It is recommended to depart to Safa, with peace and serenity, by the door facing the Black Stone. At Safa face the Holy Ka’ba at the corner with the Black Stone, praise Allah, remember His bounties,
Say seven times each
Allahu Akbar, Al-Hamdulillah and La ilaha ilallah , and then say thrice:
لَا اِلَهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَ لَهُ لْحَمْدُ يُحيِى وَ يُمِيْتُ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَ هُوَ عَلىَ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ
laaailaha illallahu wahdahu laa sharika lahu, lahulmulku walahulhamdu yuhii wayumiitu wayuhii wahuwa hayyun laa yamutu wahuwa alaa kulli shaiin qadir.
There is no God except Allah, He is One without any partner. All property belongs to Him and all praise is due to Him. He gives life and takes it away; He has always been alive and will never die. All goodness emanates from Him and He is powerful over all things).
Then read salwaat 3 times and read the following also 3 times:
اَللهُ اَكْبَرُ عَلىَ مَا هَدَانَا وَالْحَمْدُ لِله عَلىَ مَا أَوْلاَنَا وَالْحَمْدُ لِله الْحَيِّ الْقَيُّمِ وَالْحَمْدُ لِله الْحَيِّ الدَّائِمِ
allahu akberu alaa maa hadaana. alhamduhlillahi alaa maa awlana walhumdulillahil hayyil qaayyumi walhamdullahil hayyi-ddaimi.
Allah is Great: He has granted us guidance. All praise is to Allah; He has showered us with bounties. All praise to Allah who is Living and Eternal and all praise is ever due to Him).
And then 3 times:
اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لاَ اِلَهَ اِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيْكَ لَهُ وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُوْلُهُ لاَ نَعْبُدُ إلاَّ إيَّاهُ مُخْلِصِيْنَ لَهً الدِّيْنَ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُوْنَ

(I bear witness that there is no God except Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger. We do not worship anyone except Him, sincere in our faith, however averse may the polytheists be
And this 3 times:
اَللهُمَّ اِنِّى اَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ وَالْيَقِيْنَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ
allahumma inni asalukal afwa walaafiyata walyaqiina fidduniya walaakhirati.
O Allah! I beseech You for forgiveness, health, and firmness in faith in this world and the Hereafter
Say this 3 times:
اَللَّهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
allahumma aatina fidduniya hasanatan wafil aakhirati hasanatan waqina adhabannar.
O Allah! grant us the virtues of this world and the Hereafter and spare us the fire of Hell
Then say this one hundred (100) times:
ALLAHU AKBER – 100 times
LA ILAHA ILLALLAH – 100 times
ALHAMDULILLAH - 100 times
SUBHANALLAH - 100 times
لاَ اِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ وَحْدَهُ اَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ
La ilaha illalaahu wahdahu wahdahu anjaza waadahu
There is no God but Allah, He is only One, He has accomplished His promise,
Then recite this:
وَنَصَرَ عَبْدُهُ وَهَزَمَ الأحْزَابِ وَحْدَهُ
wanasara abdahu waghalabal ahzabi wahdahu
He has helped His servant and singly overpowered the groups of infidels.
فَلَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَحْدَهُ وَحْدَهُ
falahu mulku walahul hamdu wahdahu.
All property belongs to Him and all praise is due to Him, Him alone.
اَللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِي الْمَوْتِ وَفِي مَا بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ
Allahumma barik lii filmawti wafiima baadal mawti.
O Allah! bless my death and what happens after it.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ ظُلْمَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَوَحْشَتِهِ
Allahumma innii audhubika min zulmatil qabri wahshatihi.
O Allah! I seek refuge from the darkness and loneliness of the grave.
اَللَّهُمَّ أَظِلِّنِي فِي ظِلِّ عَرْشِكَ يَوْمَ لاَ ظِلِّ إلاَّ ظِلُّكَ
Allahumma azillinii fii zilli arshika yawma laa zilla illa zilluka.
O Allah! grant me shelter under the shade of Your Throne on the day when there will be no shelter except Yours.
