أللَّهُمَّ وَمُنَّ عَلَيَّ بِبَقَاءِ وُلْدِي،

al-laahum-ma wmun-na a'lay-ya bibaqaaa-i wul-dee

1.O God, be kind to me through the survival of my children,

وَبِإصْلاَحِهِمْ لِي، وَبِإمْتَاعِي بِهِمْ.

wa biis'-laah'ihim lee wa biim-taae'e bihim

2.setting them right for me, and allowing me to enjoy them!

إلهِي أمْدُدْ لِي فِي أَعْمَارِهِمْ،

ilaahee m-dud lee feee aa'-maarihim

3.My God, make long their lives for me,

وَزِدْ لِي فِي آجَالِهِمْ،

wa zid lee feee aaajaalihim

4.increase their terms,

وَرَبِّ لِي صَغِيرَهُمْ

wa rab-bi lee s'agheerahum

5.bring up the smallest for me,

وَقَوِّ لِي ضَعِيْفَهُمْ،

wa qaw-wi lee z''ae'efahum

6.strengthen the weakest for me,

وَأَصِحَّ لِي أَبْدَانَهُمْ وَأَدْيَانَهُمْ وَأَخْلاَقَهُمْ ،

wa as'ih'-h'a leee ab-daanahum wa ad-yaanahum wa akh-laaqahum

7.rectify for me their bodies, their religious dedication, and their moral traits,

وَعَافِهِمْ فِي أَنْفُسِهِمْ وَفِي جَوَارِحِهِمْ

wa a'afihim feee anfusihim wa fee jawaarih'ihim

8.make them well in their souls, their limbs,

وَفِي كُلِّ مَا عُنِيْتُ بِهِ مِنْ أَمْرِهِمْ،

wa fee kul-li maa u'neetu bihee min am-rihim

9.and everything that concerns me of their affair,

وَأَدْرِرْ لِي وَعَلَى يَـدِي أَرْزَاقَهُمْ،

wa ad-rir lee wa a'laa yaday-ya ar-zaaqahum

10.and pour out for me and upon my hand their provisions!

وَاجْعَلْهُمْ أَبْرَاراً أَتْقِيَاءَ بُصَراءَ سَامِعِينَ

waj-a'l-hum ab-raaran at-qeeaaa-a bus'araaa- saamie'ena

11.Make them pious, fearing, insightful, hearing,

مُطِيعِينَ لَكَ وَلأوْلِيَائِكَ مُحِبِّينَ مُنَاصِحِينَ،

mut'eee'ena lak wa liaw-leeaaa-ika muh'ib-beena munaas'ih'een

12.and obedient toward You, loving and well-disposed toward Your friends,

وَلِجَمِيْعِ أَعْدَآئِكَ مُعَانِدِينَ وَمُبْغِضِينَ آمِينَ.

wa lijameei' aa'-daaa-ika mua'anideena wamub-ghiz''een aaameen

13.and stubbornly resistant and full of hate toward all Your enemies! Amen!

أللَّهُمَّ اشْدُدْ بِهِمْ عَضُدِي،

al-laahum-ma sh-dud bihim a'z''udee

14.O God, through them strengthen my arm,

وَأَقِمْ بِهِمْ أَوَدِيْ، وَكَثِّرْ بِهِمْ عَدَدِي،

wa aqim bihim awadee wa kath-thir bihim a'dadee

15.straighten my burdened back, multiply my number,

وَزَيِّنْ بِهِمْ مَحْضَرِي، وَأَحْييِ بِهِمْ ذِكْرِي،

wa zay-yim-bihim mah'-z''aree wa ah'-yi bihim d'ik-ree

16.adorn my presence, keep alive my mention,

وَاكْفِنِي بِهِمْ فِي غَيْبَتِي وَأَعِنِّي بِهِمْ عَلَى حَاجَتِي،

wa ak-finee bihim fee ghay-batee wa ai'n-nee bihim a'laa h'aajatee

17.suffice me when I am away, help me in my needs,

وَاجْعَلْهُمْ لِي مُحِبِّينَ، وَعَلَيَّ حَدِبِينَ مُقْبِلِينَ مُسْتَقِيمِينَ لِيْ،

waj-a'l-hum lee muh'ib-beena wa a'lay-ya h'adibeena muq-bileen mus-taqeemeena lee

18.and make them loving toward me, affectionate, approaching, upright,

مُطِيعِينَ غَيْرَ عَاصِينَ

mut'eee'en ghay-ra a'as'eena

19.obedient, never disobedient,

وَلاَ عَاقِّينَ وَلا مُخَالِفِينَ وَلاَ خـاطِئِينَ،

wa laa a'aaq-qeen wa laa mukhaalifeena wa laa khaat'i-een

20.disrespectful, opposed, or offenders!

