1.Alif-Laaam-Meeem

1.Alif, Lam, Meem.

[00:10.00]

2.Ahasiban naasu anyu yutrakooo any yaqoolooo aamannaa wa hum la yuftanoon

2.Do the people suppose that they will be let off because they say, ‘We have faith,’ and they will not be tested?

[00:26.00]

3.Certainly We tested those who were before them. So Allah shall surely ascertain those who are truthful, and He shall surely ascertain the liars.

[00:42.00]

4.Am hasibal lazeena ya'maloonas sayyiaati any yasbiqoonaa; saaa'a maa yahkumoon

4.Do those who commit misdeeds suppose that they can outmaneuver Us? Evil is the judgement that they make.

[00:56.00]

5.Man kaana yarjoo liqaaa 'allaahi fa inna ajalal laahi laaat; wa Huwass Sameeul 'Aleem

5.Whoever expects to encounter Allah [should know that] Allah’s [appointed] time will indeed come, and He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing.

[01:12.00]

6.Wa man jaahada fainnamaa yujaahidu linafsih; innal laaha laghaniyyun 'anil 'aalameen

6.Whoever strives, strives only for his own sake. Indeed Allah has no need of the creatures.

[01:26.00]

7.As for those who have faith and do righteous deeds, We will absolve them of their misdeeds and We will surely reward them by the best of what they used to do.

[01:47.00]

8.Wa wassainal insaana biwaalidaihi husnanw wa in jaahadaaka litushrika bee maa laisa laka bihee 'ilmun falaa tuti'humaa; ilaiya marji'ukum fa unabbi'ukum bimaa kuntum ta'maloon

8.We have enjoined man to be good to his parents. But if they urge you to ascribe to Me as partner that of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them. To Me will be your return, whereat I will inform you concerning what you used to do.

[02:13.00]

9.Wallazeena aamanoo w a'amilus saalihaati lanudkhilan nahum fis saaliheen

9.Those who have faith and do righteous deeds, We will surely admit them among the righteous.

[02:24.00]

10.Wa minan naasi many yaqoolu aamannaa billaahi faizaaa ooziya fil laahi ja'ala fitnatan naasi ka'azaabil laahi wa la'in jaaa'a nasrum mir Rabbika la yaqoolunna innaa kunnaa ma'akum; awa laisal laahu bi a'lama bimaa fee surdooril 'aalameen

10.Among the people there are those who say, ‘We have faith in Allah,’ but if such a one is tormented in Allah’s cause, he takes persecution by the people for Allah’s punishment. Yet if there comes any help from your Lord, they will say, ‘We were indeed with you.’ Does not Allah know best what is in the breasts of the creatures?

[03:14.00]

11.Allah shall surely ascertain those who have faith, and He shall surely ascertain the hypocrites.

[03:25.00]

12.Wa qaalal lazaeena kafaroo lillazeena aamanut tabi'oo sabeelanaa walnahmil khataayaakum wa maa hum bihaamileena min khataa yaahum min shai'in innahum lakaaziboon

12.The faithless say to the faithful, ‘Follow our way and we will bear [responsibility for] your iniquities.’ They will not bear anything of their iniquities. They are indeed liars.

[03:49.00]

13.But they will carry their own burdens and other burdens along with their own burdens, and they will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection concerning that which they used to fabricate.

[04:09.00]

14.Wa laqad arsalnaa Noohan ilaa qawmihee falabisa feehim alfa sanatin illaa khamseena 'aaman fa akhazahumut toofaanu wa hum zaalimoon

14.Certainly We sent Noah to his people, and he remained with them for a thousand-less-fifty years. Then the flood overtook them while they were wrongdoers.

[04:32.00]

15.Fa anjainaahu wa as haabas safeenati wa ja'alnaahaaa Aayatal lil'aalameen

15.Then We delivered him and those who were in the Ark, and made it a sign for all the nations.

[04:44.00]

16.Wa Ibraheema iz qaala liqawmihi' budul laaha wattaqoohu zaalikum khayrul lakum in kuntum ta'lamoon

16.And Abraham, when he said to his people, ‘Worship Allah and be wary of Him. That is better for you, should you know.

