[00:01.00]

A'udhu billahi min ash-shaytaan-ir-rajeem

I seek refuge with Allah from Satan, the accursed

[00:03.00]

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

[00:05.00]

1.Qad sami'al laahu qawlal latee tujaadiluka fee zawjihaa wa tashtakeee ilal laahi wallaahu yasma'u tahaawurakumaa; innal laaha samee'um baseer

1.Allah has certainly heard the speech of her who pleads with you about her husband and complains to Allah. Allah hears the conversation between the two of you. Indeed Allah is all-hearing, all-seeing.

[00:25.00]

2.As for those of you who repudiate their wives by zihar, they are not their mothers; their mothers are only those who bore them, and indeed they utter an outrage and a lie. Indeed Allah is all-excusing, all-forgiving.

[00:52.00]

3.Wallazeena yuzaahiroona min nisaaa'ihim summa ya'oodoona limaa qaaloo fatabreeru raqabatim min qabli any-yatamaaassaa; zaalikum too'azoona bih; wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona khabeer

3.Those who repudiate their wives by ³ih¡r and then retract what they have said, shall set free a slave before they may touch each other. This you are advised [to carry out], and Allah is well aware of what you do.

[01:17.00]

4.Famal lam yajid fa siyaamu shahraini mutataabi'ayni min qabli any-yatamaaassaa famal lam yastati' fa-it'aamu sitteena miskeena; zaalika litu'minoo billaahi wa rasoolih'wa tilka hudoodul laah; wa lilkaafireena 'azaabun aleem

4.He who cannot afford [to free a slave] shall fast for two successive months before they may touch each other. If he cannot [do so], he shall feed sixty needy persons. This, that you may have faith in Allah and His Apostle. These are Allah’s bounds, and there is a painful punishment for the faithless.

[01:45.00]

5.Innal lazeena yuhaaaddoonal laaha wa Rasoolahoo kubitoo kamaa kubital lazeena min qablihim; wa qad anzalnaaa aayaatim baiyinaat; wa lilkaa fireena 'azaabum muheen

5.Indeed those who oppose Allah and His Apostle will be subdued just as those who passed before them were subdued. We have certainly sent down manifest signs, and there is a humiliating punishment for the faithless.

[02:09.00]

6.Yawma yab'asuhumul laahu jamee'an fayunabbi'uhum bimaa 'amiloo; ahsaahul laahu wa nasooh; wallaahu 'alaa kulli shai'in shaheed

6.The day when Allah will raise them all together, He will inform them about what they have done. Allah has kept account of it, while they have forgotten, and Allah is witness to all things.

[02:39.00]

7.Alam tara annal laaha ya'lamu maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ardi maa yakoonu min najwaa salaasatin illaa Huwa raabi'uhum wa laa khamsatin illaa huwa saadisuhum wa laaa adnaa min zaalika wa laaa aksara illaa huwa ma'ahum ayna, maa kaanoo summa yunabbi'uhum bimaa 'amiloo yawmal qiyaamah; innal laaha bikulli shai'in aleem

7.Have you not regarded that Allah knows whatever there is in the heavens and whatever there is in the earth? There dost not takes place any secret talk among three, but He is their fourth [companion], nor among five but He is their sixth, nor when they are less than that or more but He is with them wherever they may be. Then He will inform them about what they have done on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed Allah has knowledge of all things.

[03:25.00]

8.Alam tara ilal lazeena nuhoo 'anin najwaa summa ya'oodoona limaa nuhoo 'anhu wa yatanaajawna bil ismi wal'udwaani wa ma'siyatir rasooli wa izaa jaaa'ooka haiyawka bimaa lam yuhai yika bihil laahu wa yaqooloona fee anfusihim law laa yu'azzibunal laahu bimaa naqool; hasbuhum jahannnamu yaslawnahaa fabi'sal maseer

8.Have you not regarded those who were forbidden from secret talks but again resumed what they had been forbidden from, and hold secret talks [imbued] with sin and transgression and disobedience to the Apostle? And when they come to you they greet you with words with which Allah never greeted you, and they say to themselves, ‘Why does not Allah punish us for what we say?!’ Let hell suffice them: they shall enter it, and it is an evil destination!