وَأَعِنِّي عَلَى تَرْبِيَتِهِمْ وَتَأدِيْبِهِمْ وَبِرِّهِمْ،

wa ai'n-nee a'laa tar-beeatihim wataa-deebihim wabir-rihim

21.Help me in their upbringing, their education, and my devotion toward them,

وَهَبْ لِيْ مِنْ لَدُنْكَ مَعَهُمْ أَوْلاداً ذُكُوراً ،

wa hab lee mil-ladunka maa'hum aw-laadana d'ukooraa

22.give me among them from Yourself male children,

وَاجْعَلْ ذَلِكَ خَيْراً لي وَاجْعَلْهُمْ لِي عَوناً عَلَى مَا سَأَلْتُكَ،

waj-a'l d'alika khay-ral-lee waj-a'l-hum lee a'w-nan a'laa maa saal-tuk

23.make that a good for me, and make them a help for me in that which I ask from You!

وَأَعِذْنِي وَذُرِّيَّتِي مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ،

wa ai'd'-nee wad'ur-ree-yatee minash-shay-t'aanir-rajeem

24.Give me and my progeny refuge from the accursed Satan,

فَإنَّكَ خَلَقْتَنَا وَأَمَرْتَنَا وَنَهَيْتَنَا وَرَغّبْتَنَا

fa in-naka khalaq-tanaa wa amar-tanaa wa nahay-tanaa wa ragh-ghab-tanaa

25.for You hast created us, commanded us, and prohibited us, and made us desire

فِي ثَوَابِ ما أَمَرْتَنَا وَرَهَّبْتَنَا عِقَابَهُ،

fee thawaabi maaa amar-tanaa wa rah-hab-tanaa i'qaabah

26.the reward of what You hast commanded, and fear its punishment!

وَجَعَلْتَ لَنَا عَدُوّاً يَكِيدُنَا،

wa jaa'l-ta lanaa a'doo-way-yakeedunaa

27.You assigned to us an enemy who schemes against us,

سَلَّطْتَهُ مِنَّا عَلَى مَا لَمْ تُسَلِّطْنَا عَلَيْهِ مِنْهُ،

sal-lat'-tahoo min-naa a'laa maa lam tusal-lit'-naa a'lay-hee min-h

28.gave him an authority over us in a way that You didst not give us authority over him

أَسْكَنْتَهُ صُدُورَنَا، وَأَجْرَيْتَهُ مَجَارِيَ دِمَائِنَا،

as-kantahoo s'udooranaa wa aj-ray-tahoo majaareea dimaaa-inaa

29.allowed him to dwell in our breasts and let him run in our blood vessels;

لاَ يَغْفُلُ إنْ غَفَلْنَا، وَلاَ يَنْسَى إنْ نَسِينَا،

laa yagh-fulu in ghafal-naa wa laa yansaaa in-naseenaa

30.he is not heedless, though we be heedless, he does not forget, though we forget;

يُؤْمِنُنَا عِقَابَكَ، وَيَخَوِّفُنَا بِغَيْرِكَ،

yoo-minunaa i'qaabak wa yukhaw-wifunaa bighay-rik

31.he makes us feel secure from Your punishment and fills us with fear toward other than You.

إنْ هَمَمْنَا بِفَاحِشَة شَجَّعَنَا عَلَيْهَا،

in hamam-naa bifaah'ishatin shaj-jaa'naa a'lay-haa

32.If we are about to commit an indecency, he gives us courage to do so,

وَإنْ هَمَمْنَا بِعَمَل صَالِح ثَبَّطَنَا عَنْهُ،

wa in hamam-naa bia'malin s'aalih'in thab-bat'anaa a'n-h

33.and if we are about to perform a righteous work, he holds us back from it.

يَتَعَرَّضُ لَنَا بِالشَّهَوَاتِ، وَيَنْصِبُ لَنَا بِالشَّبُهَاتِ،

yataa'r-raz''u lanaa bish-shahawaat wa yans'ibu lanaa bish-shubuhaat

34.He opposes us through passions, and sets up for us doubts.

