[00:00.03]

1.Qad aflahal mu’minoon

1.Certainly, the faithful have attained salvation

[00:06.00]

2.Allazeena hum fee Salaatihim khaashi’oon

2.—those who are humble in their prayers

[00:14.00]

3.Wallazeena hum ‘anillaghwimu’ridoon

3.avoid vain talk,

[00:21.00]

4.Wallazeena hum liz Zakaati faa’iloon

4.carry out their [duty of] zakat,

5.Wallazeena hum lifuroo jihim haafizoon

5.guard their private parts,

[00:36.00]

6.Illaa ‘alaaa azwaajihim aw maa malakat aimaanuhum fa innahum ghairu maloomeen

6.(except from their spouses or their slave women, for then they are not blameworthy;

[00:51.00]

7.Famanib taghaa waraaa’a zaalika fa ulaaa’ika humul ‘aadoon

7.but whoever seeks [anything] beyond that—it is they who are transgressors),

[01:03.00]

8.Wallazeena hum li amaanaatihim wa ‘ahdihim raa’oon

8.and those who keep their trusts and covenants

[01:12.00]

9.Wallazeena hum ‘alaa Salawaatihim yuhaafizoon

9.and are watchful of their prayers.

[01:19.00]

10.Ulaaa’ika humul waarisoon

10.It is they who will be the inheritors,

[01:27.00]

11.Allazeena yarisoonal Firdawsa hum feehaa khaalidoon

11.who shall inherit paradise and will remain in it [forever].

[01:36.00]

12.Wa laqad khalaqnal insaana min sulaalatim minteen

12.Certainly We created man from an extract of clay.

[01:47.00]

13.Summa ja’alnaahu nutfatan fee qaraarim makeen

13.Then We made him a drop of [seminal] fluid [lodged] in a secure abode.

[01:46.00]

14.Summa khalaqnan nutfata ‘alaqatan fakhalaqnal ‘alaqata mudghatan fakhalaq nal mudghata ‘izaaman fakasawnal ‘izaama lahman summa anshaanaahu khalqan aakhar; fatabaarakal laahu ahsanul khaaliqeen

14.Then We created the drop of fluid as a clinging mass. Then We created the clinging mass as a fleshy tissue. Then We created the fleshy tissue as bones. Then We clothed the bones with flesh. Then We produced him as [yet] another creature. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators!

[02:31.00]

15.Summa innakum ba’da zaalika la maiyitoon

15.Then indeed you die after that.

[02:40.00]

16.Summa innakum Yawmal Qiyaamati tub’asoon

16.Then you will indeed be raised up on the Day of Resurrection.

[02:48.00]

17.Wa laqad khalaqnaa fawqakum sab’a taraaa’iqa wa maa kunnaa ‘anil khalqi ghaafileen

17.Certainly We created above you seven levels and We have not been oblivious of the creation.

[03:02.00]

18.Wa anzalnaa minas samaaa’i maaa’am biqadarin fa-askannaahu fil ardi wa innaa ‘alaa zahaabim bihee laqaa diroon

18.We sent down water from the sky in a measured manner, and We lodged it within the ground, and We are indeed able to take it away.

[03:23.00]

19.Fa anshaanaa lakum bihee Jannaatim min nakheelinw wa a’naab; lakum feehaa fawaakihu kaseeratunw wa minhaa taakuloon

19.Then with it We produced for you gardens of date palms and vines. There are abundant fruits in them for you, and you eat from them,

[03:47.00]

20.Wa shajaratan takhruju min Toori Sainaaa’a tambutu bidduhni wa sibghil lil aakileen

20.and a tree that grows on Mount Sinai, which produces oil and a seasoning for those who eat.

[04:01.00]

21.There is indeed a moral for you in the cattle: We give you to drink of that which is in their bellies, and you have many uses in them, and you eat some of them,

[04:20.00]

22.Wa ‘alaihaa wa’alal fulki tuhmaloon (section 1)

22.and you are carried on them and on ships.

[04:26.00]

23.Wa laqad arsalnaa Noohan ilaa qawmihee faqaala yaa qawmi’budul laaha maa lakum min ilahin ghairuhoo afalaa tattaqoon

23.Certainly We sent Noah to his people, and he said, ‘O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. Will you not then be wary [of Him]?’

[04:43.00]

24.Faqaalal mala’ul lazeena kafaroo min qawmihee maa haazaaa illaa basharum mislukum yureedu ai yatafaddala ‘alaikum wa law shaaa’al laahu la anzala malaaa’ikatam maa sami’naa bihaazaa feee aabaaa’inal awwaleen

24.But the elite of the faithless from among his people said, ‘This is just a human being like you, who seeks to dominate you. Had Allah wished, He would have sent down angels. We never heard of such a thing among our forefathers.

[05:21.00]

25.In huwa illaa rajulum bihee jinnatun fatarabbasoo bihee hatta heen

25.He is just a man possessed by madness. So bear with him for a while.’

[05:33.00]

26.Qaala Rabbin surnee bimaa kazzaboon

26.He said, ‘My Lord! Help me, for they impugn me.’

[05:41.00]

27.Fa awhainaaa ilaihi anis na’il fulka bi a’yuninaa wa wahyinaa fa izaa jaaa’a amrunaa wa faarat tannooru fasluk feehaa min kullin zawjainis naini wa ahlaka illaa man sabaqa ‘alaihil qawlu minhum walaa tukhaatibnee fil lazeena zalamooo innaahum mughraqoon

27.So We revealed to him: ‘Build the ark before Our eyes and by Our revelation. When Our edict comes and the oven gushes [a stream of water], bring into it a pair of every kind [of animal], and your family, except those of them against whom the decree has gone beforehand, and do not plead with Me for those who are wrongdoers: they shall indeed be drowned.’