[04:08.00]

9.Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo izaa tanaajaytum falaa tatanaajaw bil ismi wal 'udwaani wa ma'siyatir rasooli wa tanaajaw bil birri wattaqwaa wattaqul laahal lazeee ilaihi tuhsharoon

9.O you who have faith! When you converse secretly, do not hold private conversations [imbued] with sin and aggression and disobedience to the Apostle, but converse in [a spirit of] piety and Godfearing, and be wary of Allah toward whom you will be gathered.

[04:40.00]

10.Innaman najwaa minash shaitaani liyahzunal lazeena aamanoo wa laisa bidaaarrihim shai'an illaa bi-iznil laah; wa 'alal laahi falyatawakkalil mu'minoon

10.Indeed [malicious] secret talks are from Satan, that he may upset the faithful, but he cannot harm them in any way except by Allah’s leave, and in Allah let all the faithful put their trust.

[05:09.00]

11.Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo izaa qeela lakum tafassahoo fil majaalisi fafsahoo yafsahil laahu lakum wa izaa qeelan shuzoo fanshuzoo yarfa'il laahul lazeena aamanoo minkum wallazeena ootul 'ilma darajaat; wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona khabeer

11.O you who have faith! When you are told, ‘Make room,’ in sittings, then do make room; Allah will make room for you. And when you are told, ‘Rise up!’ Do rise up. Allah will raise in rank those of you who have faith and those who have been given knowledge, and Allah is well aware of what you do.

[05:40.00]

12.Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanooo izaa naajitumur Rasoola faqaddimoo baina yadai najwaakum sadaqah; zaalika khairul lakum wa athar; fa il lam tajidoo fa innal laaha ghafoorur Raheem

12.O you who have faith! When you converse privately with the Apostle, offer a charity before your private talk. That is better for you and purer. But if you cannot afford [to make the offering], then Allah is indeed all-forgiving, all-merciful.

[06:00.00]

13.'A-ashfaqtum an tuqaddimoo baina yadai najwaakum sadaqaat; fa-iz lam taf'aloo wa taabal laahu 'alaikum fa aqeemus Salaata wa aatuz Zakaata wa atee'ul laaha wa rasoolah; wallaahu khabeerum bimaa ta'maloon

13.Were you dismayed by having to offer charities before your private talks? Since you did not do it, and Allah has excused you [for not be able to comply], now maintain the prayer and pay the zakat, and obey Allah and His Apostle. Allah is well aware of what you do.

[06:26.00]

14.Have you not regarded those who befriend a people at whom Allah is wrathful? They neither belong to you, nor to them, and they swear false oaths [that they are with you] and they know.

[06:45.00]

15.A'addal laahu lahum 'azaaban shadeedan innahum saaa'a maa kaanoo ya'maloon

15.Allah has prepared a severe punishment for them. Evil indeed is what they used to do.

[06:58.00]

16.Ittakhazooo aymaanahum junnatan fasaddoo 'an sabeelil laahi falahum 'azaabum muheen

16.They make a shield of their oaths and bar [people] from the way of Allah; so there is a humiliating punishment for them.

[07:15.00]

17.Lan tughniya 'anhum amwaaluhum wa laaa awladuhum minal laahi shai'aa; ulaaa 'ika As haabun Naari hum feehaa khaalidoon

17.Their possessions and children will not avail them in any way against Allah. They shall be the inmates of the Fire and they shall remain in it [forever].

[07:37.00]

18.Yawma yab'asuhumul laahujamee'an fa yahlifoona lahoo kamaa yahlifoona lakum wa yahsaboona annahum 'alaa shai'; alaaa innahum humul kaaziboon

18.The day when Allah will raise them all together, they will swear to Him, just like they swear to you [now], supposing that they stand on something. Look! They are indeed liars!