Then give yourself, your wealth, your family in Allah 's refuge and say this :
أَسْتَوْدِعُ اللهَ الرَّحْمَانَ الرَّحِيْمَ الَّذِي لاَ تُضِيعُ وَدَائِعُهُ دِينِي وَنَفْسِي وَأَهْلِي
Astawdiullaha arrahmanarrahima allazii laa taziiu wadaaiuhu diinii wanafsii waahlii
I leave my religion, myself and family in the hands of Allah, the Merciful, the Beneficent, who does not let anything deposited with him to be
اَللَّهُمَّ إسْتَعْمِلْنِي عَلىَ كِتاَبِكَ وَسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ
Allahumma-staamilnii alaa kitabika wasunnati nabiyyika
O Allah! keep me steadfast in following Your Book and the practices of Your Prophet,
وَتَوَفِّنِي عَلىَ مِلَّتِهِ وَأَعِذْنِي مِنَ الْفِتْنَةِ
watawaffanii alaa millatihi waafidhnii minal fitnati
keep me among his followers until my death and save me from dissension.
And then say : ALLAHU AKBER and repeat the above supplication ..astawdiullaha.
It has been reported from Imam Ali (a.s.) that when one climbs the Safa, one must face the Holy Ka’ba, raise one’s hands in supplication and say :
اَللَّهُمَّ إغْفِرْ لِي كُلَّ ذَنْبٍ أذْنَبْتَهُ
Allahumaaghfirlii kulli dhanbin adhnabtuhu
O Allah ! forgive all my sins whenever I may have committed them
قَطُّ فَإنْ غُذْتُ فَعُذْ عَلَيَّ بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ
qattu fain udtu faud alaiyya bilmaghfirati
and if I repeat them, forgive me again,
فَإنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
fainnaka antal ghafurrur rahim
for You are Forgiving and Merciful.
وَلاَ تَفْعَلْ بِي مَا أنَا اَهْلَهُ
lahumma ifal bii maa anta ahluhu
O Allah ! deal with me as it befits You
فَاِنَّكَ إنْ تَفْعَلْ بِي مَا أنْتَ أَهْلَهُ تَرْحَمْنِي
fainnaka in fat'al bi ma anta ahlahu tarhamnii
and if You would do so, You would have mercy on me.
وَإنْ تَعَذِّبْنِي وَاَنْتَ غَنِيٌّ عَنْ عَذَابِي
wain tuadhiibni faanta ghaniyyun an adhabii
You are free from any need to punish me
وَ أَنَا مُحْتَاجٌ إلَى رَحْمَتِهِ إرْحَمْنِي
waana muhtaajun ilaa rahmatihi irhamnii
but I am in need of Your mercy, have mercy on me
وَلاَ تَفْعَلْ بِي مَا أنَا اَهْلَهُ
wala tafal bii maa ana ahluhu
O Allah! do not deal with me as I deserve,
فَاِنَّكَ إنْ تَفْعَلْ بِي مَا أنَا اَهْلَهُ تَعَذِّبِنِي
fainnaka in tafal bii-maa ana ahluhu tuaddhibnii
for if You do so, You will punish me
وَلَمْ تَظْاِمْنِي أَصْبَحْتُ أتَّقِي عَذْلَكَ
walam tazlimnii asbahtu attaqii adlaka
without being unjust to me. I fear Your justice
وَلاَ أَخَافُ جَوْرَكَ فَيَا مَنْ هُوَ عَدْلٌ لاَ يَجُورُ إرْحَمْنِي
wala akhaafu jawraka fayaman huwa adlun laa yahuuru irhamnii-
but have no fear of injustice from You. O One who is absolutely Just, have mercy on me
then say
yaman laa yakhiibu saailuhu wala yanfadu naailuhu salli alaa muhammadin waali muhammadin wa aidhnii minannari birahmatika
It has been reported from Abi Adillah (a.s.) that if one seeks to increase one’s wealth, one should wuquf at Safa longer. Descend to the 4th step facing Kaaba recite the following duas :
اَللهُمَّ أنِّي أَعُوذُبِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَفِتْنَتِهِ
allahumma innii audhubika min adhabil qabri wafitnatihi
وَغُرْبَتِهِ وَوَحْشَتِهِ وَظُلْمَتِهِ وَضِيقِهِ وَضَنْكِهِ
waghurbatihi wa wahshatihi wazulmatihi waziiqihi wazankihi.
