[00:00.02]

Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

[00:07.00]

1.Alif-Laaam-Raa; Kitaabun uhkimat Aayaatuhoo summa fussilat mil ladun Hakeemin Khabeer

1.Alif-Lãm-Ra. ˹This is˺ a Book whose verses are well perfected and then fully explained. ˹It is˺ from the One ˹Who is˺ All-Wise, All-Aware.

[00:25.00]

2.Allaa ta’budooo illal laah; innanee lakum minhu nazeerunw wa basheer

2.˹Tell them, O Prophet,˺ “Worship none but Allah. Surely I am a warner and deliverer of good news to you from Him.

[00:41.00]

3.Wa anis taghfiroo Rabbakum summa toobooo ilaihi yumatti’kum mataa’an hasanan ilaaa ajalim musammanw wa yu’ti kulla zee fadlin fadlahoo wa in tawallaw fa inneee akhaafu ‘alaikum ‘azaaba Yawmin Kabeer

3.And seek your Lord’s forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance. He will grant you a good provision for an appointed term and graciously reward the doers of good. But if you turn away, then I truly fear for you the torment of a formidable Day.

[01:17.00]

4.Ilal laahi marji’ukum wa Huwa ‘alaa kulli shai’in Qadeer

4.To Allah is your return. And He is Most Capable of everything.”

[01:26.00]

5.Alaa innahum yasnoona sudoorahum liyastakhfoo minh; alaa heena yastaghshoona siyaabahum ya’lamu maa yusirroona wa maa yu’linoon; innahoo ‘aleemun bizaatis sudoor (End Juz 11)

5.Indeed, they1 enfold ˹what is in˺ their hearts, ˹trying˺ to hide it from Him! But even when they cover themselves with their clothes, He knows what they conceal and what they reveal. Surely He knows best what is ˹hidden˺ in the heart.

[01:55.00]

6.There is no moving creature on earth whose provision is not guaranteed by Allah. And He knows where it lives and where it is laid to rest. All is ˹written˺ in a perfect Record.1

[02:20.00]

7.Wa Huwal lazee khalaqas samaawaati wal arda fee sittati aiyaaminw wa kaana ‘Arshuhoo alal maaa’i liyabluwakum aiyukum ahsanu ‘amalaa; wa la’in qulta innakum mab’oosoona min ba’dil mawti la yaqoolannal lazeena kafaroo in haazaaa illaa sihrum mubeen

7.He is the One Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days1—and His Throne was upon the waters—in order to test which of you is best in deeds. And if you ˹O Prophet˺ say, “Surely you will ˹all˺ be raised up after death,” the disbelievers will certainly say, “That is nothing but pure magic!”

[03:07.00]

8.Wala’in akharnaa ‘anhumul ‘azaaba ilaaa ummatim ma’doodatil la yaqoolunna maa yahbisuh; alaa yawma ya’teehim laisa masroofan ‘anhum wa haaqa bihim maa kaanoo bihee yastahzi’oon (section 1)

8.And if We delay their punishment until an appointed time, they will definitely say, “What is holding it back?” Indeed, on the Day it overtakes them, it will not be averted from them, and they will be overwhelmed by what they used to ridicule.

[03:36.00]

9.Wa la’in azaqnal insaana minnaa rahmatan summa naza’naahaa minhu, innahoo laya’oosun kafoor

9.If We give people a taste of Our mercy then take it away from them, they become utterly desperate, ungrateful.

[03:53.00]

10.Wala’in azaqnaahu na’maaa’a ba’da darraaa’a massat hu la yaqoolanna zahabas saiyiaatu ‘anneee; innahoo lafarihun fakhoor

10.But if We give them a taste of prosperity after being touched with adversity, they say, “My ills are gone,” and become totally prideful and boastful,

[04:16.00]

11.Illal lazeena sabaroo wa ‘amilus saalihaati ulaaa’ika lahum maghfiratunw wa ajrun kabeer

11.except those who patiently endure and do good. It is they who will have forgiveness and a mighty reward.