[08:02.00]

19.Istahwaza 'alaihimush shaitaanu fa ansaahum zikral laah; ulaaa'ika hizbush shaitaaan; alaaa innaa hizbash shaitaani humul khaasiroon

19.Satan has prevailed upon them, so he has caused them to forget the remembrance of Allah. They are Satan’s confederates. Look! Indeed, it is Satan’s confederates who are the losers!

[08:26.00]

20.Innal lazeena yuhaaaddoonal laaha wa Rasoolahooo ulaaa'ika fil azalleen

20.Indeed those who oppose Allah and His Apostle—they will be among the most abased.

[08:44.00]

21.Allah has ordained: ‘I shall surely prevail, I and My apostles.’ Indeed Allah is all-strong, all-mighty.

[09:11.00]

22.Laa tajidu qawmany yu'minoona billaahi wal yawmil aakhiri yuwaaaddoona man haaaddal laaha wa Rasoolahoo wa law kaanooo aabaaa'ahum aw abnaaa'ahum aw ikhwaa nahum aw 'asheeratahum; ulaaa'ika kataba fee quloobihi mul eemaana wa ayyadahum biroohimminhu wa yudkhilu hum jannatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaa; radiyal laahu 'anhum wa radoo 'anh; ulaaa 'ika hizbul laah; alaaa inna hizbal laahi humul muflihoon

22.You will not find a people believing in Allah and the Last Day endearing those who oppose Allah and His Apostle even though they were their own parents, or children, or brothers, or kinsfolk. [For] such, He has written faith into their hearts and strengthened them with a spirit from Him. He will admit them into gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them [forever], Allah is pleased with them, and they are pleased with Him. They are Allah’s confederates. Look! The confederates of Allah are indeed felicitous!

Al-Hashr /The Exile

[10:32.00]

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

[10:34.00]

1.Sabbaha lillaahi maa fissamaawaati wa maa fil ardi wa Huwal 'Azeezul Hakeem

1.Whatever there is in the heavens and whatever there is in the earth glorifies Allah, and He is the All-mighty, the All-wise.

[10:42.00]

2.It is He who expelled the faithless belonging to the People of the Book from their homes at the outset of [their] en masse banishment. You did not think that they would go out, and they thought their fortresses would protect them from Allah. But Allah came at them from whence they did not suppose and He cast terror into their hearts. They demolish their houses with their own hands and the hands of the faithful. So take lesson, O you who have insight!

[11:22.00]

3.Wa law laaa an katabal laahu 'alaihimul jalaaa'a la'azzabahum fid dunyaa wa lahum fil Aakhirati 'azaabun Naar

3.If Allah had not ordained banishment for them, He would have surely punished them in this world, and in the Hereafter, there is the punishment of the Fire for them.

Take whatever the Apostle gives you, and refrain from whatever he forbids you, and be wary of Allah. Indeed Allah is severe in retribution.

And those who are saved from their own greed—it is they who are the felicitous.

11.Have you not regarded the hypocrites who say to their brethren, the faithless from among the People of the Book, ‘If you are expelled, we will surely go out with you, and we will never obey anyone against you, and if you are fought against we will surely help you,’ and Allah bears witness that they are indeed liars.

Do not take My enemy and your enemy for friends, [secretly] offering them affection, if you have set out for jihad in My way and to seek My pleasure, for they have certainly denied whatever has come to you of the truth, expelling the Apostle and you, because you have faith in Allah, your Lord. You secretly nourish affection for them, while I know well whatever you hide and whatever you disclose, and whoever among you does that has certainly strayed from the right way.

8.Allah does not forbid you from dealing with kindness and justice with those [polytheists] who did not make war against you on account of religion and did not expel you from your homes. Indeed Allah loves the just.

[23:28.00]

9.Allah forbids you only in regard to those who made war against you on account of religion and expelled you from your homes and supported [the polytheists of Makkah] in your expulsion, that you make friends with them, and whoever makes friends with them—it is they who are the wrongdoers.

