From Sayyid Ibn Taaoos in al-Iqbaal: Narrated from Ja’far ibn Muhammad (a.s.) from his father (a.s.), who said in a hadees:
When the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) had completed his Morning Prayer, he (s.a.w.a.) would (continue to) face the Qiblah until sunrise, invoking Allah the Almighty (s.w.t.). At this time, Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) would come forward and sit behind the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and the people would come to seek permission to ask for their needs, and this is what the Prophet of Allah (s.a.w.a.) had instructed them to do.