[04:31.00]

12.Fala’allaka taarikum ba’da maa yoohaaa ilaika wa daaa’iqum bihee sadruka ai yaqooloo law laaa unzila ‘alaihi kanzun aw jaaa’a ma’ahoo malak; innamaa anta nazeer; wallaahu ‘alaa kulli shai’inw wakeel

12.Perhaps you ˹O Prophet˺ may wish to give up some of what is revealed to you and may be distressed by it because they say, “If only a treasure had been sent down to him, or an angel had come with him!” You are only a warner, and Allah is the Trustee of All Affairs.

[05:15.00]

13.Am yaqooloonaf taraahu qul faatoo bi’ashri Suwarim mislihee muftarayaatinw wad’oo manis tata’tum min doonil laahi in kuntum saadiqeen

13.Or do they say, “He1 has fabricated this ˹Quran˺!”? Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Produce ten fabricated sûrahs like it and seek help from whoever you can—other than Allah—if what you say is true!”

[05:41.00]

14.Fa il lam yastajeeboo lakum fa’lamooo annamaaa unzilla bi’ilmil laahi wa al laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa fahal antum muslimoon

14.But if your helpers fail you, then know that it has been revealed with the knowledge of Allah, and that there is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him! Will you ˹not˺ then submit ˹to Allah˺?

[06:05.00]

15.Man kaana yureedul hayaatad dunyaa wa zeenatahaa nuwaffi ilaihim a’maa lahum feehaa wa hum feehaa laa yubkhasoon

15.Whoever desires ˹only˺ this worldly life and its luxuries, We will pay them in full for their deeds in this life—nothing will be left out.

[06:28.00]

16.It is they who will have nothing in the Hereafter except the Fire. Their efforts in this life will be fruitless and their deeds will be useless.

[06:50.00]

17.Afaman kaana ‘ala baiyinatim mir Rabbihee wa yatloohu shaahidum minhu wa min qablihee Kitaabu Moosaaa imaamanw wa rahmah; ulaaa ‘ika yu’minoona bih; wa mai yakfur bihee minal Ahzaabi fan Naaru maw’iduh; falaa taku fee miryatim minh; innahul haqqu mir Rabbika wa laakinna aksaran naasi laa yu’minoon

17.˹Can these people be compared to˺ those ˹believers˺ who stand on clear proof from their Lord, backed by ˹the Quran as˺ a witness from Him, and preceded by the Book of Moses ˹which was revealed˺ as a guide and mercy? It is those ˹believers˺ who have faith in it. But whoever from the ˹disbelieving˺ groups rejects it, the Fire will be their destiny. So do not be in doubt of it. It is certainly the truth from your Lord, but most people do not believe.

[07:40.00]

18.Wa man azlamu mimmanif taraa ‘alal laahi kazibaa; ulaaa’ika yu’radoona ‘alaa Rabbihim wa yaqoolul ashhaa duhaaa’ulaaa’il lazeena kazaboo ‘alaa Rabbihim; alaa la’natul laahi alaz zaalimeen

18.Who does more wrong than those who fabricate lies against Allah? They will be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses1 will say, “These are the ones who lied against their Lord.” Surely Allah’s condemnation is upon the wrongdoers,

[08:10.00]

19.Allazeena yasuddoona ‘an sabeelil laahi wa yabghoonahaa ‘iwajanw wa hum bil Aakhiratihum kaafiroon

19.who hinder ˹others˺ from Allah’s Path, striving to make it ˹appear˺ crooked, and disbelieve in the Hereafter.

[08:26.00]

20.Ulaaa’ika lam yakoonoo mu’jizeena fil ardi wa maa kaana lahum min doonil laahi min awliyaaa’; yudaa’afu lahumul ‘azaab; maa kaanoo yastatee’oonas sam’a wa maa kaanoo yubsiroon

20.They will never frustrate Allah on earth, and they will have no protector besides Allah. Their punishment will be multiplied, for they failed to hear or see ˹the truth˺.

