وَ خُلَفَآئَکَ عَلَیْہِمُ السَّلَامُ اَحْیَآءٌ

wa aa’-lamo anna rasoolaka wa kholafaaa-aka a’layhemus salaamo ahyaaa-un

I know that Your Apostle and Your Representatives (peace be on them) are alive,

عِنْدَکَ یُرْزَقُوْنَ یَرَوْنَ مَقَامِیْ

i’ndaka yurzaqoona yarawna maqaamee

by Your permission and are being sustained, seeing my place of halting,

وَ یَسْمَعُوْنَ کَلَامِیْ وَ یَرُدُّوْنَ سَلَامِیْ

wa yasma-o’ona kalaamee wa yaruddoona salaamee

hearing my words and answering my “Salaam”.

وَ اَنَّکَ حَـجَبْتَ عَنْ سَمْعِیْ کَلَامَہُمْ

wa annaka hajabta a’n sam-e’e kalaamahum

Although You have shut off their speech from my hearing

وَ فَتَحْتَ بَابَ فَہْمِیْ بِلَذِیْذِ مُنَاجَاتِہِمْ

wa fatahta baaba fahmee belazeeze monaajaatehim

but has unbolted the door of my understanding, because of my delightful recitation of their merits.

وَ اِنِّیْ اَسْتَاذِنُکَ یَا رَبِّ اَوَّلًا وَّ اَسْتَاْذِنُ رَسُوْلَکَ صَلَّی اللهُ عَلَیْہِ وَ اٰلِہٖ ثَانِیًا

wa innee astaazenoka yaa rabbe awwalan wa astaazeno rasoolaka sallallaaho a’layhe wa aalehi saaneyan

First I ask for Your permission O my Lord and then seek Your Apostle’s leave (Blessings of Allah be on him and on his children)

وَ اَسْتَاذِنُ خَلِیْفَتَکَ الْاِمَامَ الْمَفْرُوْضَ عَلَیَّ طَاعَتُہٗ

wa astaazeno khaleefatakal emaamal mafrooza a’layya taa-a’tohu

and take permission from Your representative, obedience unto whom has been made obligatory on me,

عَلِیِّ بْنِ مُوْسَی الرِّضَا عَلَیْہِمَا السَّلَامُ

a’liyyabne moosar rezaa a’layhemas salaamo

Ali Ibn Moosa al-Reza (a.s.)upon you peace

وَ الْمَلٰٓئِكَةَ الْمُوَكَّلِيْنَ بِهٰذِهِ الْبُقْعَةِ الْمُبَارَكَةِ ثَالِثًا

wal malaaa-ekatal mowakkeleena be haazehil buq-a’til mobaarakate saalesan

And also from the angels, appointed as guardians of this blessed precinct.

اَ اَدْخُلُ يَا رَسُوْلَ اللهِ اَ اَدْخُلُ يَا حُجَّةَ اللهِ

a-adkholo yaa rasoolallaahe a-adkholo yaa hujjatallaahe

May I enter O Apostle of Allah? May I enter O Hujjatullah (proof of Allah)?

اَ اَدْخُلُ يَا مَلٰٓئِكَةَ اللهِ الْمُقَرَّبِيْنَ الْمُقِيْمِيْنَ فِىْ هٰذَا الْمَشْهَدِ

a-adkholo yaa malaaa-ekatallaahil moqarrabeenal moqeemeena fee haazal mash-hade

May I enter O favourite angels of Allah, quartered in this place of pilgrimage ?

فَاْذَنْ لِىْ يَا مَوْلَاىَ فِى الدُّخُوْلِ اَفْضَلَ مَآ اَذِنْتَ لِاَحَدٍ مِّنْ اَوْلِيَآئِكَ

faa-zan lee yaa mawlaaya fid dokhoole afzala maa azinta le-ahadin min awleyaaa-eka

Give permission to enter, O my Master, a most cordial welcome that is extended to any of your closest friends;

فَاِنْ لَمْ اَكُنْ اَهْلًا لِذٰلِكَ فَاَنْتَ اَهْلٌ لَهٗ

fa-in lam akun ahlan lezaaleka fa-anta ahlun lahu.

may be I do not deserve it, but you are known to do it.