10.O you who have faith! When faithful women come to you as immigrants, test them. Allah knows best [the state of] their faith. Then, if you ascertain them to be [genuinely] faithful women, do not send them back to the faithless. They are not lawful for them, nor are they lawful for them, but give them what [dowry] they have spent [for them]. There is no sin upon you in marrying them when you have given them their dowries. Do not hold on to [conjugal] ties with faithless women. Demand [from the infidels] what you have spent [as dowries], and let the faithless demand [from you] what they have spent [as dowries]. That is Allah’s judgment; He judges between you, and Allah is all-knowing, all-wise.

[24:50.00]

11.If anything [of the dowries] pertaining to your wives is not reclaimed from the faithless and then you have your turn, then give to those whose wives have left the like of what they have spent, and be wary of Allah in whom you have faith.

[25:09.00]

12.O Prophet! If faithful women come to you, to take the oath of allegiance to you, [pledging] that they shall not ascribe any partners to Allah, that they shall not steal, nor commit adultery, nor kill their children, nor utter any slander that they may have intentionally fabricated, nor disobey you in what is right, then accept their allegiance, and plead for them to Allah for forgiveness. Indeed Allah is all-forgiving, all-merciful

[26:02.00]

13.O you who have faith! Do not befriend a people at whom Allah is wrathful: they have despaired of the Hereafter, just as the faithless have despaired of the occupants of the graves.

5.When Moses said to his people, ‘O my people! Why do you torment me, when you certainly know that I am Allah’s apostle to you?’ So when they swerved [from the right path], Allah made their hearts swerve, and Allah does not guide the transgressing lot.

Be Allah’s helpers, just as Jesus son of Mary said to his disciples, ‘Who will be my helpers for Allah’s sake?’ The Disciples said, ‘We will be Allah’s helpers!’ So a group of the Children of Israel believed, and a group disbelieved. Then We strengthened the faithful against their enemies, and they came to prevail [over them].

Al-Munafiqun / The Hypocrites

[34:13.00]

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

[34:15.00]

1.Izaa jaaa'akal munaafiqoona qaaloo nashhadu innaka la rasoolul laah; wallaahu ya'lamu innaka la rasooluhoo wallaahu yashhadu innal munaafiqeena lakaaziboon

1.When the hypocrites come to you they say, ‘We bear witness that you are indeed the apostle of Allah.’ Allah knows that you are indeed His Apostle, and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are indeed liars.

[34:38.00]

2.Ittakhazoo aymaanahum junnatan fasaddoo 'an sabeelil laah; innahum saaa'a maa kaanoo ya'maloon

2.They make a shield of their oaths, and bar from the way of Allah. Evil indeed is what they used to do.

[34:55.00]

3.Zaalika bi annahum aamanoo summa kafaroo fatubi'a 'alaa quloobihim fahum laa yafqahoon

3.That is because they believed and then disbelieved, so their hearts were sealed. Hence, they do not understand.

[35:07.00]

4.Wa izaa ra aytahum tu'jibuka ajsaamuhum wa iny yaqooloo tasma' liqawlihim kaannahum khushubum musannadah; yahsaboona kulla saihatin 'alaihim; humul 'aduwwu fahzarhum; qaatalahumul laahu annaa yu'fakoon

4.When you see them, their bodies impress you, and if they speak, you listen to their speech. Yet they are like dry logs set reclining [against a wall]. They suppose every cry is directed against them. They are the enemy, so beware of them. May Allah assail them, where do they stray?!

[35:47.00]

5.Wa izaa qeela lahum ta'aalaw yastaghfir lakum rasoolul laahi lawwaw ru'oo sahum wa ra aytahum yasuddoona wa hum mustakbiroon

5.When they are told, ‘Come, that Allah’s Apostle may plead for forgiveness for you,’ they twist their heads, and you see them turn away disdainfully.

[36:02.00]

6.Sawaaa'un 'alaihim as taghfarta lahum am lam tastaghfir lahum lany yaghfiral laahu lahum; innal laaha laa yahdil qawmal faasiqeen

6.It is the same for them whether you plead for forgiveness for them, or do not plead for forgiveness for them: Allah will never forgive them. Indeed Allah does not guide the transgressing lot.