[08:56.00]

21.Ulaaa’ikal lazeena khasirooo anfusahum wa dalla ‘anhum maa kaanoo yaftaroon

21.It is they who have ruined themselves, and whatever ˹gods˺ they fabricated will fail them.

[09:13.00]

22.Laa jarama annahum fil Aakhirati humul akhsaroon

22.Without a doubt, they will be the worst losers in the Hereafter.

[09:21.00]

23.Innal lazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati wa akhbatooo ilaa Rabbihim ulaaa’ika Ashaabul Jannati hum feehaa khaalidoon

23.Surely those who believe, do good, and humble themselves before their Lord will be the residents of Paradise. They will be there forever.

[09:43.00]

24.Masalul fareeqaini kal a’maa wal asammi walbaseeri wassamee’; hal yastawiyaani masalaa; afalaa tazakkaroon (section 2)

24.The example of these two parties is that of the blind and the deaf, compared to the seeing and the hearing. Can the two be equal? Will you not then be mindful?

[10:02.00]

25.Wa laqad arsalnaa Noohan ilaa qawmihee innee lakum nazeerum mubeen

25.Surely We sent Noah to his people. ˹He said,˺ “Indeed, I am sent to you with a clear warning

[10:14.00]

26.Al laa ta’budooo illal laaha inneee akhaafu ‘alaikum ‘azaaba Yawmin aleem

26.that you should worship none but Allah. I truly fear for you the torment of a painful Day.”

[10:30.00]

27.Faqaalal mala ul lazeena kafaroo min qawmihee ma naraaka illaa basharam mislanaa wa maa naraakat taba’aka illal lazeena hum araazilunaa baadiyar raayi wa maa naraa lakum ‘alainaa min fadlim bal nazunnukum kaazibeen

27.The disbelieving chiefs of his people said, “We see you only as a human being like ourselves, and we see that no one follows you except the lowliest among us, who do so ˹hastily˺ without thinking.1 We do not see anything that makes ˹all of˺ you any better than us. In fact, we think you are liars.”

[11:05.00]

28.Qaala yaa qawmi ara’aitum in kuntu ‘alaa baiyinatim mir Rabbee wa aataanee rahmatam min ‘indihee fa’um miyat ‘alaikum anulzimuku moohaa wa antum lahaa kaarihoon

28.He said, “O my people! Consider if I stand on a clear proof from my Lord and He has blessed me with a mercy from Himself,1 which you fail to see. Should we ˹then˺ force it on you against your will?

[11:36.00]

29.Wa yaa qawmi laaa as’alukum ‘alaihi maalan in ajriya illaa ‘alal laah; wa maaa ana bitaaridil lazeena aamanoo; innahum mulaaqoo Rabbihim wa laakinneee araakum qawman tajhaloon

29.O my people! I do not ask you for a payment for this ˹message˺. My reward is only from Allah. And I will never dismiss the believers, for they will surely meet their Lord. But I can see that you are a people acting ignorantly.

[12:10.00]

30.Wa yaa qawmi mai yansurunee minal laahi in tarattuhum; afalaa tazak karoon

30.O my people! Who would protect me from Allah if I were to dismiss them? Will you not then be mindful?

[12:24.00]

31.I do not say to you that I possess Allah’s treasuries or know the unseen, nor do I claim to be an angel, nor do I say that Allah will never grant goodness to those you look down upon. Allah knows best what is ˹hidden˺ within them. ˹If I did,˺ then I would truly be one of the wrongdoers.”

[13:09.00]

32.Qaaloo yaa Noohu qad jaadaltanaa fa aksarta jidaalanaa faatinaa bimaa ta’idunaaa in kunta minas saadiqeen

32.They protested, “O Noah! You have argued with us far too much, so bring upon us what you threaten us with, if what you say is true.”

[13:30.00]

33.Qaala innamaa yaateekum bihil laahu in shaaa’a wa maaa antum bimu’jizeen

33.He responded, “It is Allah Who can bring it upon you if He wills, and then you will have no escape!