اَللَّهُمَّ أَظِلَّنِي فِي ظِلِّ عَرْشِكَ يَوْمَ لاَ ظِلَّ إلاَّ ظِلُّكَ
allahumma azillinii fii zilli arshika yawma laa zilla illa zilluka
On the bottom step remove the upper cloth from the waist say this :
یَا رَبَّ الْعَفْوِ يَا مَنْ أَمَرَ بِالْعَفْوِ
ya rabbal afwi, ya man amara bilafwi
يَا مَنْ هُوَ أَوْلَى بِالْعَفْوِ
ya man howa awla bil afwi
يَا مَنْ يُثِيْبُ عَلَى الْعَفْوِ الْعَفْوَ الْعَفْوَ الْعَفْوَ
ya man yusiibu alaal afwi, alafwa alafwa alafwa.
یَا جَوَادُ يَا كَرِيْمُ يَا قَرِيْبُ يَا بَعِيدُ أُرْدُدْ
ya jawadu ya karimu ya karimu ya karimu ya karimu ya baiidu urdud
عَلَى نِعْمَتَكَ وَاسْتَعْمِلْنِي بِطَاعَتِكَ وَمَرْضَاتِكَ
alaiya niamatika wassstaamilnii bitaatika wamarzaatika.

O Allah! I beseech You for forgiveness, health, and firmness in faith in this world and the Hereafter
Say this 3 times:
اَللَّهُمَّ آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
allahumma aatina fidduniya hasanatan wafil aakhirati hasanatan waqina adhabannar.
O Allah! grant us the virtues of this world and the Hereafter and spare us the fire of Hell
Then say this one hundred (100) times:
ALLAHU AKBER – 100 times
LA ILAHA ILLALLAH – 100 times
ALHAMDULILLAH - 100 times
SUBHANALLAH - 100 times
لاَ اِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللهُ وَحْدَهُ وَحْدَهُ اَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ
La ilaha illalaahu wahdahu wahdahu anjaza waadahu
There is no God but Allah, He is only One, He has accomplished His promise,
Then recite this:
وَنَصَرَ عَبْدُهُ وَهَزَمَ الأحْزَابِ وَحْدَهُ
wanasara abdahu waghalabal ahzabi wahdahu
He has helped His servant and singly overpowered the groups of infidels.
فَلَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَحْدَهُ وَحْدَهُ
falahu mulku walahul hamdu wahdahu.
All property belongs to Him and all praise is due to Him, Him alone.
اَللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِي الْمَوْتِ وَفِي مَا بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ
Allahumma barik lii filmawti wafiima baadal mawti.
O Allah! bless my death and what happens after it.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ ظُلْمَةِ الْقَبْرِ وَوَحْشَتِهِ
Allahumma innii audhubika min zulmatil qabri wahshatihi.
O Allah! I seek refuge from the darkness and loneliness of the grave.
اَللَّهُمَّ أَظِلِّنِي فِي ظِلِّ عَرْشِكَ يَوْمَ لاَ ظِلِّ إلاَّ ظِلُّكَ
Allahumma azillinii fii zilli arshika yawma laa zilla illa zilluka.
O Allah! grant me shelter under the shade of Your Throne on the day when there will be no shelter except Yours.
Then give yourself, your wealth, your family in Allah 's refuge and say this :
أَسْتَوْدِعُ اللهَ الرَّحْمَانَ الرَّحِيْمَ الَّذِي لاَ تُضِيعُ وَدَائِعُهُ دِينِي وَنَفْسِي وَأَهْلِي
Astawdiullaha arrahmanarrahima allazii laa taziiu wadaaiuhu diinii wanafsii waahlii
I leave my religion, myself and family in the hands of Allah, the Merciful, the Beneficent, who does not let anything deposited with him to be
اَللَّهُمَّ إسْتَعْمِلْنِي عَلىَ كِتاَبِكَ وَسُنَّةِ نَبِيِّكَ
Allahumma-staamilnii alaa kitabika wasunnati nabiyyika
O Allah! keep me steadfast in following Your Book and the practices of Your Prophet,
وَتَوَفِّنِي عَلىَ مِلَّتِهِ وَأَعِذْنِي مِنَ الْفِتْنَةِ
watawaffanii alaa millatihi waafidhnii minal fitnati
keep me among his followers until my death and save me from dissension.
And then say : ALLAHU AKBER and repeat the above supplication ..astawdiullaha.