إنْ وَعَدَنَا كَذَبَنَا وَإنْ مَنَّانا، أَخْلَفَنَا

iw-waa'danaa kad'abanaa wa im-man-naanaaa akh-lafanaa

35.If he promises us, he lies, and if he raises our hopes, he fails to fulfil them.

وَإلاّ تَصْرِفْ عَنَّا كَيْدَهُ يُضِلَّنَا،

wa il-laa tas'-rif a'n-naa kay-dahoo yuz''il-lanaa

36.If You dost not turn his trickery away from us, he will misguide us,

وَإلاّ تَقِنَا خَبالَهُ يَسْتَزِلَّنَا.

wa il-laa taqinaa khabaalahoo yas-tazil-lanaa

37.and if You dost not protect us from his corruption, he will cause us to slip.

أللَّهُمَّ فَاقْهَرْ سُلْطَانَهُ عَنَّا بِسُلْطَانِكَ حَتَّى تَحْبِسَهُ عَنَّا

al-laahum-ma faq-har sul-t'aanahoo a'n-naa bisul-t'aanika h'at-taa tah'-bisahoo a'n-naa

38.O God, so defeat his authority over us through Your authority, such that You holdest him back from us

بِكَثْرَةِ الدُّعَاءِ لَكَ، فَنُصْبحَ مِنْ كَيْدِهِ فِي الْمَعْصُومِينَ بِكَ.

bikath-ratid-dua'aa-i laka fanus'-bih'a min kay-dihee fil-maa'-s'oomeena bik

39.through the frequency of our supplication to You and we leave his trickery and rise up among those preserved by You from sin!

أللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِنِي كُلَّ سُؤْلِي، وَاقْضِ لِي حَوَائِجِي،

al-laahum-ma aa'-t'inee kul-la soo-lee waq-z''i lee h'awaaa-ijee

40.O God, grant me my every request, accomplish for me my needs,

وَلاَ تَمْنَعْنِي الإجَابَةَ وَقَدْ ضَمِنْتَهَا لِي،

wa laa tam-naa'-neel-ijaabata waqad z''amintahaa lee

41.withhold not from me Your response when You hast made Yourself accountable for it to me,

وَلا تَحْجُبْ دُعَائِي عَنْكَ وَقَدْ أَمَرْتَنِي بِهِ،

wa laa tah'-jub dua'aa-ee a'nka waqad amartanee bih

42.veil not my supplication from Yourself, when You hast commanded me to make it,

وَامْنُنْ عَلَيَّ بِكُلِّ مَا يُصْلِحُنِيْ

wam-nun a'lay-ya bikul-li maa yus'-lih'unee

43.and be kind to me through everything that will set me right

فِيْ دُنْيَايَ وَآخِرَتِي مَا ذَكَرْتُ مِنْهُ وَمَـا نَسِيتُ،

fee dunyaaya wa aaakhiratee maa d'akar-tu min-hoo wa maa naseet

44.in this world and the next, in everything that I remember or forget,

أَوْ أَظْهَـرتُ أَوْ أَخْفَيْتُ، أَوْ أَعْلَنْتُ أَوْ أَسْرَرْتُ،

aw az'-har-tu aw akh-fay-t aw aa'-lantu aw as-rar-t

45.display or conceal, make public or keep secret!

وَاجْعَلْنِي فِي جَمِيعِ ذلِكَ مِنَ الْمُصْلِحِينَ بِسُؤَالِي إيَّـاكَ،

waj-a'l-nee fee jameei' d'alika mina al-mus'-lih'eena bisoo-aaleee ee-yaak

46.In all of this, place me through my asking You among those who set things right,

الْمُنْجِحِينَ بِالـطَّلَبِ إلَيْـكَ،

al-munjih'eena bit'-t'alabi ilay-k

47.those who are answered favourably when they request from You

غَيْـرِ الْمَمْنُوعِينَ بِالتَّوَكُّلِ عَلَيْكَ،

ghay-ril-mam-nooe'ena bit-tawak-kuli a'lay-k

48.and from whom is not withheld when they put their trust in You,

الْمُعَوَّدِينَ بِالتَّعَوُّذِ بِكَ، الرَّابِحِينَ فِي التِّجَارَةِ عَلَيْـكَ، الْمُجَارِيْنَ بِعِـزِّكَ،

al-mua'w-wad'eena bit-taa'w-wud'i bik ar-raabih'eena fit-tijaarati a'lay-k al-mujaareena bii'z-zik

49.those accustomed to seek refuge in You, those who profit through commerce with You, those granted sanctuary through Your might,

