bismil laah. aamanto billaae wa kafarto bit-taaghoote.
In the name of Allah, I believe in Allah and disbelieve in the false gods.
In al-Kaafi: In his narration from Muhammad ibn Marwan who said: Abu Abdillah (a.s.) said: “Should I not tell you what the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) used to say when retiring to bed?” I said: “Yes.” He (a.s.) said: “He (s.a.w.a.) would recite Ayat al-Kursi and then he (s.a.w.a.) would say:
allaahummah faznee fee manaamee wa fee yaqzatee
O Allah protect me in my sleep and when I am awake.