It has been reported from Imam Ali (a.s.) that when one climbs the Safa, one must face the Holy Ka’ba, raise one’s hands in supplication and say :
اَللَّهُمَّ إغْفِرْ لِي كُلَّ ذَنْبٍ أذْنَبْتَهُ
Allahumaaghfirlii kulli dhanbin adhnabtuhu
O Allah ! forgive all my sins whenever I may have committed them
قَطُّ فَإنْ غُذْتُ فَعُذْ عَلَيَّ بِالْمَغْفِرَةِ
qattu fain udtu faud alaiyya bilmaghfirati
and if I repeat them, forgive me again,
فَإنَّكَ أَنْتَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ
fainnaka antal ghafurrur rahim
for You are Forgiving and Merciful.
وَلاَ تَفْعَلْ بِي مَا أنَا اَهْلَهُ
lahumma ifal bii maa anta ahluhu
O Allah ! deal with me as it befits You
فَاِنَّكَ إنْ تَفْعَلْ بِي مَا أنْتَ أَهْلَهُ تَرْحَمْنِي
fainnaka in fat'al bi ma anta ahlahu tarhamnii
and if You would do so, You would have mercy on me.
وَإنْ تَعَذِّبْنِي وَاَنْتَ غَنِيٌّ عَنْ عَذَابِي
wain tuadhiibni faanta ghaniyyun an adhabii
You are free from any need to punish me
وَ أَنَا مُحْتَاجٌ إلَى رَحْمَتِهِ إرْحَمْنِي
waana muhtaajun ilaa rahmatihi irhamnii
but I am in need of Your mercy, have mercy on me
وَلاَ تَفْعَلْ بِي مَا أنَا اَهْلَهُ
wala tafal bii maa ana ahluhu
O Allah! do not deal with me as I deserve,
فَاِنَّكَ إنْ تَفْعَلْ بِي مَا أنَا اَهْلَهُ تَعَذِّبِنِي
fainnaka in tafal bii-maa ana ahluhu tuaddhibnii
for if You do so, You will punish me
وَلَمْ تَظْاِمْنِي أَصْبَحْتُ أتَّقِي عَذْلَكَ
walam tazlimnii asbahtu attaqii adlaka
without being unjust to me. I fear Your justice
وَلاَ أَخَافُ جَوْرَكَ فَيَا مَنْ هُوَ عَدْلٌ لاَ يَجُورُ إرْحَمْنِي
wala akhaafu jawraka fayaman huwa adlun laa yahuuru irhamnii-
but have no fear of injustice from You. O One who is absolutely Just, have mercy on me
then say
yaman laa yakhiibu saailuhu wala yanfadu naailuhu salli alaa muhammadin waali muhammadin wa aidhnii minannari birahmatika
It has been reported from Abi Adillah (a.s.) that if one seeks to increase one’s wealth, one should wuquf at Safa longer. Descend to the 4th step facing Kaaba recite the following duas :
اَللهُمَّ أنِّي أَعُوذُبِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَفِتْنَتِهِ
allahumma innii audhubika min adhabil qabri wafitnatihi
وَغُرْبَتِهِ وَوَحْشَتِهِ وَظُلْمَتِهِ وَضِيقِهِ وَضَنْكِهِ
waghurbatihi wa wahshatihi wazulmatihi waziiqihi wazankihi.
اَللَّهُمَّ أَظِلَّنِي فِي ظِلِّ عَرْشِكَ يَوْمَ لاَ ظِلَّ إلاَّ ظِلُّكَ
allahumma azillinii fii zilli arshika yawma laa zilla illa zilluka
On the bottom step remove the upper cloth from the waist say this :
یَا رَبَّ الْعَفْوِ يَا مَنْ أَمَرَ بِالْعَفْوِ
ya rabbal afwi, ya man amara bilafwi
يَا مَنْ هُوَ أَوْلَى بِالْعَفْوِ
ya man howa awla bil afwi
يَا مَنْ يُثِيْبُ عَلَى الْعَفْوِ الْعَفْوَ الْعَفْوَ الْعَفْوَ
ya man yusiibu alaal afwi, alafwa alafwa alafwa.
یَا جَوَادُ يَا كَرِيْمُ يَا قَرِيْبُ يَا بَعِيدُ أُرْدُدْ
ya jawadu ya karimu ya karimu ya karimu ya karimu ya baiidu urdud
عَلَى نِعْمَتَكَ وَاسْتَعْمِلْنِي بِطَاعَتِكَ وَمَرْضَاتِكَ
alaiya niamatika wassstaamilnii bitaatika wamarzaatika.