[13:47.00]

34.Wa laa yanfa’ukum nusheee in arattu an ansaha lakum in kaanal laahu yureedu ai yughwi yakum; Huwa Rabbukum wa ilaihi turja’oon

34.My advice will not benefit you—no matter how hard I try—if Allah wills ˹for˺ you to stray. He is your Lord, and to Him you will ˹all˺ be returned.”

[14:09.00]

35.Am yaqooloonaf taraahu qul inif taraituhoo fa’alaiya ijraamee wa ana bareee’um mimmaa tujrimoon (section 3)

35.Or do they say, “He1 has fabricated this ˹Quran˺!”? Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “If I have done so, then I bear the burden of that sin! But I am free from your sinful accusation.”

[14:29.00]

36.Wa oohiya ilaa Noohin annahoo lany-yu’mina min qawmika illaa man qad aamana falaa tabta’is bimaa kaanoo yaf’aloon

36.And it was revealed to Noah, “None of your people will believe except those who already have. So do not be distressed by what they have been doing.

[14:56.00]

37.Wasna’il fulka bi-a’yuninaa wa wahyinaa wa laa tukhaa tibnee fil lazeena zalamoo; innahum mughraqoon

37.And build the Ark under Our ˹watchful˺ Eyes and directions, and do not plead with Me for those who have done wrong, for they will surely be drowned.”

[15:12.00]

38.Wa yasna’ul fulka wa kullamaa marra ‘alaihi mala’um min qawmihee sakhiroo minh; qaala in taskharoo minnaa fa innaa naskharu minkum kamaa taskharoon

38.So he began to build the Ark, and whenever some of the chiefs of his people passed by, they mocked him. He said, “If you laugh at us, we will ˹soon˺ laugh at you similarly.

[15:35.00]

39.You will soon come to know who will be visited by a humiliating torment ˹in this life˺ and overwhelmed by an everlasting punishment ˹in the next˺.”

[15:50.00]

40.Hattaaa izaa jaaa’a amrunaa wa faarat tannooru qulnah mil feehaa min kullin zawjainis naini wa ahlaka illaa man sabaqa ‘alaihil qawlu wa man aaman; wa maaa aamana ma’ahooo illaa qaleel

40.And when Our command came and the oven burst ˹with water˺,1 We said ˹to Noah˺, “Take into the Ark a pair from every species along with your family—except those against whom the decree ˹to drown˺ has already been passed—and those who believe.” But none believed with him except for a few.

[16:31.00]

41.And he said, “Board it! In the Name of Allah it will sail and cast anchor. Surely my Lord is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

[16:46.00]

42.Wa hiya tajree bihim fee mawjin kaljibaali wa naadaa Noohunib nahoo wa kaana fee ma’ziliny yaa bunai yarkam ma’anaa wa laa takum ma’al kaafireen

42.And ˹so˺ the Ark sailed with them through waves like mountains. Noah called out to his son, who stood apart, “O my dear son! Come aboard with us and do not be with the disbelievers.”

[17:11.00]

43.Qaala sa aaweee ilaa jabaliny ya’simunee minal maaa’; qaala laa ‘aasimal yawma min amril laahi illaa mar rahim; wa haala bainahumal mawju fakaana minal mughraqeen

43.He replied, “I will take refuge on a mountain, which will protect me from the water.” Noah cried, “Today no one is protected from Allah’s decree except those to whom He shows mercy!” And the waves came between them, and his son was among the drowned.

[17:38.00]

44.And it was said, “O earth! Swallow up your water. And O sky! Withhold ˹your rain˺.” The floodwater receded and the decree was carried out. The Ark rested on Mount Judi, and it was said, “Away with the wrongdoing people!”

[18:06.00]

45.Wa naadaa noohur Rabbahoo faqaala Rabbi innabnee min ahlee wa inna wa’dakal haqqu wa Anta ahkamul haakimeen

45.Noah called out to his Lord, saying, “My Lord! Certainly my son is ˹also˺ of my family, Your promise is surely true, and You are the most just of all judges!”