[36:21.00]

7.Humul lazeena yaqooloona laa tunfiqoo 'alaa man inda Rasoolil laahi hatta yanfaddoo; wa lillaahi khazaaa' inus samaawaati wal ardi wa laakinnal munaafiqeena la yafqahoon

7.They are the ones who say, ‘Do not spend on those who are with the Apostle of Allah until they scatter off [from around him].’ Yet to Allah belong the treasuries of the heavens and the earth, but the hypocrites do not understand.

[36:43.00]

8.They say, ‘When we return to the city, the mighty will surely expel the weak from it.’ Yet all might belongs to Allah and His Apostle and the faithful, but the hypocrites do not know.

[37:13.00]

9.O you who have faith! Do not let your possessions and children distract you from the remembrance of Allah, and whoever does that—it is they who are the losers.

[37:43.00]

10.Wa anifqoo mim maa razaqnaakum min qabli any-yaatiya ahadakumul mawtu fa yaqoola rabbi law laaa akhkhartaneee ilaaa ajalin qareebin fa assaddaqa wa akum minassaaliheen

10.Spend out of what We have provided you before death comes to any of you, whereat he might say, ‘My Lord, why did You not respite me for a short time so that I could give charity and become one of the righteous!’

[38:14.00]

11.Wa lany yu 'akhkhiral laahu nafsan izaa jaaa'a ajaluhaa; wallaahu khabeerum bimaa ta'maloon

11.But Allah will never respite anyone when his time has come, and Allah is well aware of what you do.

At-Taghabun / The Mutual Disillusion

[38:34.00]

Bismillaahir Rahmaanir Raheem

In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

[38:37.00]

1.Yusabbihu lillaahi maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ardi lahul mulku wa lahul hamd, wa Huwa 'alaa kulli shai 'in Qadeer

1.Whatever there is in the heavens and the earth glorifies Allah. To Him belongs all sovereignty and to Him belongs all praise, and He has power over all things.

[38:53.00]

2.Huwal lazee khalaqakum faminkum kaafirunw wa min kum mu'min ; wallaahu bimaa ta'maloona Baseer

2.It is He who created you. Then some of you are faithless and some of you are faithful, and Allah watches what you do.

[39:05.00]

3.Khalaqas samaawaati wal arda bilhaqqi wa sawwarakum fa ahsana suwarakum wa ilaihil maseer

3.He created the heavens and the earth with consummate wisdom, and He formed you and perfected your forms, and toward Him is your destination.

[39:29.00]

4.He knows whatever there is in the heavens and the earth, and He knows whatever you hide and whatever you disclose, and Allah knows best what is in your breasts.

[40:13.00]

5.Alam yaatikum naba'ul lazeena kafaroo min qablu fazaaqoo wabaala amrihim wa lahum 'azaabun aleem

5.Has there not come to you the account of those who were faithless before? They tasted the evil consequence of their conduct, and there is a painful punishment for them.

[40:25.00]

6.Zaalika bi annahoo kaanat taateehim Rusuluhum bilbaiyinaati faqaaloo a basharuny yahdoonanaa fakafaroo wa tawallaw; wastaghnal laah; wallaahu ghaniyyun hameed

6.That was because their apostles would bring them manifest proofs, but they said, ‘Will humans be our guides?!’ So they disbelieved and turned away, and Allah had no need [of their faith] and Allah is all-sufficient, all-laudable.

[40:48.00]

7.Za'amal lazeena kafarooo al-lany yub'asoo; qul balaa wa rabbee latub'asunna summa latunabba'unna bimaa 'amiltum; wa zaalika 'alal laahi yaseer

7.The faithless claim that they will not be resurrected. Say, ‘Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected; then you will surely be informed of what you did, and that is easy for Allah.’

[41:07.00]

8.Fa-aaminoo billaahi wa rasoolihee wannooril lazeee anzalnaa; wallaahu bima ta'maloona khabeer

8.So have faith in Allah and His Apostle and the light, which We have sent down, and Allah is well aware of what you do.