[05:00.00]

17.Innamaa ta'ubdoona min doonil laahi awsaananw-wa takhluqoona ifkaa; innal lazeena ta'budoona min doonil laahi laa yamlikoona lakum rizqan fabtaghoo 'indal laahir rizqa fabtaghoo 'indal laahir rizqa wa'budoohu washkuroo lahooo ilaihi turja'oon

17.What you worship instead of Allah are mere idols, and you invent a lie. Indeed those whom you worship besides Allah have no control over your provision. So seek all [your] provision from Allah, and worship Him and thank Him, and to Him you shall be brought back.’

[05:31.00]

18.Wa in tukazziboo faqad kazzaba umamum min qablikum wa maa'alar Rasooli illal balaaghul mubeen

18.If you impugn [the Apostle’s teaching], then [other] nations have impugned [likewise] before you, and the Apostle’s duty is only to communicate in clear terms.

[05:46.00]

19.Awa lam yaraw kaifa yubdi'ul laahul khalqa summa yu'eeduh; inna zaalika 'alal laahi yaseer

19.Have they not regarded how Allah originates the creation? Then He will bring it back. That is indeed easy for Allah.

[05:59.00]

20.Qul seeroo fil ardi fanzuroo kaifa baa al khalqa summal laahu yunshi''un nash atal Aakhirah; innal laaha 'alaa kulli shai'in Qadeer

20.Say, ‘Travel over the land and observe how He has originated the creation.’ Then Allah will bring about the genesis of the Hereafter. Indeed Allah has power over all things.

[06:20.00]

21.Yu'azzibu many yashaaa'u wa yarhamu many yashaaa'; wa ilaihi tuqlaboon

21.He will punish whomever He wishes and have mercy on whomever He wishes, and to Him you will be returned.

[06:35.00]

22.Wa maaa antum bimu'jizeena fil ardi wa laa fissamaaa'i wa maa lakum min doonil laahi minw waliyyinw wa laa naseer

22.You cannot frustrate Him on the earth or in the sky, nor do you have besides Allah any guardian or helper.

[06:56.00]

23.Those who deny the signs of Allah and the encounter with Him—they have despaired of My mercy, and for such there is a painful punishment.

[07:20.00]

24.Famaa kaana jawaaba qawmiheee illaaa an qaaluqtuloohu aw harriqoohu faanjaahul laahu minan naar; inna fee zaalika la Aayaatil laqawminy yu'minoon

24.But the only answer of his people was that they said, ‘Kill him, or burn him.’ Then Allah delivered him from the fire. There are indeed signs in that for a people who have faith.

[07:46.00]

25.Wa qaala innamat takhaz tum min doonil laahi awsaanam mawaddata bainikum fil hayaatid dunyaa summa yawmal qiyaamati yakfuru ba'dukum biba 'dinw wa yal'anu ba'dukum ba'danw-wa yal'anu ba'dukum ba'danw wa maa waakumun Naaru wa maa lakum min naasireen

25.He said, ‘You have taken idols [for worship] besides Allah for the sake of [mutual] affection amongst yourselves in the life of the world. Then on the Day of Resurrection you will disown one another and curse one another, and the Fire will be your abode, and you will not have any helpers.’

[08:27.00]

26.Fa aamana lahoo Loot; wa qaala innee mauhajirun ilaa Rabbee innahoo Huwal 'Azeezul Hakeem

26.Thereupon Lot believed in him, and he said, ‘Indeed I am migrating toward my Lord. Indeed He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.’

[08:43.00]

27.Wa wahabnaa lahoo Ishaaqa wa Ya'Qooba wa ja'alnaa fee zurriyyatihin Nubuwwata wal Kitaaba wa aatainaahu ajrahoo fid dunyaa wa innahoo fil aakhirati laminas saaliheen

27.And We gave him Isaac and Jacob, and We ordained among his descendants prophethood and the Book, and We gave him his reward in this world, and in the Hereafter he will indeed be among the Righteous.

[09:06.00]

28.Wa Lootan iz qaala liqawmiheee innakum laatoonal faahishata maa sabaqakum bihaa min ahadim minal 'aalameen

28.And Lot, when he said to his people, ‘You indeed commit an indecency none in the world has ever committed before you!