الْمُـوَسَّـعِ عَلَيْهِمُ الـرِّزْقُ الْحَـلاَلُ

al-muwas-sai' a'lay-himur-riz-qul-h'alaalu

50.those given lawful provision in plenty

مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْوَاسِعِ بِجُودِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ،

min faz''-likal-waasii' bijoodika w karamik

51.from Your boundless bounty through Your munificence and generosity,

الْمُعَزِّينَ مِنَ الذُّلِّ بِكَ، وَالْمُجَارِينَ مِن الظُّلْمِ بِعَدْلِكَ،

al-mua'z-zeena minad'-d'ul-li bik wal-mujaareena minaz'-z'ul-mi bia'd-lik

52.those who reach exaltation after abasement through You, those granted sanctuary from wrong through Your justice,

وَالْمُعَافَيْنَ مِنَ الْبَلاءِ بِرَحْمَتِكَ، وَالْمُغْنَيْنَ مِنَ الْفَقْرِ بِغِنَاكَ،

wal-mua'afay-na minal-balaaa-i birah'-matik wal-mugh-nay-na minl-faq-ri bighnaak

53.those released from affliction through Your mercy, those delivered from need after poverty through Your riches,

وَالْمَعْصومِينَ مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ وَالزَّلَلِ وَالْخَطَأِ بِتَقْوَاكَ،

wal-maa'-s'oomeena minad'-d'unoobi waz-zalali waal-khat'aaa-i bitaq-waak

54.those preserved from sins, slips, and offenses through reverential fear toward You,

وَالْمُوَفَّقِينَ لِلْخَيْرِ وَالرُّشْدِ وَالصَّوَابِ بِطَاعَتِكَ،

w almuwaf-faqeena lil-khay-ri wr-rush-di was'-s'awaabi bit'aaa'tik

55.those successful in goodness, right conduct, and propriety through obeying You,

وَالْمُحَالِ بَيْنَهُمْ وَبَيْنَ الذُّنُوبِ بِقُدْرَتِكَ،

wal-muh'aali bay-nahum wa bay-nad'-d'unoobi biqud-ratik

56.those walled off from sins through Your power,

التَّـارِكِينَ لِكُلِّ مَعْصِيَتِكَ، السَّاكِنِينَ فِي جِوَارِكَ.

at-taarikeena likul-li maa'-s'eeatik as-saakineena fee jiwaarik

57.the refrainers from every act of disobedience toward You, the dwellers in Your neighbourhood!

أللَّهُمَّ أَعْطِنَا جَمِيعَ ذلِكَ بِتَوْفِيقِكَ

al-laahum-ma aa'-t'inaa jameea' d'alika bitaw-feeqika

58.O God, give me all of that through Your bestowal of success

وَرَحْمَتِكَ وَأَعِذْنَا مِنْ عَذَابِ السَّعِيرِ،

warah'-matik wa ai'd'-naa min a'd'aabis-sae'er

59.and Your mercy, grant us refuge from the chastisement of the burning,

وَأَعْطِ جَمِيعَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَـاتِ

wa aa'-t'i jameea'l-mus-limeena wal-mus-limaati

60.and give to all the Muslims, male and female,

وَالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ مِثْلَ الَّذِي سَأَلْتُكَ لِنَفْسِي

wal-moo-mineena wal-moo-minaati mith-lal-lad'ee saal-tuka linaf-see

61.and all the faithful, male and female, the like of what I have asked for myself

وَلِوُلْدِي فِي عَاجِلِ الدُّنْيَا وَآجِلِ الآخِرَةِ،

wa liwul-dee fee a'ajilid-dunyaa wa aaajilil-aaakhirah

62.and my children, in the immediate of this world and the deferred of the next!

إنَّكَ قَرِيبٌ مُجِيبٌ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيمٌ

in-naka qareebum-mujeeb sameeu'n a'leem

63.Verily You art the Near, the Responder, the All-hearing, the All-knowing,

عَفُوٌّ غَفُـورٌ رَؤُوفٌ رَحِيمٌ.

a'foo-wu ghafoor ra-oofur-rah'eem

64.the Pardoner, the Forgiving, the Clement, the Merciful!

وَآتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ.

wa aaatinaa fid-dunyaa h'asanataw-wa fil-aaakhirati h'asanah wa qinaa a'd'aaban-naar

65.And "give to us in this world good, and in the next world good, and protect us from the chastisement of the Fire" (2:201)!