[06:24.00]

28.Fa izas tawaita anta wa mam ma’aka ‘alal fulki faqulil hamdu lillaahil lazee najjaanaa minal qawmiz zalimeen

28.‘When you, and those who are with you, are settled in the ark, say, ‘‘All praise belongs to Allah, who has delivered us from the wrongdoing lot.’’

[06:40.00]

29.Wa qur Rabbi anzilnee munzalam mubaarakanw wa Anta khairul munzileen

29.And say, ‘‘My Lord! Land me with a blessed landing, for You are the best of those who bring ashore.’’ ’

[06:53.00]

30.Inna fee zaalika la Aayaatinw wa in kunnaa lamubtaleen

30.There are indeed signs in this; and indeed, We have been testing.

[07:04.00]

31.Summaa anshaana mim ba’dihim qarnan aakhareen

31.Then after them We brought forth another generation,

[07:13.00]

32.Fa arsalnaa feehim Rasoolam minhum ani’budul laaha maa lakum min ilaahin ghairuhoo afalaa tattaqoon (section 2)

32.and We sent them an apostle from among themselves, saying, ‘Worship Allah! You have no other god besides Him. Will you not then be wary [of Him]?’

[07:28.00]

33.Wa qaalal mala-u min qawmihil lazeena kafaroo wa kazzaboo bi liqaaa’il Aakhirati wa atrafnaahum fil hayaatid dunyaa maa haazaaa illaa basharum mislukum yaakulu mimmaa taakuloona minhu wa yashrabu mimmaa tashraboon

33.Said the elite of his people, who were faithless and who denied the encounter of the Hereafter and whom We had given affluence in the life of the world: ‘This is just a human being like yourselves: he eats what you eat, and drinks what you drink.

[08:06.00]

34.Wa la’in at’atum basharam mislakum innakum izal lakhaasiroon

34.If you obey a human being like yourselves, you will indeed be losers.

[08:16.00]

35.Does he promise you that when you have died and become bones and dust you will indeed be raised [from the dead]?

[08:30.00]

36.Haihaata haihaata limaa too’adoon

36.Far-fetched, far-fetched is what you are promised!

[08:37.00]

37.In hiya illaa hayaatunad dunyaa namootu wa nahyaa wa maa nahnu bimab’ooseen

37.There is nothing but the life of this world: we live and die, and we will not be resurrected.

[08:47.00]

38.In huwa illaa rajulunif taraa ‘alal laahi kazibanw wa maa nahnuu lahoo bimu’mineen

38.He is just a man who has fabricated a lie against Allah, and we will not believe in him.’

[08:58.00]

39.Qaala Rabbin surnee bimaa kazzaboon

39.He said, ‘My Lord! Help me, for they impugn me.’

[09:05.00]

40.Qaala ‘ammaa qaleelil la yusbihunna naadimeen

40.Said He, ‘In a little while they will become regretful.’

[09:12.00]

41.Fa akhazat humus saihatu bilhaqqi faja’alnaahum ghusaaa’aa; fabu’dal lilqaw miz zaalimeen

41.So the Cry seized them justly and We turned them into a scum. So away with the wrongdoing lot!

[09:26.00]

42.Summa anshaanaa mim ba’dihim quroonan aakhareen

42.Then after them We brought forth other generations.

[09:35.00]

43.Maa tasbiqu min ummatin ajalahaa wa maa yastaakhiroon

43.No nation can advance its time nor can it defer it.

[09:43.00]

44.Summa arsalnaa Rusulanaa tatraa kulla maa jaaa’a ummatar Rasooluhaa kazzabooh; fa atba’naa ba’dahum ba’danw wa ja’alnaahum ahaadees; fabu’dal liqawmil laa yu’minoon

44.Then We sent Our apostles successively. Whenever there came to a nation its apostle, they impugned him, so We made them follow one another [to extinction] and We turned them into folktales. So away with the faithless lot!

[10:11.00]

45.Summa arsalnaa Moosaa wa akhaahu Haaroona bi Aayaatinaa wa sultaanim mubeen

45.Then We sent Moses and Aaron, his brother, with Our signs and a manifest authority

[10:23.00]

46.Ilaa Fir’awna wa mala’ihee fastakbaroo wa kaanoo qawman ‘aaleen

46.to Pharaoh and his elites; but they acted arrogantly and they were a tyrannical lot.

[10:32.00]

47.Faqaaloo annu’minu libasharaini mislinaa wa qawmuhumaa lanaa ‘aabidoon

47.They said, ‘Shall we believe two humans like ourselves, while their people are our slaves?’

[10:42.00]

48.Fakazzaboohumaa fakaanoo minal muhlakeen

48.So they impugned the two of them, whereat they were among those who were destroyed.

[10:49.00]

49.Certainly We gave Moses the Book so that they might be guided,

[10:58.00]

50.and We made the son of Mary and his mother a sign, and sheltered them in a level highland with flowing water.

[11:18.00]

51.Yaaa aiyuhar Rusulu kuloo minat taiyibaati wa’maloo saalihan innee bimaa ta’maloona ‘Aleem

51.O apostles! Eat of the good things and act righteously. Indeed I know best what you do.

[11:33.00]

52.Wa inna haaziheee ummatukum ummatanw waahidatanw wa Ana Rabbukum fattaqoon

52.Indeed this community of yours is one community, and I am your Lord, so be wary of Me.

[11:47.00]

53.Fataqatta’ooo amrahum bainahum zuburaa; kullu hizbim bimaa ladaihim farihoon

53.But they fragmented their religion among themselves, each party boasting about what it had.

[12:00.00]

54.Fazarhum fee ghamratihim hattaa heen

54.So leave them in their stupor for a while.

[12:06.00]