[09:23.00]

29.A'innakum lataatoonar rijaala wa taqta'oonas sabeela wa taatoona fee naadekumul munkara famaa kaana jawaaba qawmiheee illaaa an qaalu' tinaaa bi'azaabil laahi in kunta minas saadiqeen

29.What! Do you come to men, and cut off the way, and commit outrages in your gatherings?’ But the only answer of his people was that they said, ‘Bring down us Allah’s punishment, if you are truthful.’

[09:51.00]

30.Qaala Rabbin surnee 'alal qawmil mufsideen

30.He said, ‘My Lord! Help me against this corruptive lot.’

[09:59.00]

31.Wa lammaa jaaa'at Rusulunaaa Ibraaheema bil bushraa qaalooo innaa muhlikoo ahli haazihil qaryati inna ahlahaa kaanoo zaalimeen

31.And when Our messengers came to Abraham with the good news, they said, ‘We are indeed going to destroy the people of this town. Its people are indeed wrongdoers.’

[10:25.00]

32.Qaala inna feeha Lootaa; qaaloo nahnu a'lamu biman feehaa lanunajjjiyannahoo wa ahlahooo illam ra atahoo kaanat minal ghaabireen

32.He said, ‘Lot is in it.’ They said, ‘We know better those who are in it. We will surely deliver him and his family, except his wife: she shall be one of those who remain behind.’

[10:46.00]

33.Wa lammaaa an jaaa'at Rusulunaa Lootan seee'a bihim wa daaqa bihim zar'anw wa qaaloo laa takhaf wa laa tahzan innaa munajjooka wa ahlaka illam ra ataka kaanat minal ghaabireen

33.And when Our messengers came to Lot, he was distressed on their account and in a predicament for their sake. But they said, ‘Do not be afraid, nor grieve! We shall deliver you and your family, except your wife: she will be one of those who remain behind.

[11:14.00]

34.Innaa munziloona 'alaaa ahli haazihil qaryati rijzam minas samaaa'i bimaa kaanoo yafsuqoon

34.We are indeed going to bring down upon the people of this town a punishment from the sky because of the transgressions they used to commit.’

[11:31.00]

35.Certainly We have left of it a manifest sign for people who exercise their reason.

[11:44.50]

36.Wa ilaa Madyana akhaahum Shu'ayban faqaala yaa qawmi'-budul laaha warjul yawmal aakhira wa laa ta'saw fil ardi mufsideen

36.And to Midian We sent Shu‘ayb, their brother. He said, ‘O my people! Worship Allah, and expect [to encounter] the Last Day, and do not act wickedly on the earth causing corruption.’

[12:00.00]

37.Fakazzaboohu fa akhazat humur rajfatu fa asbahoo fee daarihim jaasimeen

37.But they impugned him, whereupon the earthquake seized them, and they lay lifeless prostrate in their homes.

[12:09.00]

38.Wa 'Aadanw wa Samooda wa qat tabaiyana lakum mim masaakinihim wa zaiyana lahumush Shaitaanu a'maalahum fasaddahum 'anis sabeeli wa kaanoo mustabsireen

38.And ‘Ad and Thamud, [whose fate] is evident to you from their habitations. Satan made their deeds seem decorous to them, thus he barred them from the way [of Allah], though they used to be perceptive.

[12:29.00]

39.Wa Qaaroona wa Fir'awna wa haamaana wa laqad jaaa'ahum Moosa bilbaiyinaati fastakbaroo fil ardi wa maa kaanoo saabiqeen

39.And Korah, Pharaoh, and Haman. Certainly, Moses brought them manifest proofs, but they acted arrogantly in the land; though they could not outmaneuver [Allah].

[12:49.00]

40.Fakullan akhaznaa bizam bihee faminhum man arsalnaa 'alaihi haasibaa; wa minhum man akhazat hus saihatu wa minhum man khasafnaa bihil arda wa minhum man aghraqnaa; wa maa kaanal laahu li yazlimahum wa laakin kaanoo anfusahum yazlimoon

40.So We seized each [of them] for his sin: among them were those upon whom We unleashed a rain of stones, and among them were those who were seized by the Cry, and among them were those whom We caused the earth to swallow, and among them were those whom We drowned. It was not Allah who wronged them, but it was they who used to wrong themselves.

[13:24.00]

41.The parable of those who take guardians instead of Allah is that of the spider that takes a home, and indeed the frailest of homes is the home of a spider, had they known!

