بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ.

Bismil Laahir Rahmaanir Raheem.

In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلهِ الَّذِیْ لَمْ یُصْبِحْ بِی مَیِّتًا.

Alhamdo Lillaahil Lazee Lam Yusbeh Bee Mayyetan.

Praise be to Allah, Who made me such that I have not died.

وَلَا سَقِیْمًا وَ لَا مَضْرُوْبًا عَلٰی عُرُوْقِیْ بِسُوٓءٍ.

Wa Laa Saqeeman Wa Laa Mazrooban A’laa O’rooqee Be-Sooo-In.

Nor am I sick, nor have my veins been infected with disease.

وَلَا مَاْخُوْذًا بِاَسْوَءِ عَمَلِیْ وَ لَا مَقْطُوْعًا دَابِرِیْ.

Wa Laa Maakhoozan Be-Aswa-E A’malee Wa Laa Maqtoo-A’n Daaberee.

Nor have I been hauled up for my evil acts, nor am I without progeny.

وَلَا مُرْتَدًّا عَنْ دِیْنِیْ وَ لَا مُنْکِرًا لِرَبِّیْ.

Wa Laa Murtaddan A’n Deenee Wa Laa Munkeran Lerabbee.

Nor have I forsaken my religion, nor do I disbelieve in my Lord.

وَلَا مُسْتَوْحِشًا مِنْ اِیْمَانِیْ وَ لَا مُلْتَبِسًا عَقْلِیْ.

Wa Laa Mustawheshan Min Eemaanee Wa Laa Multabesan A’qlee.

Nor do I feel strangeness with my faith, nor is my intelligence affected.

وَلَا مُعَذَّبًا بِعَذَابِ الْاُمَمِ مِنْ قَبْلِیْ.

Wa Laa Mo-A’zzaban Be-A’zaabil Omame Min Qablee.

Nor have I been punished with the punishment of peoples before me.

اَصْبَحْتُ عَبْدًا مَمْلُوْکًا ظَالِمًا لِنَفْسِیْ.

Asbahto A’bdan Mamlookan Zaaleman Le-Nafsee.

I am a slave in Your possession; I have been guilty of excesses over myself.

لَکَ الْحُجَّۃُ عَلَیَّ وَ لَا حُجَّۃَ لِیْ.

Lakal Hujjato A’layya Wa Laa Hujjata Lee.

You have exhausted Your pleas over me and I have no plea (before You).

وَلَا اَسْتَطِیْعُ اَنْ آخُذَ اِلَّا مَا اَعْطَیْتَنِیْ.

Wa Laa Astatee-O’ An Aakhoza Illaa Maa A-A’taytanee.

I have no power to take except what You give me.

وَلَا اَتَّقِیَ اِلَّا مَا وَقَیْتَنِیْ.

Wa Laa Attaqeya Illaa Maa Waqaytanee.

And I cannot evade except what You save me from.

اَللّٰہُمَّ اِنِّی اَعُوْدُ بِکَ اَنْ اَفْتَقِرَ فِی غِنَاکَ.

Allaahumma Innee A-O’ozo Beka An Aftaqera Fee Ghenaaka.

O Allah! I seek Your protection from becoming destitute despite Your riches.

اَوْ اَضِلَّ فِی ہُدَاکَ اَوْ اُضَامَ فِی سُلْطَانِکَ.

Aw Azilla Fee Hodaaka Aw Ozaama Fee Sultaaneka.

From being misguided despite Your guidance, from being molested in Your realm.

اَوْ اُضْطَہَدَ وَ الْاَمْرُ لَکَ.

Aw Uztahada Wal Amro Laka.

And from being humiliated while authority rests with You.

اَللّٰہُمَّ اجْمَعَل نَفְسِی أَوَّلَ کَرِیْمَۃٍ تَنْتَزِعُہَا مِن کَرَآئِمِی۔

Allaahummaj A’l Nafsee Awwala Kareematin Tantaze-O’haa Min Karaaa-Emee.

O Allah! Let my spirit be the first of those good objects that You take from me.

وَاَوَّلَ وَدِیعَۃٍ تَرْتَجِعُہَا مِن وَدَآئِع نِّعَمک عِنְدِي۔

Wa Awwala Wadee-A’tin Tartaje-O’haa Min Wadaaa-E-E’ Ne-A’meka I’ndee.

And the first trust out of Your favors held in trust with me.

اَللّٰہُمَّ اِنَّا نَعُؤوز بِک أَنْ تَذہَب عَنْ قَوِلک۔

Allaahumma Innaa Na-O’ozo Beka An Tazhaba A’n Qawleka.

O Allah! We seek Your protection from turning away from Your command.

اَوَنْ نُنفتَنَنَّ عَنْ دِينک۔

Aw An Nuftatana A’n Deeneka.

Or revolting against Your religion.

اَو تَعَالَى بِنَا أَهَوَىٰنَا دُونَهُدَى الَّذِي جَآءَ مِن عِنَدک۔

Aw Tataa-Ba-A’ Benaa Ahwaaa-Onaa Doonal Hodal Lazee Jaaa-A Min I’ndeka.

Or being led away by our desires instead of by guidance that comes from You.
