laa elaaha illal laaho wahdahu wahdahu wahdahu
There is no god but Allah, alone, alone, alone,
In the Kashkol of Shaykh Bahai: In the writing of my father, may he be blessed: Ataa was questioned about the meaning of the saying of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.): “The best dua is my dua and the dua of the prophets before me” and it is:
laa shareeka lahu lahul mulko
having no partners, His is the kingdom
wa lahul hamdo yohyee wa yomeeto
and for Him is all praise, He gives life and death;
wa howa hayyun laa yamooto be-yadehil khayroُ
He is living and will not die, by His hand is all good
wa howa a’laa kulle shay-in qadeer.
and He has power over all things.
Then he said: This is not a dua (as such), rather it is glorification and praise
