اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي هَدَانَا لِهٰذَا

alhamdu lillahi alladhi hadana lihadha

All praise be to Allah Who has guided us to this;

وَمَا كُنَّا لِنَهْتَدِيَ لَوْلاَ أَنْ هَدَانَا ٱللَّهُ

wa ma kunna linahtadiya lawla an hadana allahu

and we would not have found the way had it not been that Allah had guided us.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي سَيَّرَنِي فِي بِلاَدِهِ

alhamdu lillahi alladhi sayyarani fi biladihi

All praise be to Allah Who has made me travel in His countries,

وَحَمَلَنِي عَلَىٰ دَوَابِّهِ

wa hamalani `ala dawabbihi

Who has caused me to ride His animals,

وَطَوَىٰ لِيَ ٱلْبَعِيدَ

wa tawa liya alba`ida

Who has made the distant space seem near for me,

وَصَرَفَ عَنِّيَ ٱلْمَحْذوُرَ

wa sarafa `anniya almahdhura

Who has kept away from me what is dangerous,

وَدَفَعَ عَنِّيَ ٱلْمَكْرُوهَ

wa dafa`a `anniya almakruha

and Who has held off against me what is unwanted

حَتَّىٰ أَقْدَمَنِي حَرَمَ أَخِي رَسُولِهِ

hatta aqdamani harama akhi rasulihi

until He made me come up to the Precinct of the brother of His Messenger,

صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ

salla allahu `alayhi wa alihi

peace be upon him and his Household.