[41:20.00]

9.Ywma yajma'ukum li yawmil jam'i zaalika yawmut taghaabun; wa many-yumim billaahi wa ya'mal saalihany yukaffir 'anhu sayyi aatihee wa yudkhilhu jannaatin tajree min tahtihal anhaaru khaalideena feehaaa abadaa; zaalikal fawzul 'azeem

9.When He will you bring you together for the Day of Gathering, it will be a day of privation [and regret]. As for those who have faith in Allah and act righteously, He shall absolve them of their misdeeds and admit them into gardens with streams running in them, to remain in them forever. That is the great success.

[42:02.00]

10.Wallazeena kafaroo wa kazzaboo bi aayaaatinaaa ulaaa'ika ashaabun naari khaalideena feehaa bi'sal maseer

10.But as for those who are faithless and deny Our signs, they will be the inmates of the Fire, to remain in it [forever], and it is an evil destination.

[42:16.00]

11.Maaa asaaba mim musee batin illaa bi-iznil laah; wa many yu'mim billaahi yahdi qalbah; wallaahu bikulli shai;in Aleem

11.No affliction visits [anyone] except by Allah’s leave. Whoever has faith in Allah, He guides his heart, and Allah has knowledge of all things.

[42:29.00]

12.Wa atee'ul laaha wa atee'ur Rasool; fa in tawallaitum fa innamaa 'alaa Rasoolinal balaaghul mubeen

12.Obey Allah and obey the Apostle; but if you turn away, then Our Apostle’s duty is only to communicate in clear terms.

[42:41.00]

13.Allaahu laaa ilaaha illaa Hoo; wa 'alal laahi falyata wakkalil mu'minoon

13.Allah—there is no god except Him—in Allah let all the faithful put their trust.

[42:50.00]

14.Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanooo inna min azwaaji kum wa awlaadikum 'aduwwal lakum fahzaroohum; wa in ta'foo wa tasfahoo wa taghfiroo fa innal laaha ghafoorur Raheem

14.O you who have faith! Indeed, you have enemies among your spouses and children; so beware of them. Yet if you excuse, forbear, and forgive, then Allah is indeed all-forgiving, all-merciful.

[43:09.00]

15.Innamaa amwaalukum wa awlaadukum fitnah; wallaahu 'indahooo ajrun 'azeem

15.Rather, your possessions, and children are a test, and Allah—with Him is a great reward!

[43:19.00]

16.Fattaqul laaha mastat'tum wasma'oo wa atee'oo waanfiqoo khairal li anfusikum; wa many-yooqa shuha nafsihee fa-ulaaa'ika humul muflihoon

16.So be wary of Allah, as much as you can, and listen and obey, and spend [in the way of Allah]; that is better for yourselves. Those who are saved from their own greed—it is they who are the felicitous.

[43:36.00]

17.In tuqridul laaha qardan hasanany yudd'ifhu lakum wa yaghfir lakum; wallaahu Shakoorun Haleem

17.If you lend Allah a good loan, He shall multiply it for you and forgive you, and Allah is all-appreciative, all-forbearing,

[43:49.00]

[43:59.00]

1.O Prophet! When you divorce women, divorce them at [the conclusion of] their term and calculate the term, and be wary of Allah, your Lord. Do not turn them out from their homes, nor shall they go out, unless they commit a gross indecency. These are Allah’s bounds, and whoever transgresses the bounds of Allah certainly wrongs himself. You never know maybe Allah will bring off something new later on.

[44:44.00]

2.Fa izaa balaghna ajalahunna fa amsikoohunna bima'roofin aw faariqoohunna bima'roofinw wa ashhidoo zawai 'adlim minkum wa aqeemush shahaadata lillaah; zaalikum yoo'azu bihee man kaana yu'minu billaahi wal yawmil aakhir; wa many yattaqil laaha yaj'al lahoo makhrajaa

2.Then, when they have completed their term, either retain them honourably or separate from them honourably, and take the witness of two honest men from among yourselves, and bear witness for the sake of Allah. Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day is advised to [comply with] this. Whoever is wary of Allah, He shall make for him a way out [of the adversities of the world and the Hereafter]

[45:17.00]
