اللهُمّ إنّي أسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِك الّذِي يُمْشى‏ بِهِ عَلى‏

O Allah! I call on Thee by They name, by which

‏طُلَلِ الْماءِ كَما يُمْشى‏ بِهِ عَلى‏ جُدَدِ الأَرْضِ

it is walked on the waves of the seas as it is walked on the roads of the land.

وَأسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الّذِيْ يَهْتَزّ لَهُ عَرْشُكَ

And I call on Thee by Thy name, for which Thy throne shakes,

‏وَأسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الّذِي تَهْتَزّ لَهُ اَقْدامُ مَلائِكَتِكَ

And I call on Thee by They name, for which the feet of Thy angels tremble,

وَأسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الّذِي دَعاكَ بِهِ مُوسى

And I call on Thee by Thy name by which Moses

‏ مِنْ جانِبِ الطُورِ فاسْتَجَبْتَ لَهُ

prayed to thee from the side of the Mountain (of Toor) and Thou accepted his prayer

وَألْقَيْتَ عَلَيْهِ ‏مَحَبّةً مِنْكَ

and conferred Thy love on him,

وَأسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الّذي غَفَرْتَ بِهِ لِمُحَمّدٍ

And I call on Thee by Thy name by which Thou pardoned Muhammad,

ما تَقَدّمَ مِنْ ذَنْ بِهِ وَما تَأخّرَ

all his previous and future sins,

وأتْمَمْتَ عَلَيْهِ نِعْمَتَكَ أنْ تَفْعَلَ بِي كَذا وَكَذا

and completed all thine blessings for him To provide me with the best of this world and the hereafter