[13:49.00]

42.Innal laaha ya'lamu maa yad'oona min doonihee min shai'; wa Huwal 'Azeezul Hakeem

42.Allah indeed knows whatever thing they invoke besides Him, and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.

[14:04.00]

43.We draw these parables for mankind; but no one grasps them except those who have knowledge.

[14:18.00]

44.Khalaqal laahus samaawaati wal arda bilhaqq; inna fee zaalika la aayatal lilmu mineen

44.Allah created the heavens and the earth with consummate wisdom. There is indeed a sign in that for the faithful.

[14:32.00]

45.Utlu maaa oohiya ilaika mional Kitaabi wa aqimis Salaata innas Salaata tanhaa 'anil fahshaaa'i wal munkar; wa lazikrul laahi akbar; wal laahu ya'lamu maa tasna'oon

45.Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book, and maintain the prayer. Indeed the prayer restrains from indecent and wrongful conduct, and the remembrance of Allah is surely greater. And Allah knows whatever [deeds] you do.

[14:59.00]

46.Wa laa tujaadilooo Ahlal Kitaabi illaa billatee hiya ahsanu illal lazeena zalamoo minhum wa qoolooo aamannaa billazeee unzila ilainaa wa unzila ilaikum wa illaahunna wa illahukum waahidunw-wa nahnu lahoo muslimoon

46.Do not argue with the People of the Book except in a manner which is best, except such of them as are wrongdoers, and say, ‘We believe in what has been sent down to us and in what has been sent down to you; our God and your God is one [and the same], and to Him do we submit.’

[15:31.00]

47.Wa kazaalika anzalnaaa ilaikal Kitaab; fallazeena aatainaahumul kitaaba yu'minoona bihee wa min haaa'ulaaa'i many yu'minu bih; wa maa yajhadu bi'Aayaatinaa illal kaafiroon

47.Thus We have sent down the Book to you; those to whom We have given the Book believe in it, and of these there are some who believe in it, and none contests Our signs except the faithless.

[15:60.00]

48.Wa maa kunta tatloo min qablihee min kitaabinw wa laa takhuttubhoo bi yameenika izal lartaabal mubtiloon

48.You did not use to recite any scripture before it, nor did you write it with your right hand, for then the impugners would have been skeptical.

[16:17.00]

49.Bal huwa aayaatum baiyinaatun fee sudooril lazeena ootul 'ilm; wa maa yajhadu bi aayaatinaa illaz zaalimoon

49.Indeed, it is [present as] manifest signs in the breasts of those who have been given knowledge, and none contests Our signs except wrongdoers.

[16:34.00]

50.Wa qaaloo law laaa unzila 'alaihi aayaatum mir Rabbihee qul innamal aayaatu 'indal laahi wa innamaaa ana nazeerum mubeen

50.They say, ‘Why has not some sign been sent down to him from his Lord?’ Say, ‘These signs are only from Allah, and I am only a manifest warner.’

[16:56.00]

51.Awa lam yakfihim annaaa anzalnaa 'alaikal kitaaba yutlaa 'alaikhim; inna fee zaalika larahmatanw wa zikraa liqawminy yu'minoon

51.Does it not suffice them that We have sent down to you the Book which is recited to them? There is indeed in that a mercy and admonition for a people who have faith.

[17:18.00]

52.Qul kafaa billaahi bainee wa bainakum shaheedaa; ya'lamu maa fis samaawaati wal ard; wallazeena aamanoo bil baatili wa kafaroo billaahi ulaaa'ika humul khaasiroon

52.Say, ‘Allah suffices as a witness between me and you: He knows whatever there is in the heavens and the earth. Those who put faith in falsehood and defy Allah—it is they who are the losers.’

[17:40.00]

53.They ask you to hasten the punishment. Yet were it not for a specified time, the punishment would have surely overtaken them. Surely, it will overtake them suddenly while they are unaware.

[18:03.00]

54.Yasta'jiloonak bil'azaab; wa inna Jahannama lamuhee tatum bilkaafireen

54.They ask you to hasten the punishment, and indeed hell will besiege the faithless

[18:15.00]

58.Those who have faith and do righteous deeds, We will surely settle them in the lofty abodes of paradise, with streams running in them, to remain in them [forever]. How excellent is the reward of the workers!

[19:25.00]