[18:27.00]

46.Qaala yaa Noohu innahoo laisa min ahlika innahoo ‘amalun ghairu saalihin falaa tas’alni maa laisa laka bihee ‘ilmun inneee a’izuka an takoona minal jaahileen

46.Allah replied, “O Noah! He is certainly not of your family—he was entirely of unrighteous conduct. So do not ask Me about what you have no knowledge of! I warn you so you do not fall into ignorance.”

[18:52.00]

47.Qaala rabbi inneee a’oozu bika an as’alaka maa laisa lee bihee ‘ilmunw wa illaa taghfir lee wa tarhamneee akum minal khaasireen

47.Noah pleaded, “My Lord, I seek refuge in You from asking You about what I have no knowledge of, and unless You forgive me and have mercy on me, I will be one of the losers.”

[19:15.00]

48.Qeela yaa Noohuh bit bisalaamim minnaa wa barakaatin ‘alaika wa ‘alaaa umamim mimmam ma’ak; wa umamun sanumatti’uhum summa yamassuhum minna ‘azaabun aleem

48.It was said, “O Noah! Disembark with Our peace and blessings on you and some of the descendants of those with you. As for the others, We will allow them ˹a brief˺ enjoyment, then they will be touched with a painful punishment from Us.”

[19:44.00]

49.This is one of the stories of the unseen, which we reveal to you ˹O Prophet˺. Neither you nor your people knew it before this. So be patient! Surely the ultimate outcome belongs ˹only˺ to the righteous.

[20:15.00]

50.And to the people of ’Âd We sent their brother Hûd. He said, “O my people! Worship Allah. You have no god other than Him. You do nothing but fabricate lies ˹against Allah˺.

[20:34.00]

51.Yaa qawmi laaa as’alukum ‘alaihi ajran in ajriya illaa ‘alal lazee fataranee; afalaa ta’qiloon

51.O my people! I do not ask you for any reward for this ˹message˺. My reward is only from the One Who created me. Will you not then understand?

[20:51.00]

52.And O my people! Seek your Lord’s forgiveness and turn to Him in repentance. He will shower you with rain in abundance, and add strength to your strength. So do not turn away, persisting in wickedness.”

[21:22.00]

53.Qaaloo yaa Hoodu maa ji’tanaa bibaiyinatinw wa maa nahnu bitaarikeee aalihatinaa ‘an qawlika wa maa nahnu laka bimu’mineen

53.They argued, “O Hûd! You have not given us any clear proof, and we will never abandon our gods upon your word, nor will we believe in you.

[21:49.00]

56.I have put my trust in Allah—my Lord and your Lord. There is no living creature that is not completely under His control.1 Surely my Lord’s Way is perfect justice.2

[22:56.00]

59.Wa tilka ‘aad, jahadoo bi Aayaati Rabbihim wa ‘asaw Rusulahoo wattaba’ooo amra kulli jabbaarin ‘aneed

[24:07.00]

[25:39.00]

108.And as for those destined to joy, they will be in Paradise, staying there forever, as long as the heavens and the earth will endure, except what your Lord wills1—a ˹generous˺ giving, without end.

[41:20.00]

109.Falaa taku fee miryatim mimmmaa ya’budu haaa’ulaaa’; maa ya’budoona illaa kamaa ya’budu aabaaa’uhum min qabl; wa innaa lamuwaf foohum naseebahum ghaira manqoos (section 9)

109.So do not be in doubt ˹O Prophet˺ about what those ˹pagans˺ worship. They worship nothing except what their forefathers worshipped before ˹them˺. And We will certainly give them their share ˹of punishment˺ in full, without any reduction.

[41:52.00]

110.Wa laqad aatainaa Moosal Kitaaba fakhtulifa feeh; wa law laa Kalimatun sabaqat mir Rabbika laqudiya bainahum; wa innahum lafee shakkim minhu mureeb

110.Indeed, We had given Moses the Scripture, but differences arose regarding it. Had it not been for a prior decree from your Lord,1 their differences would have been settled ˹at once˺. They are truly in alarming doubt about it.

