1.Immaculate is He who carried His servant on a journey by night from the Sacred Mosque to the Farthest Mosque whose environs We have blessed, that We might show him some of Our signs. Indeed, He is the All-hearing, the All-seeing.
[00:24.00]

4.Wa qadainaaa ilaa Baneee Israaa'eela fil Kitaabi latufsidunna fil ardi marratain; wa lata'lunna'uluwwan kabeeraa

[01:16.00]

5.So when the first occasion of the two [prophecies] came, We aroused against you Our servants possessing great might, and they ransacked [your] habitations, and the promise was bound to be fulfilled.
[01:49.00]
6.Summa radadnaa lakumul karrata 'alaihim wa amdad-naakum-bi amwaalinuw wa baneen; wa ja'alnaakum aksara nafeeraa
6.Then We gave you back the turn [to prevail] over them, and We aided you with children and wealth, and made you greater in number,
[02:06.00]

7.[saying,] ‘If you do good, you will do good to your [own] souls, and if you do evil, it will be [evil] for them.’ So when the occasion for the other [prophecy] comes, they will make your faces wretched, and enter the Temple just as they entered it the first time, and destroy utterly whatever they come upon.
[02:43.00]
8.'Asaa rabbukum anyyarhamakum; wa in 'uttum 'udnaa; wa ja'alnaa jahannama lilkaafireena haseera
8.Maybe your Lord will have mercy on you, but if you revert, We [too] will revert, and We have made hell a prison for the faithless.
[02:58.00]

12.We made the night and the day two signs. Then We faded out the sign of the night, and made the sign of the day lightsome, so that you may seek from your Lord’s bounty and that you may know the number of years and calculation [of time], and We have elaborated everything in detail.
[04:18.00]

14.Iqra kitaabak kafaa binafsikal Yawma 'alaika haseebaa
14.‘Read your book! Today your soul suffices as your own reckoner.’
[04:44.00]

15.Whoever is guided is guided only for [the good of] his own soul, and whoever goes astray, goes astray only to its detriment. No bearer shall bear another’s burden. We do not punish [any community] until We have sent [it] an apostle.
[05:08.00]

18.Whoever desires this transitory life, We expedite for him therein whatever We wish, for whomever We desire. Then We appoint hell for him, to enter it, blameful and spurned.
[06:22.00]

20.Kullan numiddu haaa 'ulaaa'i wa haaa'ulaaa'i min 'ataaa'i rabbik; wa maa kaana 'ataaa'u rabbika mahzooraa
20.To these and to those—to all We extend the bounty of your Lord, and the bounty of your Lord is not confined.
[06:59.00]
21.Unzur kaifa faddalnaa ba'dahum 'alaa ba'd; wa lal Aakhiratu akbaru darajaatinw wa akbaru tafdeelaa
21.Observe how We have given some of them an advantage over some others; yet the Hereafter is surely greater in respect of ranks and greater in respect of relative merit.
[07:15.00]
22.Do not set up another god besides Allah, or you will sit blameworthy, forsaken.
[07:24.00]
23.Wa qadaa Rabbuka allaa ta'budooo illaaa iyyaahu wa bilwaalidaini ihsaanaa; immaa yablughanna 'indakal kibara ahaduhumaaa aw kilaahumaa falaa taqul lahumaaa uffinw wa laa tanharhumaa wa qullahumaa qawlan kareemaa
23.Your Lord has decreed that you shall not worship anyone except Him, and [He has enjoined] kindness to parents. Should any of them or both reach old age at your side, do not say to them, ‘Fie!’ And do not chide them, but speak to them noble words.
[08:03.00]
24.Wakhfid lahumaa janaahaz zulli minar rahmati wa qur Rabbir hamhumaa kamaa rabbayaanee sagheera
24.Lower the wing of humility to them, mercifully, and say, ‘My Lord! Have mercy on them, just as they reared me when I was [a] small [child]!’
[08:14.00]
25.Rabbukum a'lamu bimaa fee nufoosikum; in takoonoo saaliheena fa innahoo kaana lil awwaabeena Ghafoooraa
25.Your Lord knows best what is in your hearts. Should you be righteous, He is indeed most forgiving toward penitents.
[08:28.00]

26.Give the relatives their [due] right, and the needy and the traveller [as well], but do not squander wastefully.
[08:38.00]

28.Wa immaa turidanna 'anhumub tighaaa'a rahmatim mir rabbika tarjoohaa faqul lahum qawlam maisooraa
28.And if you have to hold off from [assisting] them [for now], seeking your Lord’s mercy which you expect [in the future], speak to them gentle words.
[09:08.00]
29.Wa laa taj'al yadaka maghloolatan il 'unuqika wa laa tabsut haa kullal basti fataq'uda maloomam mahsooraa
29.Do not keep your hand chained to your neck, nor open it altogether, or you will sit blameworthy and regretful.
[09:21.00]
30.Inna Rabbaka yabsuturrizqa limai yashaaa'u wa yaqdir; innahoo kaana bi'ibaadihee Khabeeram Baseera
30.Indeed your Lord expands the provision for whomever He wishes, and tightens it. Indeed, He is well aware of His servants and a keen observer.
[09:36.00]
31.Wa laa taqtulooo awlaadakum khashyata imlaaq; nahnu narzuquhum wa iyyaakum; inna qatlahum kaana khitan kabeeraa
31.Do not kill your children for the fear of penury: We will provide for them and for you. Killing them is indeed a great iniquity.
[09:53.00]
32.Wa laa taqrabuz zinaaa innahoo kaana faahishatanw wa saaa'a sabeelaa
32.Do not approach fornication. It is indeed an indecency and an evil way.
[10:04.00]
33.Wa laa taqtulun nafsal latee harramal laahu illaa bilhaqq; wa man qutila mazlooman faqad ja'alnaa liwaliyyihee sultaanan falaa yusrif fil qatli innahoo kaana mansooraa
33.Do not kill a soul [whose life] Allah has made inviolable, except with due cause, and whoever is killed wrongfully, We have certainly given his heir an authority. But let him not commit any excess in killing [the murderer], for he has been assisted [by law].
[10:28.00]

35.When you measure, observe fully the measure, [and] weigh with an even balance. That is better and more favourable with respect to the outcome [in the Hereafter].
[10:59.00]

36.Do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed hearing, eyesight, and the heart—all of these are accountable.
[11:14.00]
37.Wa laa tamshi fil ardi marahan innaka lan takhriqal arda wa lan tablughal jibaala toola
37.Do not walk exultantly on the earth. Indeed, you will neither pierce the earth, nor reach the mountains in height.
[11:27.00]
38.Kullu zaalika kaana sayyi'uhoo inda Rabbika makroohaa
38.The evil of all these is detestable to your Lord.
[11:35.00]
39.Zaalika mimmaaa awhaaa ilaika Rabbuka minal hikmah; wa laa taj'al ma'allaahi ilaahan aakhara fatulqaa fee Jahannama maloomam mad hooraa
39.These are among [precepts] that your Lord has revealed to you of wisdom. Do not set up another god besides Allah, or you will be cast into hell, being blameworthy and banished [from His mercy].
[11:56.00]
40.Afa asfaakum rabbukum bilbaneena wattakhaza minal malaaa'ikati inaasaa; innakum lataqooloona qawlan 'azeema
40.Did your Lord prefer you for sons, and [Himself] adopt females from among the angels? Indeed, you say a monstrous word!
[12:12.00]
41.Wa laqad sarrafnaa fee haazal Quraani liyazzakkaroo wa maa yazeeduhum illaa nufooraa