[42:15.00]

111.And surely your Lord will fully pay all for their deeds. He is certainly All-Aware of what they do.

[42:30.00]

112.Fastaqim kamaaa umirta wa man taaba ma’aka wa laa tatghaw; innahoo bimaa ta’maloona Baseer

112.So be steadfast as you are commanded ˹O Prophet˺, along with those who turn ˹in submission to Allah˺ with you. And do not transgress. Surely He is All-Seeing of what you ˹believers˺ do.

[42:45.00]

113.Wa laa tarkanooo ilal lazeena zalamoo fatamassa kumun Naaru wa maa lakum min doonil laahi min awliyaaa’a summa laa tunsaroon

113.And do not be inclined to the wrongdoers or you will be touched by the Fire. For then you would have no protectors other than Allah, nor would you be helped.

[43:18.00]

114.Wa aqimis Salaata tarafayin nahaari wa zulafam minal layl; innal hasanaati yuzhibnas saiyi aat; zaalika zikraa liz zaakireen

114.Establish prayer ˹O Prophet˺ at both ends of the day and in the early part of the night.1 Surely good deeds wipe out evil deeds. That is a reminder for the mindful.

[43:40.00]

115.Wasbir fa innal laaha laa yudee’u ajral muhsineen

115.And be patient! Certainly Allah does not discount the reward of the good-doers.

[43:48.00]

116.Falaw laa kaana minal qurooni min qablikum ooloo baqiyyatiny yanhawna ‘anil fasaadi fil ardi illaa qaleelam mimman anjainaa minhum; wattaba’al lazeena zalamoo maaa utrifoo feehi wa kaanoo mujrimeen

116.If only there had been among the ˹destroyed˺ peoples before you, ˹O believers,˺ virtuous individuals who forbade corruption in the land—other than the few We had saved ˹from the torment˺. But the wrongdoers ˹only˺ pursued their ˹worldly˺ pleasures, becoming wicked.

[44:17.00]

117.Wa maa kaana Rabbuka liyuhlikal quraa bizulminw wa ahluhaa muslihoon

117.And your Lord ˹O Prophet˺ would never destroy a society unjustly while its people were acting rightly.

[44:28.00]

118.Wa law shaaa’a Rabbuka laja’alannnaasa ummatanw waa hidatanw wa laa yazaaloona mukhtalifeen

118.Had your Lord so willed, He would have certainly made humanity one single community ˹of believers˺, but they will always ˹choose to˺ differ—

[44:43.00]

119.except those shown mercy by your Lord—and so He created them ˹to choose freely˺. And so the Word of your Lord will be fulfilled: “I will surely fill up Hell with jinn and humans all together.”

[45:02.00]

120.Wa kullan naqussu ‘alaika min ambaaa’ir Rusuli maa nusabbitu bihee fu’aadak; wa jaaa’aka fee haazihil haqqu wa maw’izatunw wa zikraa lilmu’ mineen

120.And We relate to you ˹O Prophet˺ the stories of the messengers to reassure your heart. And there has come to you in this ˹sûrah˺ the truth, a warning ˹to the disbelievers˺, and a reminder to the believers.

[45:26.00]

121.Say to those who disbelieve, “Persist in your ways; we will certainly persist in ours.

[45:38.00]

122.Wantaziroo innaa mun taziroon

122.And wait! Surely we ˹too˺ are waiting.”

[45:48.00]

123.Wa lillaahi ghaibus samaawaati wal ardi wa ilaihi yurja’ul amru kulluhoo fa’bud hu wa tawakkal ‘alaih; wa maa Rabbuka bighaafilin ‘ammaa ta’maloon (section 10)

123.To Allah ˹alone˺ belongs the knowledge of what is hidden in the heavens and the earth. And to Him all matters are returned. So worship Him and put your trust in Him. And your Lord is never unaware of what you do.
